I will forever miss hearing Gus' voice coming through the wii remote speaker :(
Maybe its a feature on ps5
@@AlexxxMYLSince2013that would be legendary
I would legit buy a switch remote accessory that’s only purpose is to make Gus noises.
HD Rumble can possibly make it happen. We've seen it capable of producing music so why not voices
@@freakfoxvevo7915mario wonder did it, too. so yeah, surely it will happen.
I know it's a small detail, but I genuinely appreciate the fact that Mickey's face slightly changes whenever he takes damage, just like in the original
Like Kingdom Hearts
Oh thank god, that was a big concern for many, im glad that detail has remained
@@johnmehlman5195 the sketch book is gonna be missed, it was such a cool feature, it meant to represent a flip book
I'm so relieved
like banjo-kazooie
I love the little detail that, no matter which way the camera is pointing, mickeys silhouette with his ears will always remain recognizable
It's a neat feature that in the original did.
It is pretty neat. They also do the same thing in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, good memories that show was too.
A detail that was also implemented in Kingdom Hearts on the PS2, and then never again throughout the rest of the series.
I feel like the Epic Mickey dev team should've swapped notes with the KH dev team...
Isn't that how his ears have always been drawn?
Thank god they added a manual camera, the camera in the Wii version was probably the single biggest issue it had, but the game still lacks a sense of polish as is evident by the ever present weird collisioning when Mickey jumps around and generally moves around the environment.
This is just the Switch gameplay, as seen in the title. I bet the gameplay in other consoles has better polish.
I hope the camera is improved overall though. Controlling the camera constantly was a problem
@@philipnapoli4468 It doesn't work like that (anymore), the game will change in term of graphism or on some technical points, like loadings times, according to the console the game will run on, but appart from that, the game should have the same level of polish across all platforms
@@kugalinku Oh. Okay.
@@kugalinkuit kinda does sometimes
They’ll def add the music for the projector later. I have no doubts about that.
Same for the sound effects.
Also the picking up paint in thinner noise you think?
@@DIBS3 I think all the sounds that were coming from the Wii Remote are missing. Hopefully they'll fix that before release.
@@BerndbobBrotkopfthe picking up paint noise didn’t come from the remote it was a sound effect inside the game but I’m sure they’ll add all of them back
Kind of a hodgepodge of changes that make a lot of sense and ones that don’t. The environmental detail is a net positive for me, some people might be miffed that they’re a bit brighter but I feel the original was overbearingly dark to the point where it was hard to see.
The strangest decision I’ve noticed is changing the blue painting and green thinning fade effect to be uniformly white, I don’t really see the purpose and it just makes the two harder to visually distinguish. Changing the HUD and the Blotlings to be more in line with their EM2 designs is also a huge miss, the sketchbook look was extremely charming and I just prefer the inkier look for Blotlings. There also seems to be missing particle effects (i.e. collecting items and befriending enemies) and the projector music seems to be missing, but I’ll chalk those up to its In-Dev status that will be hopefully implemented later.
I agree, it's odd some of the things that are missing. It's very reasonable to chalk it up to development builds missing some details, though.
Are there beetleworx in the game? 😮
@@thomasruglioni1589Yeah
Oooh, I like the effect on Mickey himself. They're not only doing the "Micky's ears are always directly facing the camera" thing, but there's a soft rim highlight, which when combined with the flat-color textures, end ups imitating the airbrush look of older Disney art. it's something different from your usual toon shader.
So hyped about this (especially Oswald)
i think everything is being covered by the one track, cuz when he fights the splatter the combat music didn't play, probably just a thing for this video though
@@amylamey718The combat music played for the Sweeper!
@@sandwich_bubbles47 oh, i didn't notice
Hyped for Oswald!!! Hope this brings more attention to the character.
@@humbloom Oswald is my favorite. love the cartoons you can still watch with him
OK, the gameplay for the boat ride area is absolutely phenomenal and I’m not sure anyone noticed, but during out this whole thing, the music has been slightly amplified and was a somewhat echo tone and some bits. They definitely gave the music a good tuneup as well Every second I see more this game makes me smile more and more.
How smooth it runs on the Switch im impressed
Some of it kinda looks off to me. But maybe that's just because this is probably early footage
Never played the original but I remember reading about it in GameInformer as a kid and just being terrified at the concept of it. Really cool.
IDK if I'm just misremembering, but I feel like there are a few missing sound effects for picking up paint & thinner refills and e-tickets. I'm also sure that the projector level is missing its unique music. Graphically it looks kinda weird. You can really tell which models were redone (which do look really good) and which have been left alone. I really hope this is an earlier build of the game and the actual release will have more redone stuff. Except the music. Don't touch that.
Still an early build so we got time
yeah, the old/original sound effect sounded like the switch controller snap sound
it's the switch, it won't look as great as on the big boy consoles
Yeah but if this how it’s supposed to look like on the switch their better off not releasing it, it looks very fan made 💀
@@brokenlimit6870it looks great
Really happy that Gus shows up as a full model instead of a 2d png
Gus was always a 3D model in EM1, he was only a png in EM2
@@SlayCapgus is 2d in first game only in dark beauty castle in mad doctors lab when he appears before the door you have to go through after fight with eye
@@TheArczeQ ...no? i can confirm he is a 3D model, he's only 2D in EM2
I never finished the original because it was literally too dark. I hope there’s a screen brighten option without having to wreck my TV’s picture for everything else.
Epic Mickey's back and better than ever!!!!
“This.. is mine”
I feel that disney is really slowly becoming irrelevant.
@@AbdullahNad-ib7hlepic Mickey was the last creative thing they did in my opinion.
@@JSwag_Reviewsthen you clearly haven't seen anything disney has done since then because that's a wild claim 💀
@@jclkaytwo the creativity isn’t what it use to be. It’s so corporate now, this was insane when it came out. Something Walt would have loved, I didn’t mean everything, but pretty much.
this looks AMAZING,my only complaints tho are the white outlines on breakables, the weird glowy effect over thinned things, and the text boxes are meh
Yeah, the original breakables had a brief flash that was obvious enough, the rim lighting is overbearing
😂
Looks very faithful to the original but and runs great on Switch… but definitely want to see this running on PS5/XSX.
Hope Epic Mickey The Power Of Two, Power Of Illusion also get remade next!!!
I appreciate this game coming out at all
The dragon prop looks less threatening here than it did in the old version.
It's probably cuz it is more mechanical than a weird realistic living one beneath the thinner lake/pool
@@bendyleftycrafty2145
Think it's supposed to be one of those puppets you see performers use to move and dance around with like it's the actual thing.
It's definitely different from how i remember it. But I guess there's really nothing to complain about, at least you can get across it easier.
Looks more like an actual bridge too
@@avenger3272
Am scared to see how Mickeyjunk Mountain will look like. Will they keep the same level of eeriness that the original held?
This looks really awesome so far! I’ve read the issues people brought up and I agree that they should be addressed in the remaster (lack of unique music in the 2D portion and the fading effect for paint/thinner to be white for example), but I do want to bring up some things I really liked about the gameplay.
From what I read, they added a manual camera which is really awesome. It’s going to make it a lot more easier to know your surroundings.
I also really like how colorful the game looks compared to the original game. It still retains some of the spookiness from the OG for me while feeling a bit more brighter for people to see where they’re going.
Also also, the detail where the background turns grayscale for a second when you take damage is a very cool one.
Oh this looks amazing, I'm really happy to have seen this.
YO TAMBIÉN ESTOY FELIZ QUE HA VUELTO DESPUÉS DE 13 AÑOS SIN SABER DEL JUEGO Y QUIERO QUÉ HAGAN LA TERCERA PARTE YA VIMOS LA 1 YA VIMOS LA 2 AHORA QUIERO VER LA TERCERA PARTE O MEJOR TE GUSTARÍA UN DLC DE EPIC MICKEY REBRUSHED ESO ESTARÍA BUENO TE GUSTA MI IDEA DE UN DLC CÓMO SEA SOLO ESTOY FELIZ QUÉ HA VUELTO Y YA ESTOY FELIZ DE VER ESTE JUEGO 🤩🐭🧙♂️🖌️🌟🎮
The graphics in this remake look great. :) The only thing I do want to point out is that the subtitles in the dialogue feel a little bit out of place though and doesn’t really feel… Mickey-ish. Ya know? Other than that though this game is looking good. :)
I love the og ui, but it makes sense why they had to redo it, but I just hope they made like a remade main menu so when the music builds up you get that oil paint like mickey logo.

Looking forward to this, I played it on the Wii and looking forward to experience it again fully polished.
I think mickey is currently missing his stop animation, but so far looks pretty epic
This is an early demo so things are going to be changed and re added
yea I know
I see what you did there
gosh this is so beautiful
Never played this but im so excited to try it out when it releases :) This looks legit fun
I don’t know if it’s just me, but is mickey missing that inky thing that would come off his body? I’m still extremely hyped for this game, as I can only imagine this is just in-progress.
Should the characters talking in Epic Mickey Rebrushed?
YES👍👍 including a not talking switch if you are not a fan
@@Thorax7x686 Why?
I would prefer it if they didn’t talk.
@@terrorthywolf3965 I want those characters to talk in Epic Mickey Rebrushed.
@@jonathanvo7991 i hear fans not liking the idea of them talk
Definitely gonna get this game. Haven't played it when it came out of the Wii and now is my chance.
I never was much of a big gamer when I was a kid but since the pandemic I got really into gaming can’t wait to replay this
So cool they're bringing this game to more platforms so more people can experience it.
Do we know if the switch version will bring motion controls back? I actually think having that option would be absolutely spectacular and just add to the nostalgia
One thing that's a bit of is the music in the projector...
It’s an early build.
It’ll be added later for sure
Copyrighted so it’s not there.
@@Robin503 Steamboat Willie is public domain so it's not copyrighted, plus if it was Disney would have given the rights to the devs
@@fallenshai *sigh* Gamespot were the ones that removed the music from the video itself, the devs probably haven't removed the music from the game at all..
Creators like these probably don't want to take any risks even if it is public domain.
Love what I’m seeing. Currently playing the original on the Wii before I play this modern touch up🖌
My jam is back
my jam is back
My back is jam
I love how vibrant and clear they make the more ‘toon’ objects. I recently played through the original and one major complaint I had with the game was how inconsistent the grim and toon colors were, like sometimes the colors of toon objects would mesh with the grim environments. Sometimes due to that it made it difficult in certain sections.
The improved resolution already is incredible. The original Wii version was so dark it was hard to see what was going on in certain areas. So hyped for the remake ❤
It looks good. I’m happy that they’ve improved the games mechanics including fixing that awful camera from the original.
My only concern though is that the game looks too saturated now which kinda go against the original art design as it was meant to convey a moody/depressing tone.
I actually kind of like the saturation here; It's like the area's past is gasping it's final breath. Reminder that most of the locations in Wasteland are based on different attractions and areas from the Disney parks.
Man this remaster looks beautiful!
This looks AMAZING!!! I’m so excited to play it!! It has to be done soon, right?! ❤😂
We are so back
im so happy man, epic mickey used to be my favorite game as a child
I can’t wait to explore the haunted mansion again 😁
As someone who still plays the original here are the things I’m not the biggest fan of:
1) the excessive shininess of the breakable objects
2) The new health bar
3) THE FACT THAT THEY TOOK OUT THE SOUND EFFECTS THAT PLAYED WHEN YOU COLLECTED PAINT AND THINNER!!!
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m super excited for this game, and I get they aren’t trying to make an exact copy, but I do wish they kept a couple of those small details that were in the original
The game is obviously not done yet so these could just be missing details or unfinished as this gameplay is most likely from some sort of beta or prototype kind of build
@@meltingrocket89yt That’s true. I just hope to see some of these small details in the finished game
@@Human_ish_001 that's fair
The rebrushed graphic and gameplay looks promising alright and better animation
Yeah, I really need that new game
This game is gonna be so nostalgic for me
Everything about this looks absolutely incredible! The only thing I dislike is the new effect for painting and thinning, I miss the old outline and effect it had
YES ITS HERE THE GAMEPLAY
Let's keep in mind, this might still be early footage of what's to come. So some of the stuff we're seeing might ultimately change
Time will tell.
This makes me want to cry! It’s so cool!
Its beautiful. Its incredible. Its ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
IT LOOKS SO GOOD OMGOMGOMGOMG
Now this is what a nice, steady frame rate can do for a game like this on the Switch.
Even though it looks as though it runs at 30fps, it doesn't matter quite as much because it's a steady, solid 30fps and doesn't cause dizziness or force me to have to look away/take breaks every 15 mins.
It looks so amazing
Wish the original health icon was there but I guess it’s ok
I know right? They should bring back the old ui, or at least the design
@@alexh1323 Thats what i saying
Well it seems like the 2009 version, which had the function of showing the effects paint or thinner took on Mickey himself, as his appearance would change depending on which one you used the most
Im sure that its because thks is still prototype but so far ive noticed:
-no gremlin cage knocking noise
-no voice line mumbles for each line
-when braun disappeared it used the gus texture
-no timer for the steam puzzle
-no music I steamboat willie
Wow, this looks better than I thought in the Nintendo Switch! I say great work to the devs!
For all asking, the video is still in a beta version
That's normal if there are any unpolished elements
The projectors tho... I'm unbelievably upset at how tiny they're
@@bendyleftycrafty2145. Still a beta version; Look, if the game's marketing doesn't even have a season placeholder, it's probably not coming out for a while.
oh my god it looks great
The effect when you take damage is very original, the screen is turning gray and do I need to talk about the solvent texture
Looks pretty good on switch ❤
I played epic mickey 2 and still have it, so I'm glad they made a remake I can now play the first game
It looks so beautiful! 😭😭😭
Ok, now I am so hyped for this game. The mouse has returned for a better adventure in wasteland.
So I'm really hoping that because it's a demo not all the sfx and music is there. Because the soundtrack to the projector screens was some of, if not the best music. And the lack of the E-tickets chime that usually plays kinda socks. But so far, I'm looking forward to this
Those blue guys bring nostalgia i remember playing the sequel with a family member and turning them good i dont really remember this game tho
This one is a single player game, the story is kinda more fleshed and there's more Easter eggs, also those things are known as Guardians, the blue/paint ones are named Tints, the green/thinner ones are named Turps.
If I'm miss remembering I apologize but THEY ADDED PLAFORMS TO THE DRAGON!!! I remember dying so many times to that dragon cause I kept sliding off it
Hopefully it launches with handheld mode cuase I'm a switch lite user
The jump sound effect sounds like Crash's jump sound effect from Twinsanity/Tag Team Racing
This makes me hope for a third game
Will the Peter David, Epic Mickey comics be included to read & unlock in the extras or I take it that's a no go?
Great video!!
Dude it looks good and awesome
this is...............BEAUTIFUL
I hope they have point controls like in the original game. They brought them back for galaxy on the switch so it can't be so hard
Can’t wait to play this game on the Nintendo Switch
I hope they also have gyro aim. While it was janky this wouldn't be a faithful recreation without it available
Cant wait to play it
This looks awesome
Also I really wish we'd hopefully get Epic Mickey 3 someday, highly doubt it with Epic Donald/Epic Mickey racing games coming back unfortunately..
Can you aim using the movement of joicons like in Wii or are we forced to use the right stick only?
I don’t mind using the Right stick but I never had issues pointing the Wii Remote either.
After this im finally going to play epic mickey 2 on the Ps Vita
The utter nostalgia I get from this gameplay and music hits different.🥹
Looks good so far, but based on what was shown on the Steamboat Willie segment, it looks like not everything is coming back, due to copyright changes since the original game's release.
It looks so good! I just hope it’s actually 60fps on switch!
I don’t see it being 60fps on Switch when Sonic colors couldn’t do it so that’s why. Wanna see some Xbox or PlayStation play instead plus 4K
@@destroyermcw626 yea, I doubt it will be. But who knows
Having the reticle in the middle of the screen at all times isn’t a bad idea, but I hope motion controls and controlling the reticle like how it was on the Wii U gamepad in 2 are still options
Looks so good so far, so excited! Btw, is it me or do the Gremlins now have little pockets on the front of their suits?
Oh dang you're here too 😂 I'm very excited 😆
@@DCGreecy1 Sure, despite the break I did, I still love the Epic Mickey franchise.
5:20 Still kept in the tiptoe sound from the original game.
Okay yeah I’ve changed my mind. I’m getting this on the PlayStation. My childhood game deserves to be played on a next gen console.
I had all my copies of Epic Mickey on Nintendo consoles (tho the OG and Epic Mickey Power of Illusion are exclusives.) but I ain't hoping for a quality game in Switch knowing how this looks already, I guess it's gonna be the same like SpongeBob Rehydrated.
Yep same but I’m getting it on Xbox Series X because I know PlayStation and Xbox Series X go be 60fps
@@destroyermcw626 Totally worth for the best experience, maybe the Switch game is gonna be sadly as broken like Epic Mickey 2 on the Wii U haha...
@@bendyleftycrafty2145 I finished the Wii U one Co-op but those frames were bad at spots for no reason 💀💀💀 and the buggy Cutscenes that audio out💀 (My fix for cutscenes was open the game but in Gamepad view).
@@destroyermcw626 I wonder if they straight up leave the port unfinished or somehow not optimized at all on Wii U, I just can't comprehend what happened with Junction Point there 🤢
This game always reminds me of Banjo Kazooie and I have no clue why
Excellent!
Well, looks like a good job!
I hope prescott has the em2 design (i played em1 after playing em2 and when i got to the part where u get prescott from the safe i was like “thats not prescott”
This looks better than the original Wii version. While at the time I was frustrated that I had to use Dolphin to play the original, I'm ultimately glad they waited two generations to remaster this. This way, even portable consoles like the Switch are powerful enough to get a remaster instead of just a port. And finally, of course, a PC version of the first one
I am definitely asking my dad to buy this game when it comes out.
Obviously this looks really high quality, but idk I kinda feel like the bright look kinda makes it feel less gloomy which is what gave the original such a great atmosphere. Still absolutely ecstatic that it even exists at all tho
We really need a remake, re-release, or port of Mickey Mania from the sega Genesis
