Amy I’ve seen a lot of UA-camrs getting new homes and I love them all. But yours is my favorite by far. My taste is just like yours and I know that feeling of excitement when you’re getting ready to move into a new home. Of course that was 23 years ago when my husband built ours . He’s a contractor but I literally felt like I was sleeping in a tree house the way my bedroom is laid out. ❤
Everything is so lovely! It feels cozy already with all the natural light, wood, stone, marble and other fabulous finishes. How much more that coziness will permeate once you add your personal touches with decor. This home will soon become your family's haven to share life together. God is so good and where His presence is welcomed there is peace.❤

Love love love the tan color paint in your entry powder room. With all the white wood and trim the room is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT as is. No need to wallpaper. I also love the same color in your very charming office off the great room. Also really like the paint color upstairs in the kids bedrooms. Your entire home is gorgeous and very well built. I hope you and your family have many wonderful decades of enjoyment

So gorgeous Amy! Love the over grouting on the fireplace. Maybe you can thrift a nice print of some cows grazing for the powder bath instead? I think that would be a great classic look.
Crying happy tears for all of you !!! Such a gorgeous home ...you did a fantastic job planning...can't wait for more to come ! As you turn the house keys over to the new owner's...I can only imagine the excitement as they move into a beautifully loved & cared for home ...I wish them well !!! 🤍🏡🤍
One major issue with the paneled appliances and I do love them , is when the appliance needs to be replaced … And these days , appliances don’t last long :( Most are made to last … Brand new custom built kitchen and I’m on my 3rd refrigerator , third dishwasher … Dishwasher leaked all over my wide plank pine floors and caused extensive damage ! Make sure you have a dishwasher that has a built in pan . My dishwasher leaked for days until I realized , it was leaking under the wood floors and traveling throughout our kitchen
We used brick around our cooktop area. We put our double oven in as well. When the oven needed replacing, 20 years later all of the double ovens were so much larger and didnt fit. We didnt want to tear out our brick as its discontinued so we had to scrounge parts and have it repaired.

I always and forever wanted to design and build my own home, it never happened. The only thing I would advise is to take that TV off the lovely fireplace and put it on a TV stand at eye level. Not only does that TV so high crick necks, but it uglifies that gorgeous mantel and fireplace. My ficus tree that started inside is now outside and 30 ft tall.

When you first announced that you were building a new home, I was kinda sad because I loved your other one so much. Of course I still do but this house is stunning! I love that you have so much land and live in the country. I love the style of the home. So much of it reminds me of the home my daughter and son in law built about three years ago. I cannot wait to see how you turn this one from a house to a home. Congratulations to you, Caleb and the children. I know many new memories will be made here.
