The issue is they could make these trucks cleaner without making them unreliable. Dave from Dave’s Auto talks about it all the time. Most are fine with helping the environment, it’s the way they do it that is the problem.

It's sad that these trucks are killed off sooner because of these emissions systems. And even worse that consumers are attacked for doing this but the government can get these trucks without emissions systems to make them more reliable for government use. The EPA should be responsible for 1 million mile bumper to bumper warranty and that will bankrupt them within a year and I bet they will change their tune. All the other things that cause pollution but we are being forced fed electronic vehicles with no care of the environment but diesels are bad what a joke. Long live the old diesels and WLP for newer ones.
The crazy thing is, nobody voted for any of these silly ppl in the EPA for them to be making these mandates that businesses have to adhere to.

I’m not advocating violence, because we do have a means of changing our political systems via the electoral process. Get involved, vote, get others to vote and continue to speak truth over all of these issues. Be comfortable, being uncomfortable putting facts before those who disagree with you. You might not sway them, but others hearing you speak with authority, knowledge and truth will come to see things your/our way. Our country didn’t become woke in a year, it won’t turn back to normalcy in a year either. Keep fighting the good fight because it’s worth it!
The EPA cannot enact any laws , that job belongs solely to Congress . The EPA is strictly an enforcement arm . Stelantis isn't selling very well right now , because people are afraid they will get stuck with an expensive vehicle with no support behind it , due to the manufacturer going out of business .

Could you do a video on how the WLP could actually be good as you can tune these trucks to be cleaner running then a emissions regulated truck? If we could prove they only sell us clean tunes to use on these new trucks for street use that would benefit us all.
If they could actually prove that all the stuff they want on these trucks is a net positive for the environment, I'm sure a lot more people would be on board with it. They can't prove that.
Well said. Also my 2024 GMC Denali ultimate went to limp mode twice in 19,000 miles. First time truck was down 1 month waiting for def module that failed. Second time egr fail. Out of service for a week and stranded me 500 miles from home. Had to rent a car to get home. Ridiculous

Very good point. My truck - My choice. Let's say I buy a truck with normal size street tires. The EPA estimates the fuel economy is say 18 mpg overall. I proceed to add larger tires, shocks, suspension lift, etc. And say that reduces the overall mpg to 16 (it is probably less). Now, say that I WLP the truck. That adds 2 mpg to the fuel economy. Beefing up the truck is legal even though it lowers fuel economy but WLPing the truck is illegal even though it increases fuel economy? If the EPA decides that anything we do to reduce fuel economy is illegal, we are going to be outlawing all modifications that improve performance. I don't want to go there. I wonder how many "particulate particles" the EPA is actually removing from the air on a diesel with the 3 alphabet gadgets vs letting the engine manufactures tune the engine to get better fuel economy?
The primary goal of our government (wrongly) is to expand. Expansion ensures its' existence. They have a never ending need to extend their tentacles into every aspect of our lives, and to rule and profit from it. They can pass laws at will and then expand as needed to enforce those new laws. Our government is an absolute monster, and the common citizens are helpless victims. We have let this beast grow for decades, but now we must find a way to limit the expansion.

These systems help piston engines coexist with the clean oxygen needs of nature. It also sets a platform for innovation to overcome the dirty side of propulsion. With the onset of more population and freedom of choice, it is better to nail exhaust down to a limit before it exceeds our ability to control it. The jobs it creates is astronomical...it also makes operators better drivers.

Performing my own maintenance fuel and oil filters to ccv, and egr cooler and valve clean outs ...I do have a astronomical difference in performance. At 77 years I do appreciate the evolution of tech! Its good for constant improvement. Having had a new 69 Mach from Ft Hood in Temple, TX and a 70 Torino GT Cobra w/functional hood scoop at Ft Carson, Co Moter City, Colorado Springs, Co having the best at the time in nothing but junk now. Nice to look at in pictures but they had their place in time.

You really need to educate yourself about the dangers of diesel particulates, not saying the epa gets everything right but the asthma rates in this country among kids had become a serious issue. Go down to Mexico City and see what unregulated diesel exhaust does to the air. It is a bigger issue than just you wanting to tinker with your Truck. The manufacturers have built a substandard system to comply with the target regulations, this is the real problem.

My truck my choice is a good movement to get behind. I honestly wouldn’t even mind paying for a tax stamp to delete my truck at this point, it’s just ridiculous that deleting a truck is viewed as an attack on the environment like other countries don’t burn tires everyday
The EPA is like most govt agencies. The reason for them being created was good but they've gotten too big and too powerful. Congress makes laws. Not govt agencies. The ATF like to do the same shit
Innovation rules the land. We can do all of the things the government wants and have a clean truck. DPF is technology from 2010, and there are plenty of companies that can help keep these trucks clean with all the horseshit emmiaions crap on them. The EPA doesn't want clean trucks. They want a pipeline of money thru fines so they can justify their jobs.

I agree completely. They dictate to us but they do the opposite. All gov trucks they order for themselves have ZERO emissions. How can they get away with no DPF, SCR, EGR block off plates, but make us keep them. Someone should bring law suit
I’m not an expert on diesels but I’m pretty sure adding more chemicals and restrictions isn’t any better than a regular diesel engine. Also I’m pretty sure a lot of people say diesel is bad just bc of the smoke from the exhaust.

Most of the devices installed to "protect" the environment on these vehicles substantially reduce fuel economy yet that's better for the environment? My 2022 Ram was getting up to 18 city and 28 highway before it was recalled and reprogrammed it, now 10 city and 16 highway. They're starting the fire so they can play hero.

Next, try doing so next to a deleted diesel truck. Next, have your family do the same. That might change your mind about being concerned about your truck breathing better, and maybe you will be more concerned about yourself breathing better. Externalities are natural failures of the perfect competition model in microeconomics. That is the reason we need regulation and tax policies to correct them. I myself own a diesel truck. Like you, I hate the emissions stuff. But, I hate more having that shit exhaust up in the air for all of us to breadth. You can choose to either insult me or engage in a dialogue using sound logic.

Diesel exhaust is carcinogenic. With out emission reduction all the rivers and people living along the highways would be affected. People used to smoke indoors and in public places not anymore because what you do can affect others.
Do you have independent studies to cite or just government data? Is it just diesel fuel?
