Nice finds once again. And I find myself laughing out loud every time Drew says, “we can go home now!” It just never gets old with me. I was starting to be concerned also so glad to see a video pop up. Congrats on your retirement, Drew!
Thank you Susan! 👋😃😎👍 I was only planning to take one week off from UA-cam... We had a lot going on (mostly good). But I became exhausted by the end of week two. 😛 And this week we found weasels in our garage! 😬 What next? We love animals, but gotta draw the line somewhere! Didn't mean to worry you. Glad you never tire of Drew "We can go home now" 😂 It's so automatic at this point. By that last marble, it really was late! Drew always has a hard time getting me out of the river! 😁💖

Hi Cynthia, Yes, this new retirement is definitely taking some adjusting to! We did way too much right away, first two weeks, and became exhausted! (Hence our absence). But it was great to get out in our fav river again... Picking our Assabet! 🤣 I agree about that doll 😵. The creepy doll section of our basement is TRULY disturbing! 😬 They are bad enough on their own, but... all together, yikes! Some nice bottle finds though, and just great to be out there! I don’t know why but am now becoming a fan of those creepy dolls you keep finding. The photo on the front of your book “It came from the Assabet” of that doll sitting on the tire …. Is both alluring & scary as heck. As if to say “come join me in my weird little black hole pool …. IF you dare”

Drew wants to do all those things he's put off for decades, (but all in a week or two! 😬) And I want to go everywhere! As Drew would say, (quoting Dr. Smith, on Lost in Space) " Oh, the pain, the pain."

The creepy dolls are taking over downstairs. We left that doll (on the book cover) sitting in the tire, just like that, for someone else to discover! 🤣 -Cathy

Hi Sarah! We did not intend to be away so long, but sometimes life catches up with me. 😬 We are fine, but are adjusting to Drew's new retirement! 😃. A couple of weeks of going and doing (vids to come!) Followed by exhaustion 😛. I was actually too exhausted to edit videos!! Nice to know that we are cared about! 💖 Thank you for that! Sorry so long.. I should have at least put something on the community page.

Hello Cathy & Drew, This is a nice video and Lew and I enjoyed watching it very much. Nice bottle and marble finds. The little white porcelain bowl is nice find and you guys could still use it. LOL! Nice embossed Brown amber beer bottle! The rubber axe looks to be a Auburn toy. Some are not always marked Auburn and just Made in U S A. I have found toys like that. Lew and I like the Holden Milk bottles you found and wouldn't mind possibly buying one from you guys. Lew just turned 29 on May 15th and had a nice birthday. I think I put two videos of that day on our Jeffrey Hull Jr UA-cam channel. Lew and I have found older orange clay plant pots like the one you found and I found a old gray clay one digging in a dump about ten years ago. That last med bottle with the stuff in it is a awesome find to. We hope to dig soon together and Lew went twice digging with a friend of ours. I didn't go because I was ill for a while and Lew found some nice bottles. I'm doing a little better and have a check up with my doctor on May 28th 2024. I still need my knee replacement to. In case you didn't notice, we took a three week break from UA-cam... We needed it. Happy belated birthday to Lew! I had a bday this month also! (But I'm not telling my age 😄). We're o.k., we've just had a LOT going on. Two weeks off cuz we were busy, and a third week off cuz we were exhausted. Anyway, it was great that we could grab the opportunity to get into our favorite river! Water was still a bit high though. I thought that rubber axe was probably Auburn, but could not confirm. Pretty sure those Holder milk bottles are the same as the ones you guys bought from us a few years back?
(Except for the backwards "N" quart). Not all of the quarts have that. Hope all goes well with your knee, when you get it done.
Be careful out there! (Digging, etc.)

Hi Katrina!! 👋😃😎👍 Great to hear from you! This was our first opportunity to get into the Assabet, so far this year. We are still not back to "normal" since last year's record rainfalls. Was looking at that milk glass bowl 🥣. It might have been a set with a grinding stone. A pharmacy would use them to grind down pills to powder.

Happy retirement Drew. Cathy those teeth were false teeth right? Kind of creepy. So many fun river finds. Thank you for cleaning up the river as much as you can handle. Were there old dumps back in the day that just eroded and things went into the river. So nice to see you both out having fun.👍👏😀
Hi There! 👋😃😎👍 Yes, the teeth were false, but very REAL looking! 😬 We take one bucket of trash out per trip. Occasionally two. We make piles with the rest for easy pick up next time. We used to lead large groups of volunteers once a year. We are going on twenty years removing trash from this river! Some washes out from river banks, but people dumped directly into the river in places! Trash also collects around corners, from upstream. We don't show you everything!! We are making a difference though. -Cathy 💖

More marbles are always great to find. The bottle that has an N backwards is that rare? Would it be a collector’s item? Hi Susan 👋😃, Yup, we're back in the river! The brown teapots are fairly common in two designs: the Chinaman smoking pipe, (shown in the video), and even more popular were the Rebekah at the well teapots (same color and shape). We have both. As for the backward "N" milk bottle... We have found a few examples, but most of those H.S Holder quarts so not have the backward N. It is an error bottle, and some people collect error bottles (myself included). That doll.. well, she has joined the others, in the basement. Hope you had a great weekend! -Cathy 💖

We need to adjust to this new "retired life" Lol I was exhausted by end of week two!! 😛 We went on another marble hunt too: a new record! Also a bottle show (on our way to another bottle swap meet as I write this! Don't worry, Drew is driving 😁) It was great to be back in our old river again, although the water was still a bit high. The chemist bottle with the crystalized contents was a new one for me... And the beer bottle was a different variant. How about that creepy doll! 😵 Oh, BTW, we have weasels in our garage! 😬 As much as we love animals, this is not a good thing!! We are in the process of evicting them. What next? Hi Amanda, Yes, I filmed the bottle event. It was a small turn out, but we found a few nice things, and then went to the button dump! 😃 Many good finds there, since the heavy rains of last week. Best time to surface hunt dumps: after heavy rain! Not sure if it will be two separate videos or one. 🤔 Anyway, I still have a previous bottle meet to put up first! (And the marble hunts.. I am so behind in editing.) Went to the beach (swimming beach) last week also: shelling. I prob have enough vids for a year now... Even if we stay home, but all need editing. Yes, weasels are bad. I only feel bad because they couldn't help being born weasels. ☹️
They are vicious. They kill (decapitate) animals, and leave them around.. often not even eating what they kill. They like mice best, but will take bunnies or even chucks! We hope our chucks were not victims already.. we were expecting to see young ones by now. Weasels also smell bad. Probably from all the dead things in their nest. Therefore, our garage smells terrible, and it was spreading into the house. 😝 So that is why they need to leave. (Probably way more than you needed to know). Drew was complaining about his "to do list" and said "then the weasel popped up" I said "pop goes the weasel!" 😂 He had to laugh, despite his frustration.
