I’m always amazed the amount of work Sherpa accomplishes in a day. He has his chauffeur to drive him to pick up and pay for the supplies, then it’s down to business on the project. He does exceptionally well considering he doesn’t have thumbs. 😂 Lots of love to my two handsome boys from Tennessee USA. 💕🐾

@@Debra.Justice I am doing ok. My workload as increased a lot and will continue to increase over the next week or so. So I am fairly busy right now. I wish it was a cushy job where all I had to do was sit at a desk, but I will be moving heavy boxes and moving things around so that I can fit a lot of stuff in a small cramped space. I know by the end of each day I will be tired and than I will have to do it all again the next day. Mom is doing well. She started PT again so that will help her regain strength and more confidence. I am so proud of her for pushing through and continuing the fight. The weather is definitely getting warm here as well. I am going to have to hook up the air conditioner again and run it almost nonstop until Sept. Ughhh as well! Have a good night.🤗❤️
Sherpa makes an excellent foreman. He observes and checks but doesn’t criticise too much! The summer house looks finished now that you have put in those extra boards.
Please check under the summerhouse for hedgehogs. They are coming out of hibernation and the females will be looking for nest sites. Your summerhouse is dry, warm and quiet so a mother hog will love it.
If you Jamie, or anyone reading this, would consider setting up a hedgehog nest box or feeding station and be happy supplementary feeding them with kitten/puppy food (not fish) and need some advice give me a shout.
I’m a volunteer with Caerphilly Hedgehog Rescue in South Wales and will be more than happy to help.

Jamie please leave the gaps in the baseboards for small animals to go under the summer house during the winter months to hibernate as it's going to be warmer than under the hedges .

That way you won’t have a gap between the two where the grass will grow between the two plus the structure will be stronger if it was fastened on to the summer house!!

Jamie I hate to tell you this but you really should not have those boards you installed on your summer house/shed down touching or in the ground because not only will it cause the bottom board to rot but it will act as a wick and cause the boards above it to mildew/mold as well as rot. A better solution to accomplish your goal of closing the bottom off would be to place a vapor barrier on the ground and then either install your boards or better yet remove the grass under the edge of the shed and install/lay a course of bricks or paver stones/blocks on a bed of a couple of inches of sand and then install your boards. Additionally the shed extension you should grub up the grass that you are constructing the extension over as then spread level out a few inches of sand and top it with pea gravel or pavers

There is a store in town that sells specialty woods, which is even cooler. My husband used to go there for special projects including banjo buidling.
It's so much cheaper doing it yourself haha

Hi Jamie, I have just googled the price of your lawnmower and got a shock. Keeping it outside in a lean to shelter is not good for its long term condition and is a temptation for thieves. Having to replace it due to theft would be a huge financial blow.
Think you should keep the mower in the shed as it’s lockable, farm equipment (ride on mowers are a target for thieves)

I would have "cheated" attached the back boards to the summer house. That way you would only have to build 3 walls because the one wall is already there and would use less materials to make. The little gap between your new build and the summer house might be hard to get a mower into.

You could always plants some ornamental grass types along the edge of shed where wood hits the gras.if it keeps to short. Barely any maintenance. Can take a punch as well standing on it. These should be called how to be a handydog and handyman😊, also how not to do certain things or think ahead😂. Looking good Jamie. Becoming a great shed this way and shelter for outdoors during rain❤
Just a word of warning, if you do this, don't get Pampas Grass. It is a mess to maintain, and it is terrible to get up or kill. It could cut Sherpa, also.

Doing home projects are great. Someone probably has already said, that you're going to need a center post on each wall for structure strength and nailing of the ship lap siding. Have fun, take your time, there will be mistakes, that's part of improving your home.

Hi Jamie, just wear a mask please to prevent that cement dust from going on your lungs permanently when you mix it with water. It happened to my uncle and he had emphysema for the rest of his life.
