Wickford is a town in the south of the English county of Essex, with a population of more than 33,000. Located approximately 30 miles east of London, it falls within the Borough of Basildon along with the original town of Basildon, Billericay, Laindon and Pitsea.
Wickford has become a commuter town, serving the City of London through its railway station's direct connection to Liverpool Street station through the Southend Victoria line, on which a train to London takes approximately 40 minutes. Wickford is a fairly small town with a main high street including a range of shops.

Lived in wickford for nearly 8years. I truly loved each and every day, the people the town everything about it. I miss my time there so very much as I consider it my 2nd home. I wish I could live there again unfortunately does not seem a dream which will be a reality. However I atleast have some precious memories & freinds I treasure.
This was pretty cool, I live in Essex, been to Wickford several times, they have a well known Record Shop there and they deal in rare vinyl. Great to see it again 😉😊 Sending my best to you

I grew up in wickford and haven't been back for 30+ years and I do t recognise it at all
It looks like a London overspill. Not very nice. Sorry
I lived there from about 1967 to 1981 when I then joined the RAF and escaped. My parents moved away in 1989. It's easy to criticise Wickford, but most towns in the UK are ugly now. The same old charity shops, nail bars, takeaways, litter and graffiti.
I've travelled a fair bit with work, and feel no need to move back to Wickford, as my quiet Suffolk village is all I need... heading towards retirement.
I've some fond memories of the place, but I don't think there has ever been anything special about it.

A close friend who lived there for several years said it was one of the most mind numbing and soul destroying experiences of his life, he was so happy to leave this dump.
I lived there for 21, he was right.
I lived here for the first 8 years of may life so odd seeing it now, the wh smiths used to have a cafe in the back. new look used to be a co op. where Alda is used to be a pub called the castle my family have a long history with the pub
