Amputation took 90% of my pain.
Five years ago March 31st I had my left below the knee amputation. I went through similar things my left leg damaged due to a spinal cord operation. Over 147 surgeries to try to fix it and later try to get the infections I got out of my bone and tissue. This all being from age 5-31. Sepsis and MRSA finally made the decision for me and it was the best thing to ever happen to me. I can now run, ride a bike, and many other things I could never do so I never allow people to pity me. I once thought I’d end my life if I lost my leg but I know see how much life I lost due to trying to keep it. If I can get through something like this anyone can, you don’t have to be a beast athlete cause I surely am not. This woman is beautiful remember the pain I can’t imagine how she climbed in that state.

Inspiration to us fellow chronic pian suffers. I had a motor bike accident 11 years ago and have had 6 surgeries to fix my left leg. Chronic pain suffer due to it. I broke my femur, tibia and ankle. 18 months recovery to walk again. Over the last 10 years ive faced some issues around my leg and am now looking at a lower knee amputation. Ive had the last 2 years thinking about it and now have made the decision to go ahead with it. Ive been held back from all the issues ive had with my leg and think that this will benefit me more than having my leg. Thanknyou for doing this video as it shows how much strenth and determination you have.

This was great, she's amazing, but as a chronic pain sufferer I was wondering how she manages her pain. Especially since I live in America where A LOT (hundreds of thousands) of people with chronic pain are having their lives turned upside down because of our government. I love how strong she is, it's inspiring.

This is so tough hearing other counties journies. I’ve only just realised there were comments on this that I haven’t seen. We didn’t show the darker sides of pain in this film. I held back a lot Because I knew my tamariki/my children would be watch it .
I am supported with a team that looks after physical and mental health and ACC provides some home help a week for the walking house work . (4 hours) . Climbing drowns out the pain for me. . The fear of falling does that! So I run to it (figuratively) over and over.
I have now amputated to try and make it better - but with rare nerve complications I have crazy levels of pain still - take a sleeping tablet every night - struggle to eat and fuel my body. My kids are my shaving grace. And opportunities to share. In my speaking we get into the real tough grit of it but I was new to cameras here and helps back. Feel free to reach out - rachelmaianz on IG. I am happy to help if I can

Thank you so much! Incredibly inspirational and informational. As a father with a disability, it’s great to see other parents rocking it too. And Rachel is doing BEYOND amazing! 😎

What is the purpose of the premiere function from a channel's point of view? All it does for me, as a viewer, is annoy me when I click on it and it says it premiers in three days. This isn't TV, it's basically an on demand service.

Perhaps a great way to rephrase your question would be “what do you love about it charlotte - and is there anything else you’d like to share with us about her ?” That gives the parent AND Charlotte (she’s capable to choose what she talks about and discloses) the opportunity to share more if they like .
When I read “what does Charlotte have?”
The answer that comes to mind is a family that adores her, endless possibilities, many challenges ahead but always in a supporting community that have watched her grow and flourish.
We don’t really do labels here. She has them . She has a chromosome special edition. But we just don’t go into them because she’s so much more than that ❤️❤️
Just a wee bit of food for thought in giving parents gracious opportunity to speak but also handing us an out if we really don’t want to go there today . ☺️
