Not everyone was broken... only the broken characters. You're a stupid for thinking every character was broken. And no, Jin wasn't the only bad character in T5, either.
People saying launch Leroy was worse are utterly clueless. Any top char from T5 would steamroll every T7 char easily, including vanilla shaheen, S1 steve or paul, and last but not least, Launch Leroy and Fahk. The comparison doesn't even make sense, since it's apples and oranges. Even though launch leroy or og shaheen could destroy their opposition, with minimal execution, at their respective time in T7, they are mechanically different chars than the T5 monsters. Even if we could put a "not-op/mid tier" T5 char in T7, but allow them to keep their great movement and properties of their moves, they would need a brand new SS+ tier for themselves, above T7 akuma, julia, zafina, etc.
@@christian1329 Let's just say you could legit play him with 2 moves. Watching any tourneys from the early days of T7 would make it clear. Shaheen's 4,1 jailed, and was -2, so it could be literally spammed, even at the top level. A high-high CH launcher, that you couldn't duck on reaction, had pretty good recovery (so even ducking on read gave a ws i11 punish mostly), and if you blocked that, Shaheen could beat all your mids with dickjabs/jabs. So yeah, he was pretty braindead. I don't mind easy-to-use characters, and I do enjoy Shaheen these days, but back then he must've caused brain paralysis after extensive use.
@@christian1329 Well, it's still a superfast high-high CH launcher, but it is much more commital now. They changed both the recovery on whiff, and it also doesn't jail now. So, when hit by 4, you can, if you're familiar with it, crouch on reaction to evade the 1. Of course shaheen can mix you up with 4, 4 which knocks down for decent damage, but that is unsafe (i think -13?), so it's a legit gamble/read for both players. Furthermore, if you guess correctly and duck the 4,1, you can more easily punish shaheen, whereas back in arcade T7, you both couldn't duck the 2nd hit, and it also recovered much faster. For instance now, in season 4 (and 3, probably also 2) i know from personal experience that, should you duck the 2nd hit, you can launch him with i15-16 launchers, like most hopkicks, not sure about slower stuff though.

I have to disagree I think there are more broken characters in previous like Ttag jack T3 gon, jin,dr boskanovich, king Beak t2 Heihatchi t1 Jin t6 I mean I can go on and on here lol

T1 Heihachi was purposefully overpowered though, he's the final boss. T6 was when Jin breached mid-tier. Nowhere near as strong as Bob and Lars. I mean, I can go on and on, but you get my point.
8 frame jab wasn't super scary. Practically 90% of the Tekken roster had 8f jab. The ones that did not have 8f 1 were Mishimas, Jacks, Hwo and Baek, King (his jab became 9 frames in T5.0 and before that it was 10f as well), Feng (his b+1 was still 8f). When done as f+1 everyone's 8f jab was changed to 10f.
