- Wire loom and split tubing is great for protecting wires in the engine bay or other areas outside the vehicle. The problem is it can be time consuming to install wires into it, and the jagged edge can hurt your fingers. How can we quickly install wires into wire loom? A wire loom tool is the solution!

Another handy tool to have on hand so that you don't cut your hands while you're hand installing wire into a vehicle by hand ヽ(•‿•)ノ Woo!
CarAudioFabrication awesome video today!
Sad, they won't ship to Australia :(
CarAudioFabrication This is getting out of hand.
Clint L maybe someone will lend you a hand and you can work out a solution together. ✌️
hey mark! love your videos man. i bet you could 3d print something like this
Those tools are AWESOME! My thumbs and index fingers ARE RAW...from adding just two accessories on a motorcycle. Thank You Mark! NOW My fingers, manicurist, and WIFE also appreciate! 👋
OMG I love you!!! I've been saying every time I loom a backup camera that there's just gotta be a better way!!! This will save me so much time/money at work!! Not to mention the countless cuts in the fingers.
I was buying bulk loom on the Grainger website, and passed on the tool at first, but after watching this video I added the tool to my cart. I have a lot of under chassis wiring to do on my pickup adding lights, accesories, etc. With cut resistant gloves on, this should make installation a snap. Great recommendation!
Wow, first the super simple wire twisting wheel, now this. I really need to start thinking about the tool side of car audio. Cause both of these are such a simple idea. Yet any installer, pro or hobbyist, would be well served by these tools.
Works, Great!!!! What a pain and frustration saver.
wow that was quick and easy. thank you for your great tool updates and info. I like your demonstration on the old way of wire looming. i still do that and maybe no longer will i have to worry about that old skool way.
Great video as always! Very timely as I need to reloom two cars for FI and CA!!! TY!!!
That’s a great tip. You have my sincere gratitude.
That is a genius tool Mark, Thanks for sharing.
These are GENIUS!
Very nice!
What a set of bombass tools. This could have been real handy back in the day. I got to get that set! Count me in! The slickest thing since sliced bread. Excellent!🎸👍🏻
Wow.. Seen this in a catalog. Was sceptical. Will be ordering
Kool that looks bad ass those loom are pain in the butt to work with. I soon will order some just to have them when ever I might need them n make my life easier. Thanks man keep them up.
Great tool review
just got this exact set, id be forcing wires for hours without these. thank you for the video
That tool will save so much time!!;
great Loom Idea! I just purchased from your link!
Great Video Thank you
Very cool!
I just found about these a day or two ago. Nice!
Thank u really helpful bro 👌
Perfect tool....
This is an awesome product! Unfortunately it's about two days too late LOL 😂😂😂
Been there...A day late and dollar short. 😆 lol
Freaking amazing. Omg so much easier! Thanks!
This blew my mind.
That's amazingly fast!
thanks
Awesome.
Where has this black magic been all my life?!? Just ordered it from your link!
So good for the tiny room when running cameras I'm pretty quick with anything bigger than half inch but for that 3/8 stuff that's super fast
Nice man!! It’s like magic (;
This is a game changer
MAGIC !!!!!!
Nice!!
Hey mark, please make a deatiled video on A pillar speaker /tweeter pod. About mounting angle, how to make them. (if a car doesn't have a pillar panel?) Love to see it.
Ok, here you go! ua-cam.com/video/neDSi4g1CeQ/v-deo.html
Awsome😊
This guy earns his money.
thanx
I just ordered a couple of them!👍 Wish I knew about it a few months back! Now I can redo it properly!
What about the spiral loom?
Thank you 🔈🔉🔊
:)
You should also post this as an Amazon Product review to the product page.
Where was ths item 35 years ago when I was working for a company that made custom vans.....this would have saved me many days of torn open blisters and cut up hands
I subscribed!
U the best
cool!
Perfect for my work😅
Life savers
Cool
very handy mark
Definitely nice to have on hand!
You should demo it on installed wires on a car with no cuts. (e.g installing a wire loom on your existing wiring, not the other way around). That's where that slit on the tool comes in handy and the real purpose of the tool shines.
Very informative video nonetheless and thank you for the links. Cheers!
yeah this os what i actually care about. show me a guy using while halfway upside down crammed in the back of a trunk trying to fit new larger gauge speaker wire in the facotry bundles
CAF your jobs are differentiated!
How to calculate rectangular duct?
can you make a video on " Difference between neodymium vs normal speakers" pros and cons of both, i'm not able to find anything till now.
Wow. I'd probably rarely use them but I need them lol
That seems like a great project to 3d print. Time to get drawing.
These are cheap, literally wouldn't be worth the material / time cost
@@CarAudioFabrication I can't see it taking more than 5 to 10 min to draw up. Print time wouldn't really matter being one can do other thins as its going.
More economical, maybe, but how about when you need a different size one? Scale, print. Now you have unlimited custom sizes.
@Peter Evans Good for you.
This tool alone makes me want to be a car audio installer ;-)
Can you please go back in time and tell my 18-year-old self about these tools? Please???
Hola amigo buenos consejos saludos
Gracias mi amigo. Gracias por ver mis videos.
good tool. if you make a small wrap of electrical tape over the wire, then pass the wire through the tool. then make a couple passes around the loom, it'll hold the loom and wire together.
Amazzzing we're do it get these tools how much
Who would have thought it was this simple all along.
Much simpler, and cheaper, is to hold the wire to be installed against the split in the wire in the loom and then bend the wire loom away from the wire at about a 60 degree angle. This opens up the split in loom nicely, then simply hold the wire/wire loom and slide it along your index finger allowing the wire to be inserted.
That is what I've been doing, but the issue is that it does not always work, and especially if I've cut my thumb on something else. Invariably, with a cut thumb, I manage to get that cut opened back up by the edge of the loom. I'm older, and it takes much longer to heal now, so a tool is a nice benefit for someone like me.
I saw something like this at a thrift shop one time, but it was only one size and they wanted more than it was worth. It was made for a different market, but I don't specifically remember what it was for.
Cool video. After wire is inside the loom' is there a need to tape the loom every "x" distance?
😮😮😮 how have I never seen this 😮 🤦♂️
got to 1:59 and i already loom like a boss
Would this work for a spiral wire loom???
I used those many years ago, worked great on smaller gauge wire when you got to larger gauge wire 4 or 2 ga it was a pain
I have found it makes things a ton easier, even with larger wires. I even tried 0 gauge and it zipped right in.
I use fishing tape from Harbor Freight Tools. Push it all the way through, tape the wire to the end and pull it back through. But this might be faster.
How does it work with 50'?
One thing you didn't mention, and I think I'm right on this..let's say you have a wire already run but not in the loom. It looks like you can drop the wire in even though it's terminated at both ends and join the wire into the loom. You were inserting the wire INTO the tool THEN inserting the tool and wire into the loom. My situation (fiber optic cable..unprotected) requires the wire (FO) be left in place. There are signals on it but it needs to be protected or groups joined. It looks like this tool will do that. Is that your opinion too?
Yes wire can be terminated at both ends
Damit why didn't you show me sooner my fingers would have really appreciated this
Be super nice on how to wire a amp to your door speakers.
DUDE!!!!!
So what about wires that are already installed into a vehicle? For example, I usually crimp a terminal on my power wire, push it threw the vehicle grommet and then route and loom it. Could I still do this or would I need to loom the wire prier to running it threw the firewall (kinda like using that "Chinese finger trap" loom)?
+1dickycat because the tool has the opening you can spin around you can loom wires that are already connected on both ends.
CarAudioFabrication That's it then.. I'm buying a set lol. On a side note, Ive been following the production of rockfords DSR1. Being an ex-installer I know this would have made things 10x easier. Are you gonna be doing your own videos on the product? It seems like a game changer in my eyes.
you know you can just use a wrench? those are prob more handy if the loom is already on the car, or the wire is already attached, but you can use line wrenches or box wrenches, works very well.
The wiring that goes into a car is called the 'wiring loom'. That black piping you're talking about is called 'trunking' or 'shroud'.
Its called loom. Its literally sold as loom.
@@CarAudioFabrication Must be one of those British/American terminology differences lol. np :)
Fuck.... Well that's a lot easier. Definitely buying this for my next job
Id call it split conduct
What's up bro
Yoooooooooo
Черт. Реально удобная штука.
Oh man I usually run the loom after it's installed
Old video, but damn, this would have saved me so many cut thumbs, from running 20+ feet of wire in looms.
High temperature Plex loom . Works better
I see that you're maturing there Mark. I know it took a lot of restraint not to make any sexual innuendos.
Aaaaawwwww!😔I think one just slipped out at the end. You were so close...so close.
(cough cough) That's what she said.
Great tool, but I hate that plastic loom!!!
It's cool but it's not a tool would buy unless I do that for a living ,items like this she be sold when u buy loom
And...it's ribbed for her pleasure! Seriously though, that's pretty cool.
You never got back to me
Shut up and take my money. I wish I knew about these tools a few years ago.
I can see the need if you were a professional.
Real men dont use tools like that.
I assure you, real men don't belittle people over something as abysmal as the use of a tool.
