Some viewers may be interested in some previous videos about Land Rovers. They're at my previous channel, Riverport Rovers.

Here is the build series about my truck. A rather modified Series II Land Rover.

I rather silly build and road trip to the famous Land Rover Winter Romp in Maine.

A slightly less silly road trip to Cape Breton that does involve painting flames on a Land Rover.

The series that started it all. A crazy plan to build a Land Rover in one day from assorted bits lying around.

There's a few other videos that might be of interest at Riverport Rovers including the beginning of a Boler trailer refit.

Peter, I am 62 years old and have been watching boat life from the beginning. Every episode is a treasure however the engine start and prop wash got me out of my chair doing my happy dance, thank you, thank you, thank you
I clapped alone when the engine started ...
And i am 62 too
@@MrELOIGOMES was that awesome or what
I cried. I mean something was in my eye.
Incredibly happy for you Peter. "AND NO SMOKE" LOL
It's a diesel, something must be wrong.
dont let out the MAGIC smoke.....
"To a running boat" My wife did not understand why I got excited to see this engine start.... Until I told her I had ten bucks in it. Congrats.
In the words of Sir Winston Churchill...”We make a living with what we get, but make a life by what we give”...thank you for what you give!
Peter, your channel shows that humanity is not lost, given the absolutely insane world in which we live. The kindness and generosity of your viewers gives me hope. And I would be remiss if I didn't throw in the WOTD by saying Thank You Thank You Thank You for having your channel, which allows me and all of your viewership to vicariously live along side you on M/V Geordie. Your episodes are going to be a Godsend, especially as I go under the knife (yet again) to finally fix my knee, which means I'll be laid up for a few weeks. I'm looking forward to the haul out and what you find/repair.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have propwash! Congrats Peter on achieving a momentous milestone!
Love It, Love It, Love It!!!
This is so exciting.... I am really happy for you Peter... This is a long time coming... and "Thank YOU" for allowing us the privilege to follow and live this with you... A big CHEERS to you and everyone supporting you and who have been along for the journey... Cant wait for the next chapters.
It's alive! I assume you took the bung out of the exhaust at the transom. Stay healthy and we'll see you next week.
Probably the most heartfelt "thank you" I've ever heard! Cheers, Peter.
God bless you, Peter. You deserve this beautiful moment. Virtual hug.....
Oh you wouldn't believe how much pleasure seeing that propeller shaft spinning round gives me, congratulations, well done!!!!
"I'll just put a screw in here and no one will ever know" LOL! What a day, Peter! Maybe your awesomest day yet. That engine looks and sounds dang good. Prop wash!
We all "thank you" for inviting us onto your boat each an every week an sharing all the great work you do. I think the only thing im not looking forward to I don't know about others. is you getting the boat complete. That is said and meant in the nicest way possible :-)
yessss!!! one video everyday!!!! cheersssss
"To a running engine". Congratulations Peter, all the viewers, and contributors. Wow! Incredible journey to this milestone. Looking forward to a great summer, virtually, with MV Geordie.
Honestly peter how on earth did you resist slipping the lines and doing a lap around the marina? From here Peter it looks amazing, the instrument panel the engine bay the steps, all of it, the attention to detail is just wow! Thank you peter!
Congratulations sir. With the push of a button, you have magically transformed a helpless, static, floating, raft into a powerful, dynamic, self-propelled, boat. The sudden change in value potential is enormous, and you got it right! It's a proud accomplishment.
How far you have come since that day of angst on the shore that was behind you today, confessing that the 'new' Perkins engine would not work, that you needed a new engine, and that you needed help. The community you have created was very happy to step up to help. I was very pleased to be in a position to be one of them, and hearing that motor come to life today was wonderful. Also, I LOVE the work you have done on the helm and dials. Really good stuff. The damage you have done to my life is immeasurable, as I am now looking for a boat to own me.
Peter, you must be happier than a Gopher in soft dirt....lol Congrats!
Good afternoon peter. Love seeing you bringing that old girl to life
Damn Peter, You are definitely spoiling us this week. Loving it or should that be love it love it love it LOL
Thank you for letting me be a part of your journey. Thank you for taking us with you and Thank you for just being you. We like you!
Three videos in three days... "Love it! Love it! Love it!"
Thank you - three videos in as many days is a real treat. Congratulations on the new running engine.
What a special moment Peter! I felt goosebumps when the engine started and was filled with joy by watching your excitement and happiness throughout the entire episode. Get a bigger jerrycan and take her to a small spin Lol. Congrats Peter, I'm very happy for you!
‘Patience’.. great videos!
You showed remarkable restraint in not casting off the lines and taking a cruise around the harbor.
No, Peter, thank you for bringing us joy every saturday !!
your gratitude is obvious as your 'thank you' was expressed -but we wouldn't be watching if we didn't appreciate your effort to understand the issues and then pass on the information by actually doing the work required. So thank you for your hard work as you deal with all the hassles with a sense of humour. Who knew rebuilding a boat could be so engaging? So thank you for making it so!
Thank you for taking the time to share your projects and adventures with us. Thank you also for the two extra episodes this weekend. Love it, love it, love it.
Thank you for allowing us to come aboard and witness your journey!
Congratulations Peter, and thank you to all my fellow subscribers who made this happen. I donated a minuscule amount, but it all added up to move MV Geordie from barge to boat status.
It feels so good to hear her run, I am so happy to see her come together. That is going to be an amazing setup.
That is one of the cleanest panels I have seen.
Not only is she a beautiful boat, but she is now a functional boat, that Beta sounds smooth! I suspect she will give you years of trouble free service.
I am really happy for you!
She is alive! Congratulations to work well done! And actually, I think we all thank you for sharing this with us!
Thank you for pushing forward and bringing MV Geordie to this moment! And thanks even more for bringing us along! It’s amazing what you know, how every wire and sending unit gets identified and explained... Just Wow!
Love it, Love it, Love it!
Absolute milestone!!! Thank you for all the awesome content over the years and for returning after the Riverport era.
Came in for lunch, watched a video.
yes yes yes at last :-)
I might have got a little something in my eye there.
Well done on getting it this far and here's to the next chapter 😀
A great moment when that thing came to life in .5 seconds....Nice work.
Glad to witness your long-awaited moment. A great milestone and the engine sounds really sweet. Congratulations and well done, Peter.
To a running boat engine!!! Thank you, thank you for letting us be a part of your achievement and look forward to seeing the haul out and many more achievement!!!
No Peter.
Thank you!
Thank you for taking us along on this incredible journey.
I cut the cable television years ago.
UA-cam is now one of my major sources of entertainment, and for some strange reason, wooden boats are one of my favorites.
Woohoo! She’s alive...
Very happy for you Peter! Was great to see you fire up the Beta. Thank you, we’ve all been looking forward to this. Cheers!
Congratulations on the successful startup. Nice to see no evil events during the process. 50yrs as a marine diesel mechanic I've seen my share of evil events, even after minor repairs or maintenance. Thank you for all the entertainment value the past few years!!
Awesome !!! Sooo pleased for you Peter ! Glad I could help make this day a reality !!!
Kind regards from NZ. John.
Thank you for the effort you have put into your videos over all these years Peter
Congratulations Peter!!!! That was a perfect startup. I love the gauges. Thank you Peter, for filing your journey and sharing it with us. I love your videos! I can't wait to see what you have planned for the wiring.
THANKYOU Peter👏👏. I can literally smell the British Columbia sea air. And.....no smoke😁😁.
Think I need to crack a beer for geordie🍾🍻🍺 yes I know it’s Monday in the U.K. but we’ll worth it!!
Gratz Peter! MV/Geordie just changed status from floating home to cruising boat! (Almost there!) I'll have a dram of Ardbeg to celebrate that! (Any reason is good for a little Ardbeg...)
Cheers to MV Geordie and Thank You Peter.
Congratulations Peter! This is such an exciting benchmark for your boat and you! I am really happy to hear that motor purr along. Travels are not far away!
This is the apotheosis; it has become a motorboat again. Instead of a boat with now and then a motor in it.
Congratulations!!
Excellent progress! Love that engine purr! Thank you, for all of your efforts to provide the viewers with fantastic content. Thank you Peter!
Recommendation, fashion an aluminum metal cover to keep the wires from vibrating into the steering gear.
You do nice work! Keep going.
JIM
Peter, thank you. I follow about fifteen boat channels on UA-cam. Yours is the only non sailing channel. Of those fifteen I really look forward to five. In no particular order Onboard Lifestyle, Salt and Tar, Acorn to Arabella, Sail Life and of course Travels With Geordie. There are others but those are the ones I look forward to. Thank you. Your boat is wonderful and getting more wonderful all the time. Your carpentry is outstanding and I can’t wait to see the boat when all your plans are completedish. Is that a word? Thank you. Keep up the great work. Oh! And thank you for the three episodes this week.
Well it's been a while coming and you've had more than your fair share of set backs along the way but the day has finally arrived when MV Geordie came back to life !
This gives me enormous pleasure and knowing it was made possible by strangers around the world just makes it so special ! Did I detect a small tear in your eye at the end there Peter ?
I have really enjoyed watching this old boat being restored over the years and your attention to detail is always so good to see. Now that you have an all new engine and electrics and you are putting in new tanks and plumbing and you are about to strengthen the hull etc and do all the necessary repairs below the water line it feels like the end of an era !
I can't wait to see the new adventures you are going to have when it's all done !
SO SO EXCITED TO SEE THE ENGINE RUNNIG!!!
So happy to have played a small part in making it happen - Thank You
You should be proud of yourself!
Thank you for years of great content!
Sooo happy to see MV Geordie powered again. Cheers, Peter!
Word of the Day can only be, Thank you Lord for everything you have given us in this life.
Peter, Thank you for taking the time to film and edit your wonderful adventure! Congrats on hitting this milestone!! Cheers
You are Welcome Sir. It has been such a journey since you decided to do the Go Fund Me, to watching that beautiful motor turn over for the "1st" time. Thank you Peter, for taking us along on this journey, You know that we are all waiting impatiently, for the first cruise to Desolation.
Great to see the motor sorted and all is falling in place. A pleasure to be part of your journey.
What a thrill to hear this engine for the first time. It works perfectly, as well as being very beautiful. Everything is getting absolutely perfect, as it should be, right? You are extremely capricious and professional in what you do. I follow many boat channels, the vast majority of sailboats, but this channel is the nicest one on UA-cam for me. Go ahead, my friend. Greetings from this old Brazilian sea wolf.
What a great day for you and your dreams. You are giving us fantastic entertainment as we who don’t boat now live vicariously thru your great rebuild of a lovely old Wooden vessel. Thank you, thank you!
That was beautiful. What a wonderful thing this ALL is. Thank YOU, friend.
It should be us saying thank you to you for bringing so many different emotions to us through your channel the highs and lows and the personal perspective which is uniquely yours
Another awesome video. I am so happy for your build and was extremely pleased to see you get that engine running. As someone that has been restoring a 71 Datsun 1200 and recently completed extensive engine end electrical work, I can say it is a truly momentous occasion to hear the motor run for the first time. I wish you the best and look forward to seeing more. If you ever get the opportunity to try a beer called "Cocoa Cow" from sunriver brewing in Oregon, it might blow your mind. It's a chocolate stout that is remarkably flavorful. I might need to send you one. All there is left to say is thank you for sharing your build.
Thank you Peter for having the patience to explain almost every step to those of us who may not have the same level of comprehension of mechanical and electrical matters! And congrats on a running boat!
Hey Peter- Thank You for letting us share this important milestone and congratulations on achieving ‘smokeless prop wash’.👍 Your concern about suspending the weight of the oil pressure alarm transducer is well founded, I would recommend a custom bracket to fix it to the engine at a suitable point and use a hose to go between the engine pressure tapping and transducer. Lovely job on the wiring harness and instrument panel wiring - but if I may - maybe consider doing a shout out to your subscribers and ask if any 3d printer owners would be willing to produce a cover (of your design) to shroud the metal pieces of the helm, which appear (in the video), to be in close proximity to lots of wires.😀👍⛵️
Thank you for continuing to bring us this fabulous content !!!
What a week it’s been !
Congrats!!!!!
Patience is virtue one has achieved, great job Peter.
So wrapped up in your series, I actually got choked up when that diesel started. Absolutely great episode! Congratulations and thank you!
Congratulations on a major milestone! The Betamarine purrs like a kitten.
Great another video!
It is we who should thank you Peter. You have tackled restoring a classic to make it safe for living, and cruising. Your channel is educating, entertaining and inspiring . If you had not started this project, we could not have found it. So, we thank you and look forward to your progress and ultimate adventures with MV Geordie. All the best, Hal
Congratulations Peter! I had no doubt it would start. I also love that even your quick, temporary wire organization is better than most people’s finished product.
I was on the edge of my chair watching as the motor started!
Congratulations Peter! I am so happy for you. Now, I am so excited to see MV Geordie move. Maybe a short cruise next week?
Thank you Peter, for the extra bonus episodes. Hearing that new motor was music to the ears.
Hello Peter - thank you for the joy on your travels - cheers.
This moment I've been waiting for for a while. In your own words: beautiful!! Pure joy! Now you can call her Motor Vessel Geordie 😊
(I see with surprise that someone disliked this video, I guess it was by mistake, how can anyone dislike this episode?!! 😳)
holy crap! there bud, another bonus, your on a run, aren't you?
btw I'm loving it with you as well.
You have every reason to be excited Peter, every reason.
She's pretty quiet, that's awesome.
Kudos to you, Peter!!
Word of the day is thankyou, and rightly so what a blessing...congrats peters. congrats.
M.V. Geordie is now a running Motor Vessel Geordie.
Wahooo! Propwash ! Cheers! Congratz! And Thank YOU!
Let me guess... Steering, nav lights and horn got bumped up on your to do list :)
I know if it was me I would be itching to do a 2 minute run around the harbour.
P.S. Just in case, I already have a t shirt... pick someone else. :)
Love it, love it, love it..thank you Peter, for allowing us to be part of this inspiring and informative adventure. Cheers and best wishes for your improving back health.
Hey Peter, congrats!!! What a great moment!!! I'm so excited for you!!! All the best and looking forward to see your next video!!!
Thank you Peter. For taking on this momentous project that has taken a giant leap forward in allowing you to follow your dream, and also to the loving memory of your pup, Geordie. Looking forward to more exciting work in the upcoming weeks and months. Well done. Bravo Zulu.
I am so very happy for you Peter. I was almost expecting you to cast off lines for a short run. I truly enjoy watching you get your home back together. I have all the T shirts I need so I will only say thanks for sharing.
Congratulations on your start. Just watched the exhaust install, and that was great.
Excellent work Peter and a pivotal moment for MV Geordie!
That was a red letter day!! Went back to watch every episode from the beginning.
Congratulations and well done! I would like to send a thank you to everyone who helped Peter reach this point ... the engine is beautiful and more importantly sounds fantastic 🤩. Cannot wait to see where Peter goes from here.
No Peter, thank you! Love your episodes.
Absolutely thrilled for you, the first engine start is a major milestone and one to celebrate. The "pretty amazing cruising" just got a little nearer!!
Just found your channel. Super stoked to go through your back catalogue.🤙🏼
As I raise a snifter of wild turkey...to that glorious rumble from your engine bay...I wish you the best of journeys ..as the future of MV Geordie is truly on its way. Thank you Peter for sharing your story with us all. And cheers to everyone that has helped your dreams come to fruition. Congratulations looking forward to the good times to come.
Awesome job. Congratulations. It has been a huge amount of work to get to this point.
Fantastic to see the engine running. So glad the Gofundme worked so well for you! This is a reliable solution to the engine problem. If there is one thing that definitely has to work on a motoryacht its the motor, after all.
So happy that it is all coming together. You must be over the moon. Thank you so much for sharing this adventure.
