Im at day 3 with 24 extractions. The bottom are so loose and cause so much pain I cant wear them. The tops aren't that bad but boy have I been questioning myself. If im still like this I wont be able to work Monday. Watching these videos to fight off depression dang.

I got 26 teeth extracted 1/29/23 so a few weeks over a year. No sedation, worst part of extraction was needles. Ice your mouth soon as you get home and listen to the instructions your dentist gave you.Drink plenty of water while on meds,my extraction and temps went pain free.I have had my perms about 6 months, I use Polident up top and Fixodent for lowers.I got mine pulled due to periodontal disease.I used to wake up to sore teeth due to gums inflamed. No more pains since dentures,I can freely eat steak, fruits, peanuts, crunchy tacos, chips, etc and all the hard foods without issues anymore.
Good video, you were one of the people I watched before going into E-Day.I plan on getting upper and lower snap-ons this year and next. Not cheap😂😂I also had bone graft in front lower jaw at time of extractions.

Thank you for this comment. I’m a week post E-day. I had several broken and missing teeth up top. So having to eat around them then the pain from infection in my gums etc was a nightmare. I still have all my bottom teeth. I have been so discouraged over the past week over not being able to eat. I’m a gym rat so I’m used to a certain type of diet and it’s killing me. 😅 Looking forward to being able to eat normal again. Good to know it gets better with time.

You ARE Right! You helped a lot of people including me which I do Appreciate, so I say Thank you to you for sharing your journey thru this. Its Great when going thru something like getting dentures and don't know where to get information or just what another person is going thru and getting actual experience by another who went thru the same thing! This is a priceless gift. 😁 I started on your channel just when I was going to get my extractions and was scared to death and didn't know what to expect, your story gave me great incite and encouraged me to move forward. Now I have had my dentures for a year this March and I eat normally, finally talk normally and I have great looking smile. God Bless you and your Family!

Thank you Justin, wanted to tell you that you’ve helped me tremendously in my denture journey. My dentist, although he’s very good and I haven’t had too many problems with my dentures. He did not tell me what to expect along the way. Watching your videos let me know that my denture journey was going well. It’s been five months. I’ve got my hard reline. Everything is great. I don’t even have to use any adhesive and I’m learning to eat with my dentures and I’m sure I’ll have to develop a new taste for food. But probably would not have done as well without you. I just got dentures 3 weeks ago. The immediate dentures they made were way too big and i had to have them remade.
They ended up putting the normal top and bottom plates that you would get when you get permanent dentures and it made a world of difference. I can speak normal and dont gag every time i put my top plate in.
I was really worried that I wasn't going to be able to wear dentures but once you get the permanent dentures it's going to be okay.
That might not be an option right now with you but it does get better.

Well done you. My brother lost teeth in an accident 7 years ago and went with dentures. Unfortunately for him, he just couldn't get used to them and with the reduced 25% of normal bite force, he had some digestive problems. He ended up traveling here to Turkey 5 years ago and got implants, which cost about 25% of the cost in Europe. He hasn't looked back, has his full bite force and his digestion problems disappeared. Of course he was lucky that he had an Irish brother living in Istanbul (me) who could make sure he got the best service. On the other side my grandmother has dentures for 35 years and she can eat everything ! Some people just take to it like a duck to water but some can't handle it. Well done on telling your story and it will definitely help those who simply don't have the finances for expensive implants and permanent teeth. I admire your honesty and telling people the good and the bad.

Your videos got me through this scary 2 month process. From selecting the kind of dentures I want, to eday, to now (one month out) it's been a crazy ride.
Had I not watched every video I could find on what to expect as far as eday and healing, I would've been going to the ER multiple times a day 😂.
But luckily, I knew the first week would be the most challenging. I got so very lucky with having a lab tech that knew her stuff. She made my teeth exactly the way I pictured them looking and the fit (for immediates) is amazing.
It was just dealing with the acceptance that my life is toally different now. I don't miss my natural teeth one bit. I am just an impatient person and a couple times found myself trying to rush the healing process because I just want to eat normally!
Including the time my natural teeth were at their worst, I havent been able to confidently bite into a cheeseburger in probaly 5 years. I just want to get to that point where I can....quickly. I know it's going to take time.
Wow sorry for rambling. This was supposed to be just a quick thanks for your channel (my ADD is outta control 😂) Anyways. Thanks. You are really helping so many people and may I say your smile is gorgeous? ❤

Great video. Everyone can use the reassurance that we can do it. My question may seem odd but if I don't ask it I will never know. How do you learn to chew food? Is it different with dentures? I am over 2 years out and finally got my lowers to hold enough to start eating but I feel like there is something I am missing? Did you watch yourself eat in a mirror, chew up and down or side to side, and my whole jaw feels just tired after eating. I have been able to do about 10 meals but it seems so slow and frustrating! I want to just take them out and eat but what I see in the mirror tells me to get those dentures back in and keep trying. Thank you for all the videos. Having my teeth removed saved my life, they were about to make me septic. If I hadn't found a job I wouldn't be here, because extractions are expensive.

THANK YOU, for your honesty and transparency with this subject. I will have my whole top arch extracted soon. I just had my impressions made with teeth in. I am genetically prone for bone loss in my family, especially for our mouths, i am 41...I have been dealing with the pain, infections, and poor bite due to my medical conditions. Your words give me the needed encouragement to go ahead and get it done, instead of sinking money in fillings, root canals, etc. and still loose teeth. So, what I am interested in is how to get my actual medical insurance to cover dental reconstruction like bone grafts, snap ons, etc. Some offices have amazing medical coding techs that can submit the paperwork to get this done. ..Has anyone had success with this yet?? That you are aware of?

I just had most of my teeth extracted except for 6 teeth on the bottom front so i will get a partial on the bottom and a full plate on top. I could not afford immediate dentures but the dental surgeon told me to wait 6 weeks to get my impressions. Would my gums be healed enough in this amount of time?

At 6 weeks you shouldn’t be in anymore pain so it should be decent. But as far as gums healed enough. You will have a lot of healing but not anywhere close to be done. The denture you do have made should be great fitting and you’ll have better success with it than getting immediates. Even thought the ones you get at 6 weeks aren’t immediates, you will still need another set of hard reline once gums are fully healed.

Is the soft reline (?) worth the expense? I just can’t get these comfortable. By the end of the day I really am glad to get them out, 😔.

I must be doing something wrong. Seven years for me and I still can't eat with the. bottom dentures, Top ones no problems from day one without any adhesive. I can keep the bottom ones in and talk ok without adhesive, but even with adhesive after a couple of bites they turn over in my mouth and whatever I'm eating gets under them. I've had another set made by a different dentist and they are just the same.

I love my new smile but my top denture does not stay in at all without adhesive. I only have a few sore spots but no sores so feel blessed there. My dentures in front on top and bottom touch , is that abnormal and can the denture office fix it ? I've watched alot of your videos and I thank you for the information and the tips !

Can you tell me the difference between immediate dentures and permanent ones? Do they feel different? Look different? I read that some people keep their immediates as permanents.

Getting them all out on the top tomorrow.. im getting sedated thank God. I cant wait to smile again. I know a little pain is worth the gain.
My other point about dating life.
If they like you until you mention dentures, you are better off without the person who would judge.
Also, ask yourself, would you date a girl with dentures? I would even if i had all my teeth. Just saying

i had 18 teeth pulled, all fully covered by insurance . I did not get sedated. It was fine.

Hello my dear, how was your journey with dentures? Is it very comfortable or tiring? Do you practice your daily life normally? Do you eat normally and do everything you like?

How have dentures affected your dating life? There are people who would not date people with dentures.

I’m luckily already married so it wasn’t an issue. But I imagine trying to date and when to bring it up. And how they will react. Some are acceptable to them and others aren’t.

@@JustinBsDentureJourney Thanks for the info! What was the name of the pill you were given before having your teeth extracted? Was that the only medicine given, or did they inject any anesthetic? Ideally I would like to have the procedure done without any injectables. Pill and gas only.

Halcion is the name of the medicine you take the night before the procedure and 1 hour prior to appointment. I have had panic attacks at dentist before. Halcion worked, no anxiety even, 9 teeth extracted in 5 minutes.

I’m new to dentures. I now realize biting into food is not the same as with natural teeth. The brunt force of biting into foods is felt at top of gums part of dentures at nose area. Don’t like that at all.
