@@endaraa Stands for Tool Assisted, someone programs a robot/program to play in what is theoretically considered frame perfect movements, basically, it is the theoretical best someone could ever do in the game, based on the program’s path finding skills and it’s understanding of the software.
Josh i cant wait to watch you pull off all of these strats in a live run. Edit: After watching, Treeless treehops is great and the movement in Crater was fricking insane. I cant wait to see people even try that rocket setup. In retrospect just everything was truly insane and i want to see someone try and replicate it. the zoomer hop at the end of LT might not be too bad?
I casually played this game years ago (and loved it) but I have no idea what the F is going on here. That said I loved the video and the reactions of Josh and the other top guys.
So, I don't speedrun nor do I watch a lot. I'm mostly interested in how games work and speed runners often do a good job at *showing* that. Can someone explain what, "early light eco" is? Why is it amazing? Is it a thing? Is it triggered by skill, is it rng? Does it make a significant difference in time? I'm confused, but curious and I couldn't find anything on the internet about it.
Early light eco is basically just reaching the light eco right as it spawns from the large bubble of light eco in the center of the stage, it’s not a thing done in normal speedruns, only the TAS. It is complete skill however, and only saves a couple seconds at most, but it’s really really difficult and not a thing that humans will ever do in a run! Hope this helps!
Nothing out of the ordinary happened except the eco was grabbed as soon as it spawned, instead of waiting for it to land which is what a human would do.
I’m not familiar with TAS, is it just scripted controller inputs? Like, the tricks that were done in this run, could they actually be executed by a real player?
Yeah the inputs on each frame are effectively pre-determined, in an attempt to create a near perfect run. Some of the stuff in here can be done by a human and may be in the future, some can be but probably wont, and some definitely wont ever be done.
15:28 I love how they dodged the fire with the ledge grab.
it's not a "they" it's a "it" that's a bot.
Wasn't expecting to see you here.
“They” had to program the bot tho
HITTING THE YAKOW IS OPTIMAL
This was so freaking entertaining! So glad you guys recorded the reaction!
Easily one of the coolest things I’ve seen in awhile
Gaming. It was sooo fricking good!
Gaming.

I beat this run in 1995 lmao
Bruh this game released in 2006
@@Dante_Sparda_DMC 2001?????

I just witnessed pure witchcraft. Most insane run I've ever seen.
*WTF was that movement in Crater???*
GGs though
I've been waiting for a jak 1 tas. This is great
Race you to sub 14:34
I'm pretty new to the Jak speed runing world, but I think I can speak for everone when I say, THAT WAS FREAKING INSANE!!!
Samos: "YOU AIN'T NO HEROES!!!"
Jak: "Hold my Yakow milk."
Watching this live, my jaw was hanging open the entire time. It was wack.
all of our jaws are hanging open
Just absolutely insane
I was getting a buffer every other second, so i basically missed the whole thing

the zoomer hop in lava tube might be the only thing that'll be replicated RTA, and even then, it only saves a few seconds lol
He was in the last boss faster than i have beaten the Fish guy
shoutout snuggles!!
Damn!
That fire canyon shit was crazy bro
i laughed so hard when the TAS went SPeeDy
When are these strats gonna be adopted into an RTA run XD
Muted btw
what has science done
That is by far the most disgusting run ever
why tho
Out of this world
That was unbelievable. Holy shit
Has anyone tried TAS fishermans bridge glitch to citadel?
White eco at the end was cold
I was think what if you could merge an animation to create a forwards thrust
that was hilariaus hahah
Tree hops we do cliff hops out here 😂
100% TAS when?
Wow... Just wow
Josh only realising he's muted after 7 minutes is so relatable it hurts
It possible you could speed up or slow down depending on angle and all other details
so sick

Now I know why Josh wasn't talkin very much... the man was competing with the TAS🤣🤣
I could do this with my eyes closed
the funny part is that you literally could all you have to do is load the tas savestate
yes

Yoo first TAS??
Wow.
Damn it I miss it
What triggered the early white eco?
Nothing out of the ordinary happened except the eco was grabbed as soon as it spawned, instead of waiting for it to land which is what a human would do.
Poor Jim, not even in a TAS will he be spared from getting smacked by Jak on his way to fire canyon
wooooooooooow
Sup hypetrain
He took Samos " Get out of here " A bit too literally...
Josh copying this in a real run be like 😎😎
I wonder how much of this is doable by a human, I feel like the tutorial is the most doable with a lot of practice
面白すぎる
So this was done by an AI?
No, it was done frame by frame with save states by snugggles
What is this heresy
"hits the cow for GL" *is a tas* 🤣🤣
They didn't even play the game, they just used glitches to cheat!
In all seriousness, absolute mad lad, insane tas

I think this might be tool assisted
Of course it is: That’s what TAS stands for: Tool Assisted Speedrun.
