RIP Andy Rourke --great musician.
Word.
The drums are also incredible on this bootleg.
My favourite performance from The Smiths, all members are at their best here. Meat is Murder era was definitely something else, I wish I was alive to witness this live irl, I bet it would’ve been so much more ground breaking and incredible seeing this show for real! The love I have for the smiths is eternal
The right band at the right time.
People say that these guys are like the Second "Beatles".... after listening to tons of live and studio recordings, I think they are Right. I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan and nobody else has made as much difference and changed the Sound so Damn much.. Amazing Foursome!!!
And you can hear the tribute to The Beatles in a small fragment of Jeane at 1:11:36
wow, I was wrong, it was at 1:13:36
Attended this show..... absolutely brilliant!! Great times!! Phenomenal band!!
I was at this one and still have my ticket stub. Sat way up in the upper balcony. Great to be able to hear it again.
I caught this Tour in 1985 at the Hollywood Palladium and that show was an absolute stunner. It was also the most insane crowd I'd seen at this particular venue. I mean, I'd see The Cure, XTC, Simple Minds, Bauhaus, TSOL, "X", and to many more to mention.... The Smiths were a great band in everyway and not to many people can say that they caught the band live, especially here in the USA. This is a great recording of them in their absolute best. LOVE IT!!!
This is one of the best Smiths gigs I have ever heard, and I've listened to well over a hundred at this stage! Amazing setlist with some surprising inclusions/sequences, some of Morrissey's best-ever live vocals, Johnny's guitar rings clear and true like a bell, the rhythm section are bang on form and the audience sound well and truly there for the taking. Thanks so much for sharing, this is wonderful x
Happy you liked. This was the only time I saw The Smiths live but what an amazing performance it was.
'at this stage' - Beacon Theatre? Surely not.
@@hazelwray4184 Ha 😊 At this point

Glad I saw this one....they were so good in the days before Morrissey turned into a dick. I'm reading the Marr bio right now!

Amazing.
So cool that you posted- but I think the title is incorrect, they played at The Beacon on June 17 and 18. I was at one of the shows, still remember the balcony shaking!
Wow, thanks for catching my typo! I recorded this on June 18. Will fix!

Video of this gig would be amazing for fans.
🎼 It took the clean cut, aNd, a sort of scruffy lookin' devil, straight outta the Pitts of (drum 🥁🙈🥁🙉🥁🙊🥁 roll, please~~~) Salem, to really really open My eyes...
I've seen this happen in other people's life. Yah, how they have gotten successful aNd are NOW totally happy aNd good at what they do aNd they love themselves and they are living a completely happy life 😊 ☺️ ❤️ 💕 💗 💖 😊, aNd NOW, it's happening in Mine...
What type of audio did you use to record this GREAT! sounding Smiths Show-Any memory that stands out to you the band sounds like they were on fire-Moz singing with gusto and music wise band plays real tight. Thanks for posting shows a Stand Out for us Smiths fans.
I used a Walkman with a small external mic plugged into the input.
Reviewed the show in my fanzine at thx time: facebook.com/share/WSRD8ysArs95oq1K/?mibextid=WC7FNe
