I actually like the series more than the novel, because there isn't any sexual stuff. In the series you can still feel the love. Love isn't only about sex. The series doesn't show their attraction for each other bodies or gender, but in the personality. They love each other no matter what and it isn't about sex. It's so beautiful and I always start crying while thinking about that. I love them!!!!:3
The Untamed was supposed to be a summer memory, it's December, it's fucking cold and I am still crying over the best men and the best love story ever. P.S it's April and still crying over wangxian being husbands.

@@sagetucker5558 idk if my answer will be accurate but this is what I personally know from what I've gathered , 1- they go to cloud recesses in the first half bc cloud recesses has invited young disciples from all these clans to educate them or give them classes on right techniques of cultivation and upright behaviour just like later wen clan does later on but for devious hostage reasons as well , 2- Wei ying probably doesn't wear the same colours bc he is after all adopted and is also a rebel at heart lol maybe also bc of madam Jiang he wants to maintain a boundary by not wearing the same clothes, but it can be noticed that after burning of lotus pier he wears the purple Jiang belt to commemorate the clan's death, 3- It's a fictional thing ofcourse, using inner chi or power and cultivating it within to maximize your golden core through vigorous training , if you have watched anime like Hunter X Hunter it's similar to nen power , and in contrast to spiritual chi there is demonic cultivation, using resentful/negative energy of the dead and directing that energy according to your will

Considering what Wei Wuxian had gone through, it was so sad for me to see those scenes. Many people appreciated him but the people who truly loved him were really few, and he lost most of them. Lan zhan was the only one who stayed. He was indeed a true soulmate. And yes, he was enough
So true. He lost so many people, it's insane if you think about it: first, his blood parents, then his adoptive parents, then his found family (the Wens), and then his brother-in-law and his sister, not to mention all the people who he thought he lost as a result of those deaths. Plus the whole cultivation world was against him. It would break even the strongest person, and WWX is one of the most resilient people out there. One more reason to love this boy/man even more, he deserves all the love.

All this pain and suffering finally came to the surface and still just a handful of people cared (the Wens, Yanli, Lan Zhan). Even now it makes me tear up just thinking about it...
They didn't kiss ONCE in the whole damn show (yes I know why) but you could feel the love and admiration they have for each other and it absolutely beautiful! I love The Untamed so much and I miss it!

The micro expressions of Wang Yibo are so on point. Every one mentions XZ acting but WY had no lines but still had to convery all emotions.. Kudos for pulling that off at such a young age..
I love the fact that when Wei Ying was at his most powerful and people envied him Lan Zhan was the only one worried and against it and then when Wei Ying was at his weakest and the whole world against him, Lnn Zhan was the only one there to support and cherish him

This is an actual masterpiece. This is the first time I've watched a Chinese drama, and this is honestly so much better than most Western movies. And yet people say that shitty movies like "After" show true love. This drama (and novel) conveys so much more than numerous well-known books, more people should know about it. I hope that someday I find a book that will live up to this standard.

i like the writers were literally playing with fire. they made the couple stand at the line and walk it like a tightrope, smudging it but not so obviously that the censorship know they've crossed the line. in the end one doesn't need namjoons iq to understand that even after all these indirect clues.

God I cried a lot, he literally gave up his golden core so that his brother could have it, and nobody knew about it. And that’s why he couldn’t defend himself or even put up a fight! I cried so much! @@officialsummyc It's open-ended in the sense that you don't get to SEE them, like, get married and bang each other day and night (like in the novel), but if you think about a little I think most viewers would agree it was a happy ending and we can assume that they did get together. Six months ago this was the first edit I saw about them and also my favorite. I didn't believe in "The Untamed Syndrome" I heard so much about, but now I can't turn this page. Actually I don't want to get over it, because it wasn't just a series, but an experience that taught me that love is in the smallest details. It doesn't matter how much I re-watch, it will always be like the first time.
i’m honestly still in awe after finishing this a few days ago bc .. i haven’t seen such a well written love story on film maybe.. ever? especially one embedded in such an incredible epic. their chemistry; wang yibo’s micro expressions and the intensity of his acting no matter how subtle; the way they communicate their growing love for each other, the pain in lz’s face and voice when wwx drops off the cliff - the moments of humour; the hope and joy in lan zhan’s face when wwx returns; the fierceness with which lz protects wwx; the smiles and laughter and freedom you see running wild in wwx when he’s with lz - the agony of him losing his mind and the love of his life, too; all of it is just woven in a way that i think you can only fully appreciate once you’ve digested and stepped away from it, and i’m so grateful i found it
The movie did not have extra "purpose romantic scenes" but we still can feel the romantic and the love by the look at each other between Lan Zhan and Wei Ying. We feel the love, the care and painful of Lan Zhan for waiting 16 years by just the way he stood next to Wei Ying.

Every time I watch these videos and it brings me back to The untamed I have to admire Wang Yibo as Lan Zhan.❤ Not that others wouldn't be also good, but Yibo is in this drama absolutely devine, and it is also because of the costume. He is like big diamond among amethysts (Zhan is of course at least emerald😁). He managed to portray the uniquenes of Lan Zhan's character and his purity and perfection, which are almost on the level of otherworldliness. This was easily absolute masterpiece. 🙏🙏🙏

This is just an adaptation, I haven't really watched it yet, but the anime is officially a danmei, a bl love story. i'm guessing it's because of censorship that they dont officially make the adaptation bl. but it is a love story, and i think the anime does it much better justice. go watch it the name is "Mo Dao Zu Shi". it's really funny how there's not a single kiss or sex scene of any sort in it and yet it delivers one of the most powerful bl drama's of all time. This story made me cry and i RARELY get that kind of feeling when im watching bl.
Without a single romantic scene,The Untamed still managed to show ppl that they have attraction for each other,this shows how well and awesome the storytelling was, it also teached me alot,i feel like WY and LZ reached the “higher level” of “love” , just looking in each other’s eyes and already understand, i saw this true and funny quote “Who the heck is crazy enough to wait for a stranger for years without knowing anything about their lives?” Yes ,only people who love or are relatives in family can do that, they are “Soul-Mate” . This is why The Untamed is unforgettable and memorable after YEARS, the unique story and awesome actors ,this also marked the beginning of a successful career for almost every actors appeared in the movie ESPECIALLY Yibo and Xiao Zhan ! 👍👍

Have watched and rewatched the series like so so many times. The chemistry is amazing! Tops any romantic movie. The subtle hints and the love is in the air attitude,my goodness! Man, I would love for them to get together in real. Wishful thinking,I know! But damn! The creators are one courageous bunch. ever since i finished watching the untamed it haven't left my mind for a second, especially wangxian. i can not move on, no matter how much i try to, this has never happened to me before after watching a drama. sometimes i wish i could erase my memory and experience it all over again, all those feelings i felt while watching it. now that i finished it i feel kind of empty. this drama is definitely going to stay with me for the rest of my life, and i will definitely rewatch it again and again and again, because i will never get tired of it. this drama has ruined my life, but in a good way :')

It's amusing how they stirred away from the original genre of the story because of cencorship but never fail to make their audience feel the depth of LZ and WY's relationship. I felt so much more butterflies in my stomach watching this drama than watching actual romcom/romantic dramas. Like no romantic scenes and skinships are needed to actually demonstrate their bond is comparable or probably even stronger than that of a married couple. Theirs encompasses the true definition of love regardless of how you label their relationship. MXTX really has a knack for telling beautiful stories.

Considering what Wei Wuxian had gone through, it was so sad for me to see those scenes. Many people appreciated him but the people who truly loved him were really few, and he lost most of them. Lan zhan was the only one who stayed. He was indeed a true soulmate. And yes, he was enough

He lost so many people, it's insane if you think about it: first, his blood parents, then his adoptive parents, then his found family (the Wens), and then his brother-in-law and his sister, not to mention all the people who he thought he lost as a result of those deaths. Plus the whole cultivation world was against him. It would break even the strongest person, and WWX is one of the most resilient people out there. One more reason to love this boy/man even more, he deserves all the love.

They didn't kiss ONCE in the whole damn show (yes I know why) but you could feel the love and admiration they have for each other and it absolutely beautiful! I love The Untamed so much and I miss it!

This is an actual masterpiece. This is the first time I've watched a Chinese drama, and this is honestly so much better than most Western movies. And yet people say that shitty movies like "After" show true love. This drama (and novel) conveys so much more than numerous well-known books, more people should know about it. i’m honestly still in awe after finishing this a few days ago bc .. i haven’t seen such a well written love story on film maybe.. ever? especially one embedded in such an incredible epic. their chemistry; wang yibo’s micro expressions and the intensity of his acting no matter how subtle; the way they communicate their growing love for each other, the pain in lz’s face and voice when wwx drops off the cliff - the moments of humour; the hope and joy in lan zhan’s face when wwx returns; the fierceness with which lz protects wwx; the smiles and laughter and freedom you see running wild in wwx when he’s with lz - the agony of him losing his mind and the love of his life, too; all of it is just woven in a way that i think you can only fully appreciate once you’ve digested and stepped away from it, and i’m so grateful i found it
The movie did not have extra "purpose romantic scenes" but we still can feel the romantic and the love by the look at each other between Lan Zhan and Wei Ying. We feel the love, the care and painful of Lan Zhan for waiting 16 years by just the way he stood next to Wei Ying.

Every time I watch these videos and it brings me back to The untamed I have to admire Wang Yibo as Lan Zhan.❤ Not that others wouldn't be also good, but Yibo is in this drama absolutely devine, and it is also because of the costume. He is like big diamond among amethysts (Zhan is of course at least emerald😁). He managed to portray the uniquenes of Lan Zhan's character and his purity and perfection, which are almost on the level of otherworldliness. This was easily absolute masterpiece. 🙏🙏🙏

This is just an adaptation, I haven't really watched it yet, but the anime is officially a danmei, a bl love story. i'm guessing it's because of censorship that they dont officially make the adaptation bl. but it is a love story, and i think the anime does it much better justice. go watch it the name is "Mo Dao Zu Shi". it's really funny how there's not a single kiss or sex scene of any sort in it and yet it delivers one of the most powerful bl drama's of all time. @@aabriahchapman8546 umm i wouldn't say it was sad but it wasn't the happiest ending for me. it was kind of bittersweet. but please do watch it, i promise you it's so worth it!! you will regret not watching it earlier.
Two years later I am still here. This is probably the only FMV that can bring back the emotions I felt when I first watched The Untamed.
It's amusing how they stirred away from the original genre of the story because of cencorship but never fail to make their audience feel the depth of LZ and WY's relationship. I felt so much more butterflies in my stomach watching this drama than watching actual romcom/romantic dramas. Like no romantic scenes and skinships are needed to actually demonstrate their bond is comparable or probably even stronger than that of a married couple. Theirs encompasses the true definition of love regardless of how you label their relationship. MXTX really has a knack for telling beautiful stories.
Yes, exactly! You told it really well. It doesn't matter if the adaptation is censored or not. Their love is beautiful as it is.
