  • My trip to Iceland was in September 2023, where we had several nights with temperatures close to zero and almost no moon. Found out that my favourite setting for the camera I am using is to set my timelapse to a 4 second exposure time, snapping a new photo every 4 seconds. Lenswise, of course I would have like to be able to afford the Sigma 14mm f1.4 DN Art Lens, or even a budget-friendlier Samyang 14mm f2.8 (since fx3 12 800 ISO compensates well enough for the loss in f-stop). Had to use my all-around Sony 24-105mm FE F4. If you ever had the chance to capture northern lights timelapses, any kind of exprience sharing, tips, gear tricks, etc is welcomed in the comments. I am always in awe in front of beautiful astrophotographies from peers and reckon there is always more to learn in order to perfect one's craft. Good night and Good Lights !!!
