Steel Frame Second Floor Structure Installation Tutorial (EP5)

The 5th episode of Quacent Light Steel Lecture introduced the installation process of the floor sheathing, second-floor walls, and panel roof system for light steel houses. Two construction sequences were discussed, and the second sequence was adopted in this lecture. The first step was to install the floor sheathing with 18mm thick OSB boards, ensuring a gap of 3mm between each board. After determining the size of each board, they were cut to fit and pre-nailed in place. Joints were staggered to avoid open seams, and nails were added at the junctions of the edge board and floor grating with 150mm spacing, and at the inner part of the board and floor grating with 300mm spacing. Once the floor covering was complete, the installation of the second-floor wall could begin, and verticality and flatness were checked before installation. Finally, the walls were installed according to the layout.
