Prague, Czech Republic, 94-probably the biggest visit of listeners on their tour. Around 150.000 people-open scene. No one was left without emotions ! Many did not go home to sleep... Life experience. Forever.
This is Earls Court London 1994 I saw this in Berlin. Only to try to put in words: As the mirrorbal where illuminated, it was suchts an oustanding effect, blow my mind away, . We where standing there with open mouth because the reflectionts of the bal where like lasers rotating around you and it seemed as if the music was getting a little louder. So mutch impressions.
The thing that makes Gilmour's solos special is that they sing. Full of melody and emotion. There are a lot of skilled guitarists in the world, but few can match the feeling of his solos.
First of all, you never, never, ever interrupt a David Gilmour solo. That is blasphemous. Also there is a version of this performance that has over another minute of his solo.
Unfortunately we have to pause throughout the videos due to copyright strike 🤷♂️..... extended version of the solo ? I gotta check it out ... i appreciate it 👍
@@allreactions3281 The best thing to search for on youtube to find it is "Comfortably Numb Pulse Uncut" and you should hopefully find one uploaded by either HDPinkFloyd or Alessio Boffo. There are many uploads of the uncut version but those are probably the 2 best ones - many of the other ones have a sudden change in audio quality when it comes to the extra minute of guitar solo or the video quality is awful.
Thank you for pointing that out! I find it a crying shame that : 1- somebody would actually edit out any of that guitar at all! 2- over 16M views for the cut version, only 206k for the uncut. I am trying to change that! And DEFINITELY never interrupt Mr. Gilmour whilst he plays guitar.
This concert was performed and recorded in England , at The Earls Court auditorium. And that was not the finale’ of that concert , by the way. They performed a few more songs after that which then culminated in the Grand Finale’ . I think it was great , myself . 😃👍🏽
I forgot to mention it , but , this entire performance was recorded over on VHS and on Digital Disc , I believe. So if you folks out there are interested , look it up and you might be pleasantly surprised. 😃👍🏽
This is absolutely the best guitar solo ever! Might not be the fastest playing with the fingers, but it's the best sounding. And how can you stop the solo like that?
Outstanding performance!! I agree fast guitar solos don't need to be fast or very technical 👍Unfortunately we have to pause throughout the videos due to copyright strike 🤷♂️
@@allreactions3281 actually, you dont. Talking over it will do the same thing as pausing. If you going to pause, do it at some low point, not during the solo, especially this one.
The lyrics were inspired by Waters's experience of being injected with tranquillisers for stomach cramps before a Pink Floyd show in Philadelphia on the 1977 In the Flesh Tour.[5] "That was the longest two hours of my life," Waters said, "trying to do a show when you can hardly lift your arm."[6] The song had the working title "The Doctor".[7]
It may not have been very clever of you to interrupt again and again, especially during the solo, but if I'm not mistaken, there is certainly the possibility on UA-cam to enjoy this piece without "reactions" and interruptions 😉 and to this day i get goose bumps all over my body when I hear this piece, especially during the guitar solo !? In a "Live Review" by Pink Floyd, this tremendous light performance must be included, because light and sound are composed in such a way that they belong together ! I saw this concert in 1994 in Cologne's soccer stadium, together with 75,000 fans. With my 58 years now I have been to dozens of partly very big concert events but what I was able to experience in Cologne has beaten everything. At that time a good friend of mine lived about 500m as the crow flies and could see the arena directly from his balcony. He later told me that as the block of additions with: "Wish you where here", "Comfortably Numb" and specifically "Run like hell" : ua-cam.com/video/iro-IzZVsSw/v-deo.html - went out, the whole the stadium looked from the outside like the landing of the starship at the end from Spielberg's "Close Encounters of the Third Kind " . Until then, Genesis were the absolute specialists for composed light shows for me. After 2 hours of watching with my jaw down, it was clear to me - there is probably no more or better. And of course the overall experience of light and sound is inextricably linked. In the preannouncement of the concert it was promised that, regardless of where one´s position in the stadium is, listen to at least stereo if not even quatro. They implemented this advertising promise in a comprehensive and impressive way and I will never forget this bombastic sound experience together with this indescribable light show.
Royal Albert Hall England. The greatest ever by anyone’s. Someone said Gilmour doesn’t plug his guitar into an amp he plugs it into his sole. Every note is like a chapter in a novel you can’t put down. That’s not even the full version. There’s a rare version out that is about 2 minutes longer.
Watch this again when you have some time to yourself, my friend. You will not regret it. If you can listen with some headphones and no distractions, even better. The first time I watched this Pulse version I missed so much and it didn''t blow me away. The second time I had tears rolling down my cheeks and my body was trembling. Only piece of music I've ever heard that has done that.

This is from a DVD of one of the Floyd's live shows filmed at Earl's Court, London, in October 1994. Earl's Court was closed and tore down in 2014. This was part of their Division Bell Tour which followed the release of their album The Division Bell. The following year they compiled various songs from the tour and released the live album in 1995 they called P.U.L.S.E. The CD came with a flashing (pulsing, I guess) red LED at the top of the spine. It was annoying; I covered it over with electricians tape. The DVD which was video of The Division Bell Tour was also named P.U.L.S.E. and it was released like 10 years later.
That sucks Earl’s Court shutdown.... this was an amazing performance I could only imagine how phenomenal the rest of this concert was... especially experiencing it in person 🔥 thanks for sharing your thoughts 👍 also thanks for showing love to my channel

Saw this in 1994, in Lisbon. This is the show that took place in Earl's Court, London. Although all the tour was played in football stadiums, this one was in a closed quarter, a huge room in London - Earl's Court (4 nights in a row, closing the tour, I saw the first one, odd enough...). The show is incredible, the stage was massive, energy and staff requirements beat all the records until today. But the greatest PF show ever continues to be The Wall, it was so massive that they only played it four times. Nothing to do with this in terms of lighting, but still even bigger. Roger Waters toured The Wall some years ago, and the show is quite impressive.
I saw this concert at Yankee Stadium back in '94..... I was comfortably numb for about 3 hours straight. They are the best drug I ever had. This is arguably the BEST solo ever recorded. Now I saw ARGUABLY... but the only argument... and many have debated on this..... is that the Pompeii '16 version might be even better. I myself can't decide.... I think it might be. I suggest you react to the Pompeii '16 version too :) Oh... and there is some 3-4 minutes missing, they removed it cause Gilmour thought it wasn't worthy of the DVD.
If you liked this, I would imagine you'll probably really like the live performance of Sorrow by Pink Floyd, also at Pulse 1994 :) It also has one hell of a great guitar solo in it. Plus the lazer work used during that performance is phenomenal :)
Can't believe you stop in a David Gilmore solo. Disco ball came after 1981. Music critics in the 70's ( disco time ) said you can't dance to their music. Hence the disco ball comes on so you can dance to it, but you are now "comfortably numb". Check out 1981 "P.F. favorite dance songs" album cover.

Unpopular opinion here. Pink Floyd has been my favorite band since I first heard animals in 1977 at the age of ten, but... I have never liked his live version of the second solo in Numb. Even this version. The improvised parts lack the amazing little melodies that are a key part to his solo phrasing.
First Rule...NEVER, EVER interrupt a Gilmour Guitar solo... EVER. Second, despite what other moron reactionists do, interrupting the flow of Any song destroys the flow of the performance and ruins the effect the band is trying to create. Save what you have to say till the song is over. What you have to say is FAR less important than the performance. Especially when it comes to Pink Floyd or a David Gilmour peeformance
