this actually sounds like it came straight out of the 80's.
It's snthpop. Almost all pop songs in the 80s were synth based. Synth died out in the early 90s. Hence when we hear a synth base in the 2010s we think 80s. I hope it returns as a mainstream style. I'm 24 but think the 80s has the best beats

Ok. it's my view on song and video: it's about people mistake about real feeling, we often mix passion with love, and think that something can be better than love. Main character is searching for love but every new meeting gives him only merely interest not more. Their dancing doesn't suit to the rithm of metronome (symbol of his heartbeating), and real deep feeling leaves in the memory (red ribbon) so maybe he was fallen in love, but now he again goes away with nothing
