    In the philippines we call the red one, cockroach mango since it has that weird after taste (nobody wants to eat it unless you have no choice), Apple Mango, the green one is best eaten unripe to almost ripe(very crunchy texture) since it will have a wine-ish/fermented taste when its ripe-overripe,Carabao Mango, yellow one is very sour when its green, it can cut your tongue with its sourness(like a pineapple does) so its best to eat it when its ripe

    Have you tried Taiwanese mangoes yet? Their two main varieties are the Aiwen (Irwin) and Jinhuang (Golden Queen). They have two new varieties recently developed but are significantly rarer and in shorter season; Summer Snow and Honey Snow. In Australia, they have 3 new varieties yet to be properly named; NMBP-1201, -1243 and -4069 which are hybrids of the Kensington Pride, Irwin and Van Dyke.

    well, this is weird. I have 2 mango tree that similar to Lemon Zest and Peach Cobbler, but somehow the taste is the opposite. The yellow one is sour, like really sour, while the round one really sweet with no sourness at all, it's sweet even before it ripe...
    I believe the yellow mango tree that i own is Lemon Zest, but my grandfather grow it from seed (which he said a sweet yellow mango), it possible it's cross pollinated with other variety resulting in different taste

    • @gioandres205
      @gioandres205 4 роки тому +7

      Yup! Most probably it got cross-pollinated by a sour variety with stronger genes, that's why most fruit farms use either proven seed, tissue samples, or grafting.

    My friend is from St. Thomas in the AVI and he said they have mangoes down there right now (it’s mango season) that are so tender and juicy, that you can’t even cut them up like you did. He said that you bite off the skin in a small spot on top and you suck and squeeze it out like a juice box. He said it’s like mango smoothie if you refrigerate the mango first.

My memory is that Fruit Punch tasted like coconut (with mango) and a little bit of other fruits, Peach Cobbler tasted like peach (with mango), and Lemon Zest tasted like lemon drop candy (with mango). I’m wondering if the labels might have been switched on your samples of Peach Cobbler and Lemon Zest.

We had many fruit trees including psedium, star apple, ice cream beans, genips, guava, Jamison, calabash, soursop, sapodilla and coconut. Very hot scotch bonnet was added and it was challenging to eat . I don't know why I did it . 🤦 I won't now .

Private mailing companies have been lobbying to drive the post office out of business by leasing it to Amazon, demanding 50 years advance savings to fund retirements and grossly overworking staff, not protecting them during the pandemic etc. The Money party wants everyone crushed through an extraction economy under ignorance and poverty so they can do what ever they want.

    I have a dream of filling my yard with tropical fruit trees :) It will be hard, I live int the desert so I'll need to create my own tropical ecosystem. So far I have a pineapple top growing (1 year now, about) and a new banana plant that will be in the ground in about a month or two. I plan to have drip line and misters up to create a humid area in my yard, and a lot of tropical fruit trees and plants don't get too tall compared to a house but still provide some nice shade. I'm really hopeful that it works out and I can have my own tiny jungle in my yard. Mangos are on the top of my list, papayas too, I'd love a papaya tree.

    • @blackbway
      @blackbway 4 роки тому +4

      Papaya is an easy one. You can grow tons of papaya trees very quickly from seeds. Just buy one papaya from the market that you really like. Scrape the seeds into a container. Get a flower pot with some nice soil and scoop out a little ditch in the middle. Just bundle all the seeds in, guts and all and cover it up. Add a little water. They will take about 3 weeks to hatch, so be patient. However, as soon as they start to grow, maybe 2 to 4 inches, you will need to plant them out. Papaya plants grow very fast and in about 2 years you can be eating your own papaya.

      yellowPanther the only similarity is the jelly like appearance. The smell and flavor is different, they are distinct. I’ve eaten rambutan since little and lychee for over a decade now tho not much but lychee has this very fragrant aroma vs rambutan. It has a more distinct flavor than rambutan too. If you gave me a rambutan flavored juice or candy i would not have known its that but lychee would be easily identifiable. Idk if thats just me but i’ve eaten mango, pineapple, etc too but i’d be able to identify them when they’re made into a flavoring.

    I tried a mango from a tree growing near where I live and it’s unlike any mango I’ve ever had. It has puddling like texture, no strings and tastes sweet but not overly sweet. It’s smells very good like floral, punch and mango. The seed is sorta roundish and not flat like the usual mangos I’ve eaten. I’ve been binge watched your mango videos but I still haven’t figured out what it is.

      round seed? hmm... might be something else. where do you live?
      It could be this: ua-cam.com/video/V0f5T6Q8Vxw/v-deo.html

      Weird Explorer it’s definitely a mango I’m just unsure of what variety. I also forgot to mention that its green and has red speckles. The seed isn’t totally round but more pudgy and fat. They are also pretty small mangos.. I live in USVI St.croix. Btw, I once came across this cool passionfruit lookalike/cousin. I searched for hours trying to find out what it was. I found out it was a Jamaican Lilikoi or water lemon by watching your videos. So thanks for that.

    You should try mangoes from Bangladesh. Some varieties are so tasty and rich in flavour that you wouldn't stop until you eat 4/5 of them at once.

    You are INCORRECT!! Fairchild Botanical Gardens DO NOT have the largest collection of mangos. Gary Zill from Zill High Performance plants in Lake Worth, FL has the largest collection of mangos. He is an expert in the field. Also, Tropical Acres Farms in West Palm Beach has over 330 varieties of mangoes and ranks at the top as well.
