Benson succeeded in his goal, by the end of the movie Randy became a well rounded G and tied up every loose end

There is something very raw, down to earth, simple, and straight forward that this film has, which a lot of films these days lack.
This film actually had characters... it actually had acting. It wasn't just a bunch of familiar faces reading dialog. It was people going through shit.

Just finished watching this movie and I overall really liked it. I went into it not thinking it would have any depth to it, but it surprised me. Benson is a very interesting character. I don't think their connection was romantic, it was more like they both had trauma, but both went about it differently. Benson handled it with violence and Randy handled it by being compliant with everything and everyone around him. While what Benson did was not okay, he came across as someone who was lost and looking for purpose. I think he found comfort in thinking his purpose was to "fix" Randy.. He saw Randy eatimg that rotten burger and he felt the need to help him, probably because it reminded him of the time he was molested and felt helpless and taken advantage of. in a way he kind of did help Randy. In the end, Randy didn't stay quiet and just let Benson keep doing what he wanted. He didn't stay compliant. He made a decision. He said making his own decisions leads to other people getting hurt. One part in the movie that was touching to me was when Benson shot Randy by mistake at the end and immediately went to put pressure on the wound and he kept apologizing. This shows that Benson did have emotions. He did like Randy. He really didn't want to hurt Randy. It's sad that Benson's ending was how it was, but in his mind it was probably for the best. It was either that or prison.
Benson treated Randy like a brother, there was nothing romantic about them

I just finished this movie. Thanks for the edit! In the earlier scenes I was like it'd be so hot if Benson got his gun and shot that guy. Benson was in love with Randy aaaaaaaand no one can tell me any different. I'm getting Dead Poets Society vibes ( IYKYK...) but with crime & murder & no poetry. The tear wiping scene.....GAY subtext! And i love it.

I didn't realy undrestand why was he trying to help him and what was the point to kill people?
Because he is a physcho
He was molested by that teacher as a kid (it's implied) and so he has trauma from it which has caused him to be that way. I think he probably decided he never wanted to be taken advantage of like that ever again so he became violent with people and seeing Randy being taken advantage of by his co-workers triggered him and also made him feel like he needed to "fix" him. He probably saw his old self in Randy and felt obligated to help him. He definitely had a soft spot for Randy despite not showing it well with all his violence
