Spain's "Do It For Your Lover" had the most epic voice crack I've ever heard in Eurovision.

I'd have to give that winner to Isaiah 2017 Don't Come Easy.

Isn't it hilarious how the UK has the best singers and bands on this planet, but they still send the most questionable entries to Eurovision
They don't wanna host Eurovision or even just do well, so they don't really care)
@@escserg6731 as A brit i disagree, i dont think its that we dont want to win it.... i just think we have the wrong idea about what type of song "could win it" instead of just sending the best song. Its almost like we try too hard and still manage to mess it up completely. If we got a good song writer and kept the song itself simple then we would do well again. Look at Portugal and Holland in recent years.
That’s because decent acts won’t do it because they’ll be savaged by their own media.

Almost all of the songs being in this list can be explained by these conflicts:

Armenia vs. Azerbaijan & Turkey
Greece vs. Turkey
Greece vs. N.Macedonia
UK vs. itself
I see a lot of just...anti-gay sentiment too :/ Bilal and Conchita deserve better.
_UK vs. itself_
Ukraine vs Russia
Also homophobes, for Conchita Wurst and Bilal Hassani. Conchita was 100% iconic and a great singer, and while I'm not a super fan of Bilal Hassani he is a good performer and his song was not bad, so the hate is probably not against the song but against his appearance.
But as an israeli I can truly say home was just a terrible song lmao
But toy?! Really people. It's a great song with a great message
While there are some songs on this list that are indeed bad, I think calling this video "Top 50 Worst Songs" is a wrong choice of words. "Top 50 most disliked songs" would be a more accurate and more neutral name.

In recent years, many Eurovision fans have really turned into cyberbullies... mass-disliking and insulting the performers, nit-picking every single thing they do... I will never forget, in 2019 ESC fans were mad Denmark made the final (as opposed to other country's acts they preferred) so they started insulting Leonara's teeth and overall looks! that's literally bullying! You can dislike a song, but why can't you respect the artist?
And for this year, people were saying the Italian performer was doing drugs. For no reason at all. People are just...
Leonara's was one of my favourites.
Exactly, and literally every single time someone wants to attack Eurovision, they will cite Conchita Wurst, like ffs just leave them alone, it’s not affecting you negatively in any way.

I actually appreciate every Eurovision song... but inside me... I think like you :)))
-Start A Fire(Azerbaiyan 2014) is one my favorite ESC songs and I know that she didn't her best live performance butm it was better than Conchita Wurst's performance (I understand why Austria have that amount of dislike, the performance was not good, the music video was amazing)
-The Only Thing I Should Have Done is one of my favorite ESC songs and I know its style is not fashionable but it's a lovely and good song (Cyprus 2015)
-Amar Pelos Dois (Portugal 2017) isn't one of my favorites songs but I don't think it deserves 31,33% when there are many worse songs.
-My Slowianie (Poland 2014), I understand the controversy but, the song is good and catchy.
Turly agree
I strongly disagree. Most of these songs are bland or forgettable, if not really bad, like Germany 2019, Spain 2017 or United Kingdom 2015. When winners are in the list, it is because of specific controversies. Like in 2017, I could see why people don't like it because it is a very different style from what is usually presented. In 2016, the song is very political and implies a lot of things about Ukraine in USSR, while normally Eurovision doesn't allow political stuff. In 2018, well, I don't need to explain, a lot of people don't like this song for quality reasons. In 2014, there is the obvious controversy of the singer as well as a lot of transphobic people didn't appreciate it because of the singer. Other than winners, France 2019 has so many dislikes because the singer is openly homosexual and has a very drag-queen like style which lead to a lot of homophobic people to throw their hate on.
@@DuskSunDawn Strongly disagree about Conchita. Let's not be hypocritical here. We all know the amount of dislikes on her performance is due to the fact that she is different than everybody else. People are so close-minded they can't even think of a man with long hair looking ultra feminine. Because the performance was really not bad at all.
Well, the most hated performance during a ESC final should be... Madonna !
lol
True that
JAJAJJAJAJ YEAH
No, it wasn’t a good performance but what people seems to forget is that Madonna is in her 60s, of course she isn’t able to perform as a 20 year old person
@@veroxtime then maybe she shouldnt perform anymore as it was not good at all
Sad part is how a lot of participants who sing in their native language tend to do poorly which is truly a shame
My country Serbia won with Marija Serifovic Molitva, and it was sung on our native language... you should listen you wont regret it!
yeah every country should have the right to sing in their native language and its truly fucked up that when they do they usually get brought down.....my country(italy)has been into this crossfire a lot. they fucked up our 2012 entry because apparently the song had to be part english....and it truly fucked up stuff because it didnt sound the same sang half in english
I believe turkey is the biggest victim of this, their language is so different from all other European languages, that every time they do a song in their language, even if the song is not bad, it always at the bottom, when they do in English it is significantly higher, and one song even won the Eurovision, the reason for not coming back to ESC is that they feel treated unfairly in ESC, and I totally agree, the culture, language, and style of music are not for the European ear.
My country Israel was actually doing an interesting technique because Hebrew is also a very different language, up until 1983, they used Hebrew but only letters and vowels that sounded European, they never used strong throat letters so they would not lose any points, but in 1983, Ofra Haza came to ESC, and they made a song about how the Jewish people are still alive because the contest was held in Germany with strong throat letters even in the chorus, the song ended up in the 2nd place after that Ofra became a European woman singer icon, she sang mainly in Hebrew and Arabic and Europeans bought her songs, she even was for some time, I believe 1987, maybe not, somewhere in the 80s she was number 1 top chart with the song "Im Ninalu" which the remix has a stanza in English but the whole song is in Hebrew.
So I guess it is disappointing that countries lose points just because other countries don't appreciate their language, but I believe if the song is good enough, it can win and songs have won, my point is that it's a bummer but there are more important factors.
@@erikgelfat367 of course other factors need to get in place yeah, like what you re wanting to express, or how you put it into scene, the performance etc. the performer per se; but i do think that if using your own language were more encouraged again, singers would surely feel their exhibitions more. I mean just take a look at the winners from the previous century. I feel sorry for turkey , one big point of bringing ESC to life is bringin different cultures of europe together, the beauty is they sound look and work differently; i d bet my ass that ESC doing something like that would bring back to fame the idea of using and bringing to charts songs in languages that are not typical of top lists etc. we all appreciate listening to english, spanish, italian, french....we should be able to appreciate listening to a top chart swedish, dutch, german song etc. etc.
@@erikgelfat367 I think it's same with Hungary. Our language is different too. We have a lot of wordgame which are don't say nothing to an English or German or Spanish people.
I think some countries from the east (and Hungary and some Balkans country) are at disadvantage because they language if they sing in their native languages
This list need a update after hilarious 91% of dislike for Blanka - "Solo"
As a German I take the hot guess that half of the dislikes on our songs come from ourselves, cause honestly I silently cry tears of pain and laughter every year we are last. It really is a running joke that we send really bad songs to Eurovision, so whenever we watch it as a family we totally freak out when we at least get one point, so 2018 really was hard to comprehend. God I miss Eurovision, it's always so fun to make fun of ourselves while enjoying probably every song from other countries. Enough of bashing my own country, imma be off listening to Michael Schulte while being sad that yet another year is without Eurovision.
Hey there soulmate!
We need to send Stefan Raab or sth back again, at least that would be quality and funny, but nowadays it’s more like bad and funny because it’s sooo dam bad lol
@@EmiM20 couldnt agree more, his music is just funny and I always associate it with a lot of joy and spark. He wrote ,,Guildo hat euch lieb", ,,Wadde Hadde dude da" and of course ,,Satellite" and they always ranked high. I think we should get back to maybe sing german and not so mainstream songs and tunes. Although I really liked last year's song and believe that it could have ranked high, I think it was really mainstream and a little bit boring, no offence at all btw, I just did not feel it. I'm just looking forward to not hear ,,zero points for germany" next esc and of course a win when we are ready for it and found ourselves.
Und dann schicken wir generische, radiotaugliche und gleichsingende Songs zum ESC als mit Eskimo Callboy (mit internationalen Fans), womit eine tatsächliche Chance auf den Sieg bestünde. I lately had some thoughts that Germany were doing on purpose so not to win the competition as it was being held in Israel... They had a better entry in their local competitions "Unser Lied für Israel". My favorite was "Surprise" by Lilly Among Clouds...
@@BlackPixel1 Germany very obvisouly has to stand on Israel’s side in this conflict in case I need to remind you of the years 1933 to 1945. So that can hardly be the reason. I think they just don’t care at this point haha.
Well… the Germans hated it too. Because honestly they were ridiculous. But it was a huge scandal, and because of them Germany changed their selection system 👍
Not that the new selection system is any better, no, but maybe even worse. Because now a secret jury and some people who were right about the placement of the songs the last years are gonna chose it.
Why sisters were chosen? I dunno. As far as I know it was mainly decided by older people, because most of the young people don’t know anything about the selection tv show. So yeah. Kinda sucked. And still sucks

while most probably are genuine a lot of the dislikes seem to be political.
Some of these songs actually sound pretty good, i can understand why other songs get disliked, since some of them doesnt have that impactful feeling or just sounds like another corporate music, or just have bad voices/mixing.
But really, is there some kind of politics involved in this that caused people to dislike them.
Yes, the most of these dislikes are politics, hatred and etc
1944 itself was political, since it was around the time of occupation/annexation of Crimea - it was essentially protest song.
Netta was gonna be politicized just on the basis of her being Israeli.
Conchita being in drag probably brings a lot of hate... it also is most likely the main reason they won.
Salvaro Sombral - well... it's another boring uninspired ballad, there are 4+ of those every year.
But all of these are only contributing factor, I think "my song did not win" contributes the most to the dislike ratio.
Dislikes under Jamala's 2016 performance are absolutely not relevant, because they're made by russian bots factories. Everyone knows it.
And same apply for the 2017 winner from Portugal, just because the contest was held in Ukraine.
Personally, didn't like Portuguese entry and still don't like it. That's not something I would ever listen to and making it win a song contest like an eurovision was total bullshit, but k, Europe expressed its vote and so did I.

The main problem, if that song had a different singer, it wouldnt had won. The song itself is not strong to be a winner. Its a nice ballad, yes it is. But for eurofans it would sink if had another singer. Conchita was the real reason people vote it and what she represents. That was the main reason. Same applies for the deslike. Mos people who deslike the song, is for Conchita and not for her song. Having a LGTB representation in songs, nowadays its a way to win votes, sadly it becomes a country tactic. Some are more succeful than others to achieved that media spot. For Conchita, it did work in her favor.
Im not saying she did or not deserved, i have the opinion that doest matter in the end. If people vote for specific song to win, and had so many votes to win, means it deserve. I made my peace with eurofans...
