- For a company with so much experience in puzzle design, I know they can do better. I'm hoping for a TengYun v3 refresh. That would be ace.

YJ next? 🤔
Is QIYI SAFE?!!!
@@octogintillion No, YJ is great.
@@cyoubx do you like your Gan I version? is it good and worth for buying to have visual statistic what's wrong/bad/good and etc with your solves? i watched many videos and there are a lot bugs in the app, is that true right now? or it was fixed? the main issue was it doesn't registered the finishing of your solve and you should make an extra U/U' turn to end the solve.
Qiyi??
*_You gotta make a series call: "I ruin the reputation of every cubing company"_*
he really should
Albert: "The edges of the TengYun v2 are bigger than the corners and centers"
I think this might bring DianMa flashbacks, but I can feel it now, since Kavin pointed out that it's also on the v1.
But since I main the v1 for 3BLD, I don't think it's going to be too big of a problem when I get my hands on the v2 too.
I still love the brutal, objective honesty in these reviews, they really help point out things needed to know too ♥️
Try stickerless version .
Hope it's good
That middle layer thing is actually what Cube Solve Hero did intentionally in the mei gc yeet
True
But my Boy CSH went bananas on that frankencube lmao
Looks like the GAN 11 M Pro Mini does the same thing now?
Edit: I understand the edges and corners are still flush, but the corners and edges are wider than the centre caps.
I've done a thousand or so solves on my Tengyun V2, never noticed the edge thing until now...
Sorry...
It doesn't bother me to be honest
@@duarteribeiro1520 yeah, same here. It's like the GTS 3 ridges for me, I like the bigger slice layers just like how I love the ridges.
So I'm not insane
he warned ya.
What are you talking about this is a Square-1
My stickerless tengyun v2 doesn’t appear to have the edge thing but maybe I am just not noticing it
Yeah I forgot to mention in the video that it might also be a batch issue or just for the stickered version!
Yeah, just got a stickerless one and I don't notice anything either
Me neither
Does the stickerless v1 have this issue?
DatBoi06, I don’t think so because I also have the stickerless version 1.
I agree, the tensioning system is incredibly overcomplicated and unnecessary.
Mr. Icyfire yeah
Koalakubing I agree
Oh thank god, it’s not just me who was confused about the tensioning system. I just ordered mine the other day
I think they should have explained it better because I almost did not get the thing about "travel distance" until Jperm made a video about the V2 and explained it was basically settings for the screw. It's so dumb!
Wow, literally covered my exact thoughts I had on this puzzle
Get yourself the Tengyun v1, it has all the great qualities of the v2 without any of the problems.
Yeah but the bad thing is that it has weak magnets and doesn't have a dual-adjustment system. (He also already got the Tengyun V1 in another video)
The same problem is with the Tengyun V1 too
Edges pieces are bit bigger than the Corner Pieces
I really hope Dayan makes a TengYun V3, I'd buy it. I have the V1 and I absolutely love it, what's keeping me away from the V2 is that I've heard that the feel is different and the issues you've stated. The V1 is my main at the moment because of its super plushy feel, and from what I've heard, the V2 feels more like a gan cube.
How did you setup the Tengyun v1, I had ordered the cube and it's gonna get delivered today. I've heard it's fast, so how should I slow it down?
@@ds.1403 I can't exactly remember, but if I had to guess, I used a decent bit of 30k, ~3 drops of silk, 2 drops of dnm, a drop of mystic, and 2 drops of lunar from scs
@@AWSMcube Holy! That's a lot of lube!
@@AWSMcube oh wow, and did you change the springs to the longer ones?
@@penguincuber1670 Yeah, overlubed tengyun feels really nice
Nice video
Wow, interesting review! This totally changes my opinion on the puzzle
am I the only person who used to think this was cyotheking second account
No lmao
I also thought that! Lol
RNOZE 12 rlly?
Well, I think that the dual adjustment system is there so that you can get even tensions if you want like the gan X, but for people who want a more extreme tension (very loose/tight) then I think that's why the screw is there as a last resort so it can fit everyone.
Sure, but how do you get even tensions without using the screw as well? lol
Aren't all the screws evenly tensioned when you first get the puzzle? So you adjust the two blue adjustment pieces to get even tensions, but if you can't find a setting you like then you resort to the screw. Most people will find a good setting with the two blue pieces but in the unlikely chance they don't then there are technically unlimited settings so anybody can find a tension that suits them, unlike the X or XS. Sure using the screw ill make it uneven but most people wont have to use the screw so for most people they get the benefit of even tensions. That's why I like the system.
oh no, i checked the v1 and it's the same. noooo!
Maybe Dayan wants their cubes to not be legal at comps. It's a theory: a cube theory.
Yes, can confirm that on my TengYun V1, but it does not affect my awful turning style. My GuHong V3 M is better anyways.
Chill man, if you didn’t notice it up until now, then it doesn’t matter.
1:16 awesome solve
Well put, man. Well put.
I took the red pill at 2:39 and you just confirmed my nagging suspicions. That being said I still love the damn thing
GravityKnight i do too, i would love me some weaker magnets on it but well it really fit my style
I love your videos I am so glad that you are back
I still use my Zanchi to this day, glad to hear dayan didnt retired and still making cubes.
Bro, get a better cube!
Buy a RS3M 2020 or a QiYi ms, if that's too expensive for you then buy a meilong 3m
V3 might be the one
LMAO I actually cannot get over the edge size now. Did not think you meant that so literally. Good thing I like the feeling of the cube enough where I can live with this. I checked to see if it was like that on the v1 as well and it is, I guess I just got used to the v1 that I didn't notice it on the v2.
Do you have a stickered or stickerless v2?
I have a stickerless
Hi
finally a dayan tengyun v2 m in black!
Thanks tengyun isn't my main
Cool thanks
you should put the word "cube" in the title in quotations
The sizing part isn't an issue it also appears on the 354 M this might have been on purpose like the 354
mom can we get kewbix
no we already have kewbix at home
kewbix at home: cyoubx
Okay I’ve just come to a realization, the Tengyun v1 has the same problem with middle slice being slightly bigger than they are supposed to be.
I heard some do and some don’t but does the stickerless one have it?
@@datboi0669 I have both versions in stickerless and according to my (analogue) calipers, yep, the width across the outer layers is clearly ever so slightly smaller than the width when measured across the centre for both cubes. The v1 at very loose tensions and thick lube is my pick for 3bld though. As for the v2 - I can never get as good times in 333 with it (due to surprise catches) as I can with the RS3 M 2020, so the v2 remains my casual desk cube for untimed mucking around.
👍👍
İ like black version
One thing I never heard anyone talking about is how the tengyun v1 pieces only touch each other on the inner parts. If you look at the cube against the light, you will see it.
What???
That's not a new thing for DaYan though. The LunHui was like that.
That was the same issue for me with the Tengun v1. Instead of the edges being the large it was more like the corners are too loose. They rattle when I try to solve.
Great vids
I think you are wrong about that tensioning system. I like the idea that you can turn the screw.
For example i tried to find setup on my gan x and neither of tensioning settings works for me, i just wanted something between 0.6 and 0.8. In tengyun v2 you can achieve this by turning a screw little bit.
Personally i think normal screws instead of this shit tensioning systems are much better, but i think these systems can be useful for quick setup and some people will prefer it over normal screws.
I think you should have tried stickerless version
The slightly bigger edges might actually help a little with double M-slices?
will you post a tengyun v2 unboxing? i've been searching for an unboxing/review of a stickered black but all of them are using the stickerless variant.
should i get the tengyun or the v2?
Does the cube squeak for anyone else? No clue how to fix it
Anyway, as a cuber, I have enough 3x3s!
Cube for Fun BLASPHEMY! THERES NO SUCH THING AS ENOUGH CUBES
@@elrockerchido That's not my parents' opinion AT ALL! I have already 6 3x3, and my parents think it's a waste of money. In fact, they're right ; why would you buy another 3x3 if you alredy love your main? The new one might be a little bit better. But does it really matter if you're not a professional slover?
For me, its sandy af. like it has this like when you turn it slow it stops and suddenly turns a bit then stops again when you use not alot of force. otherwise it feels super cheap and feels like its gonna break every time i corner cut. The spring noises are louder than thomas the train and its absolute shit. I even thought i got a fake because of how bad it was, but i can confirm its real because it can cute like the odd 35 or 33 degrees
and lube just comes out of the cube. i did like what, 2 drops?
I can see the dayan tensioning system is hard to learn
I disagree, i used this cube as i use my guitar with a floyd rose. Presets at first, then screw for fine tuning, for me it was really simple from the get go. The gan 354 also is offset but in the other way, but nah i dont mind, i just hope they make small cubes, maybe making 55 mm a new standard, 56 is meh, 54 is great too, but 55 would be nice for me. Just to clarify i do get your point and actually like your video. No salt here bud. I dig your criticism to ALL companies
The Dayan Tengyun SpeedNotACube
1. I'm with you on the pointlessly complex tensioning system
2. I don't care about the piece size thing
3. My tengyun v2 seems more slow and sticky than the v1, i hear it could be because it's the first batch and later ones are better
4. I'm pretty sure you used footage of the same solve twice
Also I still use the tengyun v1 as my main cube
Cyoubx’s keyboard has failed him in like every video recently
It is not the keyboard but the keyboardist who has failed lol.
Does the stickerless version has this problem tho?
Is there a reason why they made the edges ever so slightly bigger? Like, did the mechanism require this? And, was this also the same with the V1, or was this introduced only in the V2?
I don't think it was intentional. I think the way they designed the pieces was just very complex and hard to manufacture, so there was some slight issue with the tolerances. Honestly, I don't think they even noticed it.
Whelp time to find a new main I never noticed the edge thing and I r right I cannot unsee it (:
Heyyy gettin sub 10 confidently, niceeee
I noticed the edge thing just from photos
1000000th of a mm difference.
I don't think anyone is noticing that.
Do you got a lot of pop on this cube ??
Not at all. It's very stable :)
Is there a way to make the puzzle smooth? Every time I lube it the feeling gets very sticky and sandy. Even with minimal lubes and different kinds it keeps coming out wrong. Any recommendations or is the cube always going to have a sandy and papery feel.
To be fair as soon as i took it out of the box i put 1500 solves on it completely dry ( i cleaned the pieces) then i lube it with some nebula on centerpieces and iner tracks and martian on pieces. Its really smooth and quiet
I desagree 100%
Just wondering, I was an old school cuber who liked the older Dayan cubes like the guhong v2 and the zhanchi. What cubes would your recommend now?
Depends on your budget. The YJ MGC Elite, QiYi Valk Elite, and Gan X v1 (not the v2) all feel very familiar. The TengYun v1 and v2 are also great (despite what I say in this video, I still love both cubes).
The RS3 M 2020 is on pre-order on the cubicle and it might interest you as it has some great features like a double-adjustment tensioning system and only costs 10 dollars and comes premagnetized, which is amazing.
It's already like that in Tengyun V1, I guess that's a feature not a bug :p
Maybe but why wouldn't they mention anything about it if they did it intentionally?
I'm not sure why it should bother people about the edges
What camera do you use? This quality is too insane
Wow, now that it has been revealed will it still be comp legal? Amazing discovery
Darryl I don’t see why it wouldn’t be comp legal
@@asmallkitten Ok then, btw can't believe you replied to me :p
i struggle to comprehend the benefit of the edges protruding, what does it benefit, really?
Maybe that's why M slices are better on this cube? I dunno
Was the sentence in the beginning a joke I didn't get?
Also on stickered versions: what the fuck is that red shade??
I'm "dayan" to learn about how to tension this cube. I don't even have it lol :/
My grievances about the V2:
- weak magnets settings are too strong. It is a shame that their setting range is not wide enough and doesn’t start at very weak. I know most people like stronger magnets but I prefer the magnet settings of the V1 (lighter than the weakest setting of the V2)
- a bit heavy in the hands (than the V1, or XS that is use)
- a bit noisier than the V1 (still quieter than most cubes)
So I am a bit disappointed because I am a big fan of the V1
cali camus man how i love the magnets on the v1, and not only their strength but their position, more on the inside, the v2 is my main and well oddly enough im on setting 2
Me who just ordered the Tengyun v2...
Which do you prefer ? Gan 356 M or Dayan Tengyun V2 M ?
Ooooooo tough question. If you want more stability, the TengYun v2. If you want more speed, the 356 M. I use both about equally depending on how warmed up I feel.
I sub 20 so which cube do you think is fit for me =)))))
Cyubx gets back into youtube...roasts and ruins almost every 2020 3x3 release. Honestly agree with almost all of what he’s saying too, I say 3x3s from 2016 are just as good maybe better than current 3x3s
who won the monster go
Haven't picked a winner yet. I'll do it at the end of the week
@@cyoubx ok thanks for responding how do u announce the winner is it by vid ,community post or what?
This video is why I got the zhanchi pro instead Lmao
1:18 that was the tengyun v2's fault
Что я здесь делаю??
Привет! Славяне встретились)
Is it just me or did cyoubix come back all negative about all of the new cubes
Well I think he likes them but he can't stand the imperfections because he knows how to repare them as he was a cube designer and he modded los of cubes in the past and also recently (like the gan xs mod)
Nah. He's just negative about most of the gan cubes.
I was really let down by this cube. I can’t find a good setup and the setup is too freaking complicated. I feel like I’m performing brain surgery whenever I tension it. The wrm adjustment system is the best
Damian Wilding my advice s that you start from tension 1.5 and elasticity 0.6, and work your way down, this way took me just 1 hour to find my set up. However i changed the springs, if you do so, the screw has to be “flushed” with with the center piece. Anyways, hope you can find a set up soon. V2 its my main and boy do i like it... except maybe i would like weaker magnets at setting 3
@@elrockerchido how does the other set of springs feel?
