Only 7 minutes in but I love the cradle. Although my days of manually editing disc and song titles are over. As a kid I couldn't afford a NetMD player so had to edit using my stereo but with the wonders of NetMD in 2024, it's a thing of the past for me now.
I have the same dock, but it had a mini-USB port to allow NetMD. I see the dock you have doesn't have a mini-USB port. I have two original speaker sets for the dock. Let me know if you want a set and I can send it to you. I upgraded my dock with a USB C port and pull the DC in voltage (4.5V) from the USB C connector. The upgraded dock works great offering NetMD and battery charging using a single USB C cable.
Very clever. Excellent work. I bet it's great to have this working as a good portable system with a portable powerbank. Thanks for the offer of the speakers but I'll decline, the player isn't working properly and I'm unlikely to fix it. The video that goes live next week will explain more, but thank you so much for the offer.
That's a very interesting idea! Unfortunately, the player/recorder has a fault that I can't fix and doesn't always read discs (and has trouble writing them). So it's not a long term use device.
@@HermanVI might do that, take it apart (video or photo) to see if a mini USB socket can be added, but the player/record has issues that I'm unable to fix so it's not a project I want to spend a lot of time on. @jasonj4337

Yep, the present finally catches up with the past. Are you using SonicStage (or similar), or a web-based editor such as Web Minidisc Pro?

I wonder how many parts would be needed to upgrade the dock to support USB. It's very likely to be the same board.

Perhaps good to take a picture of the circuit board in the dock and share so we can compare if it's easy to add the USB port.

Do you have any videos on personal cd repair?
No, sorry.
Would not an Airplane adapter have worked?
No jewelry? Disappointed.
