The Melbourne Victory away kit has actually been extremely successful and has genuinely flown off the shelves, also you surely are in the minority disliking pinstripes, they all look like good clean kits
You have to factor in that everybody absoloutely hated the hi-vis, so people would be more opted for something better in their eyes.

FYI the Adelaide one is a throwback to the original team kit in 2003.. when shirts were even more dodge.. so it is almost deliberately tacky (I like it though because memories). Check out kits of theirs from previous years to see what I mean (PS yellow, red and blue are the state colours. These days kits are mostly all red though)
Auckland FC just released their kit for next year. Lots of people saying it's "Inter Auckland" vibes

Also PPS Glory were formed in the 90s when there was an American trend going on (see South Melbourne Lakers) and Victory is a play on the state name 'Victoria'. The kit with the chevron is a nod to the Aussie Rules state team who wore the 'big V' in state vs state games.
Funnily enough the pink victory did sell out very quickly, no longer able to purchase these!!

Melbourne Victory used to have some class Adidas kits with less disgusting sponsors. But they will always feel like a discount Girondins de Bordeaux.
Agree with your assessment that they all look American, probably because all of these clubs were board room inventions, and the old, traditional clubs were tossed aside to lower tier football.

I agree with some other comments, I wanna see NWSL 2024 and USL championship kits (INCLUDING San Diego Loyal, even though their best kits were 2022)

Just for further context with Melbourne Victory, essentially it stems from the fact that Melbourne is in the state of Victoria, so we just went "what's a word that sounds like Victoria?" and then locked in Victory...

Everything you said about Western Sydney might make more sense in context; the club was an expansion team and everything from the name of the club to badge design and colours was decided upon by community involvement. Western Sydney is arguably the homeland of Australian football and boasts a wide range of communities from football mad countries in Europe, South America and beyond. That is why their kit is the most authentic looking and not like some American franchise. They're also well supported, hence Adidas making their kits.

Also the reason why Melbourne Victory are called “Victory” is because Melbourne is the capital city of Victoria. Hence the V on the shirt. It just works. Btw our away shirt is amazing - you’ve gotta take a proper look at it, not just a rendering haha
I'm from Adelaide and our homekit has always just been McDonalds colors... our away kits are clean though

Agree with Melb City home shirt being poor. It's always overshadowed by our Away/3rd kits which are more favoured (Prior to CFG takeover, We were known as Melbourne Heart rocking red and white stripes as the home kit, a red sash on white shirt for the away kits and commonly charcoal as a 3rd kit. To their credit have kept our real colours on the away/3rd kits ever since + you'll still see the old Heart merch being worn to this day, including myself) Always 🔴⚪

Australian kits do not have an extra sponsor, they just have the league logo on the front of the shirt and the manufacturer logo moved to the collar. They do the same in other Australian leagues such as the AFL (aussie football), NRL (rugby league) and BBL (cricket)
Pretty we have an extra sponsor on the sleeve and on the back of the kit compared to most leagues and also on the shorts. So a major sponsor the kit manufacturer, a sponsor on the back, the Ute sponsor on one sleeve and another minor sponsorship on the other as well as a shorts sponsor.
