- beadaholique.com - There are so many different types of glue that we use in jewelry and it can be a bit confusing as to which one you should choose for a specific project. This video goes over 4 common glues: E6000, Nunn Design Glue, Crafter's Pick, and GS Hypo-Cement and talks about each one and what makes it special. Various application examples are also given.

Is it strange knowing that an artist just has you talking about gluee in a song?
Sure, strange a good way. It was really fun figuring out why this video was suddenly so much more popular.

I think it's worth mentioning that E6000 has some flexibility to it, which can be a great asset too.

Hi! Some people are more sensitive to the fumes then others, so it is a little hard for me to say exactly what will or will not have a strong odor to you personally. For instance, I know some glues that I think are fine my husband finds really strong. Most people do not really notice an odor with Crafters Pick Glue or Nunn Design Glue. E6000 does have a strong odor and it is best to work in a well ventilated area.

Brittany Headbang It depends on how thick your metal rings are. If they are quite thick and there is enough metal touching metal, then I think they will hold. However, it also depends on the weight of the chain and the rings, if it is incredibly heavy, then it might not hold.

GS HypoCement would be a good choice for rhinestones and it should not affect their shine. If you are worried about their shine, just make sure to only apply the glue to the backside of the rhinestone and not get any on the front.

The GS HypoCement should work well for a phone case. Just a word of caution, phones get knocked around quite a bit so whatever you stick on a phone case, will most likely come off over time. You will want to have some extras of whatever you are adhering. If it's a big solid object, I would suggest E6000 glue.
I use the E6000 for everything.I kept a leather belt for two yrs longer with E6000 and I recently used it to glue the plastic back of my kitchen grill back on after my new cat knocked it onto the floor and broke it.This stuff is the best.I find I prefer to use my hands to apply it most of the time and it just peels off after it dries.

E6000 is definitely the "Duct Tape" of the crafting world, I use it for almost everything from little rhinestones to chunky car parts that I glue on for larger steampunk projects. I have had the same experience with E6000 (as well as other glues) as AnaRosa -the actual rhinestone will fall off simply leaving the foil attached to the project with the glue. The only way around this I've found is to make sure a touch of the E6000 is slightly on the side edges of the rhinestone. It dries clear and if "barely" on the gem, you can't tell.
One of the best videos I’ve seen on adhesives

STANDING IN THE SHADOWS MOVING LIKE A LAZERR
Why is everyone saying " standing in the shadows moving like a laser!!
They are reffering to the song "upgrade enabled" by Bladee, in which he says samples this video before he says "standing in the shadows moving like a laser."
GS Hypocement would be good for rhinestones. E6000 is one of those glues which is affected by temperature and how old your bottle is. For a new bottle in a mild temperature environment, I find that I have about 5 minutes, especially if it is a pretty big glob that I am using. If I am just using a tiny bit, it does dry quite a bit quicker. Also, I find it dries quicker during the summer heat.
Great! I need the E6000. I’m making slide satin cord bracelets and one of the people in the videos was even using this. 😊
Hi! I am a little unclear on what you are asking. I think you want to glue some beads together to make a cross. If this is the case, I would suggest using E6000 glue.
I am a believer in making sure my jewelry pieces don't fall apart once sold or given away. Super glue is my go to for that!
What kind of super glue? I really hate when my stone fall off it feels like my item is poorly made
@singerandrummer4life - I would suggest E6000 glue.

There is an odor, almost like a marker fume, but you use it for such a short period of time and in such small amounts, that I personally do not find it overwhelming.

Fave glue. Clears up after 24hrs.
Hi, E6000 would be a good choice, it is very sturdy and durable.
I would say that the GS HypoCement has the strongest fumes of all 4 glues in the video. I hope this helps.
What says ye about the GS Hypo Fabric Cement? Haven't used it as much, but have had far fewer applications
THANK YOU FOR INSPIRING BLADEE TO MAKE ONE OF THE BEST SONGS OF ALL TIME. I SERIOUSLY DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT E6000 GLUE BUT IM SO HAPPY YOU DO! THANK YOU!

I tried GS hypo cement for stretch bracelets to hide the knot inside a stone bead. I was really disappointed because it didn't last as long as the Loctite Power Glue (Repair Extreme) which I'm using now, which is great.
Good video. I always struggle with which glue to use with which project.
You and me both!))

THANK YOU! I am very new to jewelry repair. This is a great video!
Thanks for watching!
You would want to use the GS HypoCement to secure the knot.
Thank you thank you thank you. So helpful. You saved my day.
Which glue would you recommend if I want to glue a crystal point into a bullet casing? In essence natural quartz crystal bonded to metal.
Hi! I do know there is a glue out there such as what you are describing but we unfortunately do not carry it and I am not sure of the name. I would suggest doing a google search for PVC glue or glue for polymer clay. Good Luck!--

Very nicely done. Succinct. Answered my question. Thank you!
I would use E6000 for this application.
This video is most helpful. It would be useful to state what type of main ingredient is in the glue so that in the UK or other countries we can look for an equivalent. Such as PVA in the UK is the same as Elmer's. I love watching your videos and you have a good calm voice, thank you from Scotland
Hi, this was very helpful. I would like to know if you have a suggestion on what type of gloves to wear when using E6000 and also what sort of gloves to wear when mixing resin. Thanks :)
I just use inexpensive disposable gloves that I buy on Amazon. There are a lot of different companies, some are latex and some are latex free. You are basically just trying to not get resin on your hands.

So would the E 6000 be best for metal work? I'm glueing chains to metal rings. Will it hold and not look sloppy?
I just used the GS Hypo to glue a bail onto a cabochon. The tip gives great control, but it's somewhat difficult to get the cap pin back into the tip. I have to use a magnifier light for that.
Yes, I agree. That cap can be a challenge
Sure, The Crafters Pick glue is good for wood, varnished surfaces, ceramics, etc.
Thanks! It is confusing to know which to use. This was a good primer.
I have B6000 and I used on suede cord and nylon cord and beads and it is great ;) it is the best glue for my hand made jewerely I have ever used ;)
Hi, you mentioned cabachons in talking about E6000 glue. I wonder if it can be used with semi-precious gemstones, or are there some it shouldn't be used with, like perhaps Opals or Selenite? Thanks in advance, P, in Liverpool, UK.

THANKS SO MUCH!!! Alcohol has been useful to me in a pinch to remove some glues. My hand sanitizer
worked for my E-7000
Even though it appears "dry" after several minutes, you will still want to let it sit overnight to fully set in.
Thank you ❤

Which glue would you use after making a knot in elastic cording? I make a ton of bracelets and I want to make sure the knot does not come undone.
Probably GS HYPO Cement
Are these safe to go onto your skin after they dry?
If E6000 is giving you trouble we have three different glues that are rhinestone friendly in the adhesives category of our website, GS Hypo Cement Glue Precise Applicator Essential, Gem-Tac Permanent Glue Cement Adhesive, and Gem-Tac Permanent Glue Cement Adhesive. Click on the link for Adhesives in the video description underneath this video. We've yet to experience any clouding with our glues and are not sure how to solve clouding for you if we don't know how it was caused.
this gluee is amazing
Thanks for the information, it was very helpful!
Hi! I actually have not heard of the other variations of E6000, I am sorry. Since we do not carry these other ones, I am afraid I can not speak to what the differences are or how they work.
Hello, i make phone cases and when i use e6000 glue it breaks up the foil on the back of the rhinestones. Which glue do you suggest so that it doesnt break of the foil???
thank you!
Do you think clear gorilla glue is okay for earrings?
It might be, the most of important question is what the earrings are made out of. We use E6000 for a lot of our projects because it's good at sticking metal to metal, and metal to glass, and fabric to glass. If you've got clear gorilla glue already you can test it with the sorts of materials you want to make earrings out of. If it still holds well after a few days of drying and you like the look of it then it'll probably do well for you. Since the things people make earrings out of usually don't weigh a lot you won't have to worry as much about the glue holding heavy weights over time.
this gluee is amazing, i've actually even repaired my car with it?
Amazing what a glue can do!
What is the best glue that I can use to put jewels on a nylon rope or a nylon dog leash
yes
But yes, it's a great glue!! Dries fairly quickly for me too.
Thank you for the helpful info, I have more clarity now
Thank you for your video. Do you think the E6000 would be good to put glass seed beads on a sunglasses?
Thank you again.
When I bought the E6000 and got home an opened it up, I read the back with all the cancer warnings, lol. The first time I used it I was SO careful not to get it on anything lol.
which glue is ideal for bonding rhinestones on a bra? although in this video I talk about it I do not speak English very well and I can not understand what is the right glue to buy, so that adheres to the fabric and rhinestones.
I would recommend GS Hypo Fabric Cement. Here is a link: www.beadaholique.com/p-10551-g-s-hypo-fabric-cement-glue-precise-rhinestones.aspx?UA-cam&
Hi.what would you recommend to glue a Pearl on metal earring . I have a couple earrings with missed pearls .Thank you 😊
