Best investment I've made in disc golf. Within minutes of owning it and looking at feedback I was able to make small changes to my grip and get consistent -2 nose angle. I love this thing. It's definitely improved my distance and consistency, accuracy is a different story though.
Yeah, I definitely think that the main reason I haven't bought one yet is that the flight simulator isn't very accurate when throwing. (at least from the videos I've seen)
I played with their simulator, and I have found throwing for distance it is most preferred to have nose angle + launch angle = 6-7° most of the time. With arm speeds of 50-60 mph -3 - -4° nose angle with about 10° launch angle tend to do best, but as you go faster ( pro range 70-80 ish mph) you want launch angle more like 12-14° with about -6 - -7° nose down.
We get 16 ft of snow where I live and the winter tires are on my car for 7 months of the year. I have one on order to make throwing in the garage for that many months more productive. Thanks for the video!
I feel like a setup with a net, a camera, and a monitor that swaps between replay of form and analytics display from this tool would be an awesome coaching/improvement tool
WOW! That worked! I was hyper focusing on my index finger knuckle. I changed to just the back of the hand and what a difference. I thru more nose down and hit more lines more accurately. Thanks for all the mores 😂
I don't recall hearing anything about launch angle until TechDisc. Don't think I have ever saw a video on how to throw nose down with a positive launch angle. I'm not the sharpest edge disc in the bag though.
Consistently throwing with a negative launch angle and throwing nose up? Yep that's exactly what the tech disc told me on my first day using it Mr UA-cam man. 😂 Have had the techdisc for about a week. 3 net sessions so far and I'm already making progress on getting the launch angle and nose angle in better shape.
I have an order in to get mine in November, just in time for the MN winter I have to endure! It will be a great off season tool for me to learn, stay motivated, & throwing in the off season.
I don't know that I want more videos focusing on techdisc but perhaps something showing ways to try it out to change your form then once you feel comfortable seeing it in a field and how close that is to the simulation. Also don't get me wrong I'm buying a techdisc I just don't think it lends itself to riveting content for me.
I really like the idea and the tech behind it. Look forward to seeing how it updates and integrates into a tremendous teaching tool. Knowledge is power and this will give us a lot more understanding of how these dang round things are flying and how we can improve. I don't think this will be something for everyone to buy, but I love the idea of your local store or teaching pro having one. Definitely a game changer! Thanks Robbie!
Really cool concept and great video. Don't know if this is something I would use much but it's really cool to see. New to disc golf so been trying to see some of the practice tools and drills that are out there.
Ahh just got mine in and I thought in the 900s were good for spin lol. I throw 52-55 mph but I guess I don’t have spin and that probably explains why I only throw 270-310 lol. How do I increase the spin rate?
2 part question. I don't see the affiliate link. Planning on ordering one soon. 2nd one is can you tell by the numbers if your rounding? Or would that be the hyzer angle that is telling with it being on a anny angle?
trying to figure out what disc to get because i dont want to buy 2 disc.... distances or fairway. If i get fairway can i use that for a 250 shot but cant work on distances or ???
for us living in the "North" :D ít would be amazing if it could be used as a "disc golf simulator". Our season is pretty much finished in my area, and will only start up around april/may time again... to be able to stay in doors, throw into a net and play rounds... that would be incredible... if not rounds, then a "driving range" would be cool (or maybe even in Discgolf Valley huh !!!! :D )
If they had a comparison chart to see where you stack up and could even have the simulator plug in your real data to simulate your distance and what not. That would be a game changer. I know that info could be used for the wrong reasons. But comparing myself to other players (especially ones I know) for the sake of learning who does what right, and improving. I’d buy so fast
In frustration of trying to get my nose down and after watching videos of golf monitorsI had this idea over a year ago. Unfortunately I have little knowledge in electronics and less in programming :/ but my idea would be for one that can be attached to any disc. Although that may cause more complications. Seriously the chips needed for this are crazy cheap!
Is it just me or is anyone els having an issue finding the Tech Disc Affiliate Link? If I am just missing it please let me know. Thank you for another great video
Great. Let's see the actual nose angle of a long flat throw.. In (my) theory, the nose down angle cannot be greater than the effective lift generated by the disc shape otherwise it will just travel into the ground. My guess is there will be very little actual nose down attitude of most disc's as a lot of "Lift" is actually the "S" travelling sideways from Hyzer effectively turning (right for a right hand back hander like myself) which when on Hyzer, is turning up into the air... so throwing a Hyzer down at the ground will head at the ground. on a Hyzer angle, but turn right while on that angle (which moves it on an angle, away from the ground as it turns right... flattening out at a level attitude... and rolling off as it slows down to the left... Now if I could only get it to do that instead of hitting that damn tree... (I could hit a tree if I was in the middle of the Sahara).
Hey Robbie, im from alabama aswell (andalusia). I love disc golf and do field work everyday, but it’s hard for me being there are zero courses within an hour, I’d love some help figuring something out!
I actually did this and it was surprisingly accurate. It obviously doesn't factor in wind or elevation. The simulated distance VS measured distance was within 15'.
@@D3w4ynedang that’s really close, the biggest thing that sticks out to me would be the added weight from the hardware and the reduction of air flow under the disk from the hardware enclosure (the black piece). was the predicted distance consistently longer than the actual throw or did it fluctuate?
@@urmom-_ The added hardware results in a less stable disc, but Tech Disc does factor that in. A Discraft Force is 12,5,0,2 however my Tech Disc (Force mold + hardware) is 12,5,-1,2.5. Distance simulated vs distance measured was pretty consistent, but simulation can't factor in wind, which wasn't bad but there was a slight breeze, so it varied. It was close enough for me that I trust the results when throwing into a net.
Technically I think I would have called it data disc, because the first letter is the same, it makes a similar sound when you pronounce the product. Let’s make a 100 dollar version

Especially in the wet and dark season here in the PNW. I just wish these would come down on price. Pretty spendy.
A golf simulator for disc golf with real courses etc would be awesome
Oh, boy! As a techy and still a rather big noob at disc golf, this is right up my alley! I love it!

Mine is shipping in October! Actually, I thought it was going to be more expensive.

I love this idea, I just hate I can't afford it.
ordered one a couple weeks ago and used your code. Now just waiting for it to arrive, probably end up throwing it in the garage all winter.

That shirt is sweet. Smoltzie would be proud!
I just used your link to buy one! Cheers!!

Hey, Robbie! It was great to meet you in the Velocicoaster line.
Sorry we couldn’t chat longer!! Hope you loved it as much as we did!

Nice shirt. Go Braves!
The price is the same as my max distance hmm
Awesome! I’m trying to sell my laptop to get one 🤣 these are so cool!

Where can I get one of these?
Hmm, one of these, or 35 premium plastic used discs at Play it Again…?
Looks like a useful tool but probably won’t make my shopping list.
How isthe senor attached? I am concerned that repeated use would make the sensor come off the disk and break.
You don’t think that’d be their number one concern when creating this? Probably not an issue
when you said our Father sport and just went GOLF i died laughing 🤣🤣🤣 love that humor
What net is that and where u get it

It should be up in the description now!!

CRISP HIGH FIVES TO YOU MY FRIEND
There is no affiliate link?
Should be up now!!
I ordered mine a few weeks ago. Just waiting on October😢
Yeah probably will be like middle of the month. Mine arrived on September 19th so
Looks like you are on a bit of an angle, so is it taking that into account?

I think it would be a really cool idea if you took that disc into the field and compared the actual flight to the simulator and see how close they get
I actually did this and it was surprisingly accurate. It obviously doesn't factor in wind or elevation. The simulated distance VS measured distance was within 15'.

Now feed the data into a virtual disc golf course so you can play courses around the world with a net and tv
Is it worth the 300? Maybe they could sponsor me?
It'll be worth more than the stack of unthrown discs in my garage 🤣
Technically I think I would have called it data disc, because the first letter is the same, it makes a similar sound when you pronounce the product.

You forgot to post the affiliate link 🧐
Should be there now!
I wanted this thing so bad I tried to build it. I failed.
Back when I was kid the only way to know u wasn’t throwin right was to tear ur elbow
When I was a kid playing... we didn't even have elbows yet! :D
3mph tomahawk get rekt
I always get a chuckle when it catches those "throws"
300 dollars? YIKES
That’s cool and all but there’s no way I could pay $300 for that
It is something that woud be usefull in disk golf training hall.
@@haukikannel yeah absolutely useful for training and stuff like that I just don’t think I could personally bring myself to spend the money on it
I didn’t catch what he paid for the toy. Just curious….
way to much money, cant be worth it. Would be cheaper to pay a coach
This costs 100 dollars less than 1 1hour lesson with Paul ulibarri
some people just dont realize you need to buy 4 to compare to a price of a coach.@@yoda_bard_gaming1712
300 dollars? Yeh, no
over 400$ american LOLOLOLOLOL
?? I paid $300 for mine
Yeah I paid 300 for mine lol
$300 for this disc is way too much.
I'm not through the video yet, but for $300, it better have GPS tracking.
I mean you ain’t throwing it on a disc golf course so
