It's real easy to tell someone to take less money when it's not your bank account. LeBron had a choice on either taking less and hoping the Lakers could get more competitive or taking the bag and hurting their chances to get more talent. Him taking the money says more about how he feels about Rob Pelinka's team-building skills than anything else. Why take a pay cut just to lose anyway?

Lebron is definitely not top 3 all time. You bring up his decision making, court vision, and ability to drive and finish at the rim. But fail to consider his 4-6 finals record. And he needed to build super teams in miami to win his first and second ring. And i'm not saying he isn't good. He's great, but not top 3.
So Bron isn’t top-5 according to some because of super teams but they have Kareem and Magic up there, Kobe and Shaq up there. Those players played with other top-10 players in their primes. Bron and Jordan never played with a top-10 player in their prime. Bron has a title playing without a top-75 player and he beat a 73 win team to do it.

Requiring 10 Finals to win 4 despite being on stacked teams that he assembled (voluntarily lowered the degree of difficulty) excludes him from the top 5. If you're going to manufacture higher odds of winning you better get the job done. LeBron should at minimum be 8/10 in the Finals given the talent he has selected/chosen to play with, no other all time great had a choice and yet none of them has a losing record in the Finals.
