    Bad advice. First thing to check is the front blower fuse. Fuse is in the fuse block near the driver's foot. Left side in USA model. It's #12 on USA models. The blower can draw as much as 25amps. Causing the 30 amp fuse to run hot. Mine melted one of the terminals but the fuse was still good. Top terminal of the fuse was 140F when the fan was on max with new fuse. No voltage at blower motor with the old fuse. Mercedes Benz dealer said I needed a new blower motor and new blower motor resistor. I didn't need either one.I disassembled the blower motor and lubed it. And wired around the fuse block using a fuse link with a 30amp fuse. Saving yourself hundreds of dollars. And future problems. Bad design to run a fuse at over 75% of its rating(25amps on a 30amp fuse is 83% of its rating). The blower motor resistor is a solid state device with no resistors inside. It doesn't check out with a multi meter like regular blower motor resistors. This problem is hard to figure out and can give you headaches.

      I do have the same issue with my 2012 sprinter. The fuse no 14 melted then I replaced with a new one then the A/C worked for a few seconds and run out again. I changed the fuse no 14 for 3 times but nothing fixed. I wish if you have time make video step by step how to fix this issue. Thank you for ur time to write this hopeful comment!!!

    Is not misleading. He may be trying to solve the problem because is the same blower for AC. He may not be so clear about it but very helpful, I just solve my blower problem with this video.

    To all those claiming this has nothing to do with air conditioner are kidding themselves. An air conditioner needs to blow the cold air it produces, so ultimately the blower is part of the air conditioning system... Had similar problem, the fans were not blowing the cold air. When at standstill in traffic..nothing... when driving at 100km p/h the cold air was ok. Replacing the blower resistor fixed the problem. Whether there is an underlying issue causing the resistor to blow is another thing, but for $30 bucks, it's a pretty good fix.

    question, I replace the blower resistor my on my 2016 and still not working, my blower was working but it wasn't cooling that was and still the problem,
    what else I should be looking, any idea?
    Thanks.

    If your Merc is blowing hot air, whichis fair indication that the blower fuse is working, the first thing to do b4 running up expensive repairs is a visual check on the ambient air temperature on the intrument cluster on the dashboard. If the ambient temperature reading is abnormaly high, then the sensor has gone open circuit. Same deal if it reads abnormally low - from about 3.5 degrees centigrade to below. In either instance it affects the performance of your air conditioner and it will blow hot air. This is an intermittent problem I am having with the ambient temperature sensor on my 2014 Vito van. It reads low instead of high - as soon as it reads as low as 3.5 degrees (it sometimes reads as low as -17 C), I lose the air conditioner. It becomes a pain in the butt on a hot day. But it's an easy fix which I need to get around to b4 next summer.

    I'm pretty sure that's just the resistor for the fan speed control. Not anything to do with AC. But someone correct me if I'm wrong..

    • @patagualianmostly7437
      @patagualianmostly7437 7 місяців тому

      You are correct: That is merely a dropper "resistor" (but solid state) for the different fan speeds: It needs to be in the air flow for cooling under ALL conditions.
      If it is open circuit.... the AC will not come on...because the AC is wired in series with the fan: NO FAN. No AC.
      (Try putting your AC on without switching on the fan.....It will not operate.....will it? No matter what the status of your AC system.)

    Great info. I have 5 sprinters and all of them stopped blowing cold air. They are 2005 - 2007. They blow air but it’s hot. From your experience do you think I should try what you did here. I as well as my employees hope to hear back from you soon.

      Find a proper mechanic. Thermostats do not "leak" They either work or they don't: They are a switch. Not a gas control.
