I'm hearing a lot of people thinking it's gonna intensify and be a strong cat 2 or even a cat 3 by landfall. Not sure why that's not being talked about more in the media or actually being expected. Moving into moist air and more favorable wind shear which will definitely allow for rapid intensification later today and tomorrow
Because that's not going to happen and the people that you're listening to are wrong. Part of the storm is already touching the coast. Which means that it will soon have trouble gathering much steam. So at the very best it will be a category 1 or less. Learn how to read the weather, kid. No sense in freaking people out with lies.

Poor planning when it comes to construction down there. And as far as I can see nothing has changed and people are still building near the coast on shaky ground. And this is why we end up with so much more destruction these days when hurricanes hit. No one seems to learn from their mistakes. People just keep flocking to these low lying coastal areas and building expensive properties on them.... Dingbats. All dingbats.
That's because it's already starting to hug the coast and touch land. So there shouldn't be much more in intensification. Which is good because my mother in-law (as annoying as she can be) lives in Port Aransas just north of Corpus Christi area. She's in a nursing home and has breathing issues. She was afraid they'd have to evacuate. But now everything seems to be fine. So at least she's not freaking out anymore. Which she was a few days ago ..lol!
