It dawned on me I may have left out some VERY important information in this latest round of video clips. This drone does NOT have a 3-a is stabilized gimbal or in flight stabilization. The video footage it takes is sharp and clear, but it may be impossible to get smooth footage. We’ll see soon.
Nice job with this, Tim! You demonstrated many features well. Even an under 250-gram DJI drone will offer smoother footage. My last one was a Mavic Mini. 249 grams. Unfortunately, for commercial work, an FAA Part 107 license is required regardless of drone weight.. UA-cam is considered commercial work regardless of whether your channel is monetized. Ken Heron interviewed an FAA official who clarified that commercial work is anything that is "in furtherance of a business". UA-cam is a business. Again, great job with this video!
I agree with you about the worry of crashing a more expensive drone. I have one of the Neo's on order so I can try out this drone stuff with a more affordable crash, lol.
HA HA HA - first rule of photography - remember to take the lens cover off! Very nice presentation with a lot of useful information. While I'm not in the market for buying a drone, your presentation made me think twice as to my "need" for a drone. Just from an observation perspective, my only complaint about the drone was the card incompatibility issue, which you solved - but it should not be a problem to begin with. Also, I would hope there would be a way to silence the beeping noise while landing the drone. I agree with you on the stabilization issue and would hope a more advanced, i.e. expensive model, would have stabilization technology included. Overall, a nice beginner model to test for a first time user. Looking forward to seeing more of what it can do for you in future videos and photos. Great job Tim!!
Very nice. I have wanted to get a little drone for awhile now to record my golfing and this looks like it might actually work. One issue I see with it is the battery life I need about 3 hours of life to do the whole game if and when I get there. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the review. The Ruko U11 mini is my first drone. I purchased it for the same reason you did, it's not going to hurt so much if I crash or lose it. I love the way point feature. I am wondering if if/when it goes out of range will it come back to me. The information says that its an auto return drone if it loses signal, but that remains to be seen.
I'll be honest, the footage from that drone is extremely unstable. I don't know if there was an issue with that particular drone, but the gimbal should have corrected all of that shaky footage. The horizon is not straight as well. On my drones there's a feature that lets you calibrate that before takeoff.
That’s one of the things I talked about. It doesn’t have a 3-axis gimbal or in flight stabilization. Not sure I will ever get video footage that is usable.
@@TheNewRetiredMe It's awesome that companies are sending you products to test out and I'm glad you did. The situation with Dji drones is becoming a mess and it's amazing to me that a US company hasn't stepped up to make a great drone to challenge them. GoPro tried and failed.
@@LifeAsAllen I love all things DJI. My Pocket 3 is amazing. I just hope we can continue to use them. :). Ruko is now sending me a “real” drone. I would love to have stable video!
@@TheNewRetiredMe I, too, love the Pocket 3. From what I gather, if Dji is banned, it wouldn't affect drones already purchased? I hope that's the case.
You kept mentioning that because of the weight you will not need to register the drone. But since you plan to use it on a monetized channel your use will be considered commercial. You will need a FAA section 107 certification and the drone will need to be registered regardless of the weight. I doubt anyone would report you but i heard the fine is $10k 😮 Not something to ignore, and you might want to check into this further.

boss move!
I hope this is a winner. It would make a great Christmas gift. Looks great for a beginner.
😊
So fun that you received the drone, and I’m looking forward to future footage.
😊👍

A buttery smooth presentation.
Thank you 😊
👋
Wow! Jim and I learned a lot from you by watching this video. I had no idea how complex a drone could be. So cool! 👍
😉😊
I'll look forward to the next flight/video, and hopefully it will be during the daytime when it's light enough to see everything much better.👌👏
🤗👍
Great presentation!. Really fascinating. Thanks!
😎
It was a good transition from yesterday to today. You make the technical easy to understand which is a great gift. Thanks Tim
Pretty cool, thanks for sharing! I will be looking forward to your next video. Have a great week! 🙂😘❤
😊
Fascinating
trully!
Unboxing is FUN! I like the case and you match the gray. I'm not sure you don't know what you are talking all the time😄. Joan
😊
This is fascinating!
indeed!

It is supposed to work better in lower altitudes. I have my doubts.

Thank you. Yeah, I learned that after this video. I guess I’ll start studying. :)
