Watch a super in depth video on Easter Eggs and Lore that was missed in these first two videos (for length and other reasons): ua-cam.com/video/epOXGBy8Qg8/v-deo.html
Yea seems like a good idea
Yes please
PART 3 PLEASEE
I cant afford VR so this is the only way I can experience these games
A secrets video would be great, VR games like these don't have alot of people really diving into their easter eggs and interesting stuff in the game like that so I really appreciate it
If you look in the bottom left corner of the mirror in the bone lab it says “Warning reflection is a living void entity, do not break glass”
It's a reference to anomalies, the things powered by void energy that shouldn't be there in the Myth OS. Something that acts different than it should. For example, an unbreakable cup that technically should be able to be broken. Play Boneworks if You're able too, it will enlighten You in that. Cheers!
Which also probably explains why you can’t see your guns in the mirror
@@Asfggfgbv In reality, it's because the "mirrored" character is just a clone of Your character doing mirrored poses as it would be resources expensive to render everything in the traditional way. But in the lore, that could be possible. A mirror that is an anomaly, as it doesnt work as any normal mirror would.
@@PajteTheTomat It's also backed up because the void energy escapes the mirror in Pillar Climb
@@VLTNO good observation, but didn't we kill it there at the end?
One thing I find very interesting is when he says "The song is the road, without it we're just driving in circles," he is not only referencing how you just play the game over and over again in the same way without mods, he also genuinely means it. Becasue when he drives away from you at the menu, he isn't playing any music, and actaully just drives in circles until you leave the game, or select a level. He doesn't despawn or anything.
Yea this games whole message feels like ''Protect VR and make stuff''
DUDE I WAS ABOUT TO SAY THAT😂😂😂
The red valve is also a reference to the glitch in boneworks where you could just fly with the valve
naw its the red valve from the people who make tf2 THEY STOLE IT THOSE SONS OF B****S DID IT
lol yea
𝙸 𝚌𝚊𝚗 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚏𝚒𝚛𝚖
That's the only connection
@@Midget32 no, it was discovered by a speedrunner and used for, you guessed it, speedrunning boneworks, he was referencing speedrunning as one of his favorite passtimes(?, hobbies?)
boneworks and bonelab don’t disappoint imo, the deep lore and the feeling you get when you realize everything connects
Fr it all made sense to me at the end
Stress Level Zero knows what’s up!
And deadFM is gonna add even more
the story telling is bad
Lores great
@@Arctis1000 yes! It doesn’t care about having a beginning middle and end. That’s fair.
12:55 He *is* saying it to us, as parts of the dialogue that follows are exactly the same as the radio messages we hear from him all the way until we enter the bone lab, verbatim.
This means that the starting and ending sequence of Bonelabs take place at the exact same time, one in the void, and the other in MythOS.
So basically by the time the credits get finished another person finished the game (lore wise) is that what your saying? (If not then that’s what I think)
@@Bread_37 I think it's literally the same statement as when you first played, not that he's saying it to someone else. So when you hear him say "signature edition blade can cut through anything" during your first playthroughit is the exact same "time" as when you hear him say it in the cab. He did say time is blurry, so it could just be them trying to communicate the narrative point of obfuscation of time, meaning that time itself is questionable and confusing in the void.
i could be wrong, but that was my interpretation.
This probably has a connection to his “we are at the beginning and also at the end” comment. Maybe time is non-linear in the void
@@Formaldehyde499 the cat cryptoid also makes the arguement stronger. themes of time is wrong here. Mixed with the fact that the cat took the form of a disturbing clock thats always watching you may have been to scare and mock you.
That loop sends a happy chill down my spine.
16:13
These are actually the recommended settings when creating a new Bonelabs level in Unity!
City Light Setttings are for Lightmap Baking/Lighting Settings (Putting down shadows of things as a texture as opposed to continuously making the shadow calculations, along with a couple other general lighting settings)
City Occlusion are for Rendering Occlusion (Basically making it so when you can't see something because like a wall or a building is in the way, your system doesn't have to render it)
City Navigation is the settings to use so that NPCs and Enemies can accurately navigate around the level
This need to be pinned or something. Nice catch.
Wow thank you
did you just say BONELABs!
O
1:24 isnt it a reference to the boneworks speedrun strat where you use the red valve to fly in the museum?
that’s exactly what i came here to say lol
Yep
I believe so
Yea was about to comment that lol
If you linger in the void long enough intentionally after the main menu reloads with this new main menu, you'll get an idea of what he means by there's something hostile out there. The blue light will actually turn into an eyeball by rendering on top of the floor rather than beneath it. It appears in the form of a left eyeball made entirely of light. On the left hand side of the menu and the bottom right corner is a list of the cryptids from all of the lore so far. If you get a good look and a good grab of a cultist, their camera is actually a left eyeball. The eye is watching you. The eye deemed you as extraneous and tried to hang you. The eye is still watching you, waiting... Soon new paths will open. Tuscany has a hidden door with currently locked away features. Mine dive has a hidden door with locked away features. A clipboard in the museum basement tells us that there's another in halfway Park, it isn't there yet but it will be. There are also several more planned and a bunch of different locations including fantasy arena. Anywhere you can find an ID card is going to have a door. There are also two doors hidden underneath the basement of the bone lab itself.
You really need to record a video of the main menu eye, you're the only one who has reported seeing it.
please show us a video of this, this is interesting
unless you're lying but if you aren't show us
@@Owlet7 I got a screenshot so I'll make sure to upload that. I probably realistically won't have the time to do a lore video until probably the week before Christmas. But then I could probably just cover what other people have not. But you can see the other impressions of the eye just grab a cultist the same way you would grab a hazmat Omni. Enjoy being freaked out frick out! As for being the only one you have to remember I went corner to corner in the void and that's after getting slowed down to a crawling walk and I just kept pressing and pressing until I found an elevator. And now the damn thing is under the floor which pisses me off. You can still see where it's supposed to be because on the quest to the shadows are baked on but but.. I know we're not supposed to find it again yet but damn!
Oh speaking of, I'm sorry I don't remember the name to credit the person but somebody else told me they found an eye in the museum basement behind an ammo crate. This was the textured version often found in tunnels watching you in bone works, in areas where you realistically would never turn around.
@@nemtz I'll try to at least upload something tonight. It'll probably be as lame as the gun trailing video that I did it in response to someone else that was trying it. I was hoping that when I got back into videos it would be like a big well produced thing that I can go hey I'm back but... I work too damn much. But yeah I'll record something, I was able to figure out how to do voice in the quest to you and so on and so forth and that's where I managed to get my images of the eye and so on and so forth because at the time I didn't think to put a freaking video of it, I thought I could just make it appear whenever I wanted to but it's harder after the patch. They redid All the floor panels so they all look different and it makes it easier to find your way back I'll admit that it's easier to find your way back. But because of this the eye no longer always appears on top of the floor, making it more hidden more obscure more a pain in the ass because now you have to legitimately go running around looking all over the damn place and then there's a chance that if they hit the elevator they probably made it so that this thing would actually make you freaking run around for 37 God damn minutes before it appears, because that's how long it took the first damn time. And then from there it just stayed there where all you had to do was climb up on top of something it was there. What's the tall enough Avatar you can actually still see it but you bug out so bad it's not cool. I'll screw around see if I can also catch it on video with this current patch. But basically it is literally the blue light that you see behind the main menu, it is always the exact same distance away from you and that is literally the top of the eye. It's blue it's made of gradients the center is the lightest color of all of the shades of blue, and it kind of gives you that impression that you get from anime character when their soul is completely dead or they have no good intention with regards to you. It blinks in a rather strange way in which the transition shades and the pupil disappears only to reappear it is the most bizarre thing to stare into. I don't believe and I have not seen any triggers associated with it so I don't really know why other people haven't seen it yet. It could just be some sort of bug with the floor because since there's no triggers associated with the map at present aside from a broken one relating to the elevator, all I can think of is that after enough time it just go through the floor but then that doesn't explain why I could just see it at any point in time after the fact until the damn patch. Then again like right before the patch I downloaded the 110% safe because I wanted to be able to play with the various NPCs, tell there could have been something that I did that got a trigger before because I haven't screwed with a cat since transitioning to a new save... But I highly doubt it keeping track of stuff like that, the only meaningful thing the cat does is in the stress level zero office he'll point out a door that doesn't exist and because of that the hand screw up and do weird s***. You guys are making me think too much. Anyways it'll be a while before my daughter gets off of this thing and I guess after I screw around with some avatars and giving somebody tips on how to make his corrupted and agent null buddies actually useful, I'll see about making at least some kind of short to get people talking about it.
Side note if you're making avatars and you want them to be physically stronger without screwing up their proportions, add more content inside of them. A hollow character is much weaker than a character with bones inside of them or organs. It doesn't have to be detailed it doesn't have to have a whole lot to them but for some reason the more you put inside the stronger they are they don't have to be physically buff you can have a character that just has skin underneath their clothes and that automatically makes them stronger than a character that doesn't have skin under the clothes, if you didn't throw in some fleshy tube thing can make it invisible so nobody actually sees it glitch through the character, you can easily make a character about 10 times stronger than the normal character of the same height and body. It is worth noting however that this also changes how much they weigh
@6:00 you talk about Tall's reflection becoming the void monster(for some reason) but iirc there's a clipboard that talks about there are no true mirrors in the void. Only boxes with Void Mimics that will mimic you when you get near it.
@henry whatt bro a scammer replied to you report them
Its kind of genius that they've made a great story around what would've otherwise been a simple sandbox
On my second playthrough I was completely shocked to hear what he said to us at the end playing over the radios in the beginning
The red valve mentioned on the radio actually refers to the speedrunning strategy found in boneworks where holding the valve prop next to your head, running into a wall, and then jumping lead you to being launched at a high speed
I love how STZ puts breaking the game and modding INTO the lore of the Boneworks Universe. They acknowledge that in this time of technology, no game or program is safe from glitches and breaks, which is something you don’t get from any other Studio.
Bro the depth of this lore is what makes me so attached to such a game it’s soo… profound, and real..
Technically, the elevator was actually supposed to bring us to the real world. The first clipboard tells us that the elevator is the only way to return to the real world after he lost his transit pass to be able to get to a different simulation where he could have accessed a VR headset like in bone works in order to exit properly. However when we try to exit the simulation, it crashed because we are not human and we do not have a real world return to.
What I like about bonelab is that they make the modding community and mods as part of their lore with the Lavagang
These have been excellent! I'd be interested in here's you speculate about what machine king will end up being too
Two things I noticed: One, Jimmy has Ford's keycard on his taxi's window. Second, the messages that the Heaven's Reach people wrote, some of them are the rules of Heaven's Reach (the ones stated at the stone in Descent), followed by the Machine King symbol from the Duck Season gates.
Thanks for making this!! It makes me and others realize how great SLZs worldbuilding is! So excited for side B.
Something is coming. And we better be ready when it does.
the cat cryptoid may feature heavily it walked threw the door. its there in the offices the creepy cat clock is its form. or at least what you think it is so your mind doesn't break. Which is fitting considering themes of "time is strange in the void" the creature took the form of a disturbing clock to mock you.
definitly would love to see a part 3 great job on this
I just watched part 1 last night, so I’m glad to see part 2 out right after I watched part 1.
It's great
amazing, so glad that you're finishing this
one thing I found interesting is if you pay attention to all the stuff jay says in the taxi, a lot of it is the exact same as all the radios you find while playing through the game, but one is slightly different. when you try to press the emergency exit button he says the exact same as the end of the taxi ride but in the emergency exit button response, he says "your not allowed any closer" compared to the end of the taxi ride being "Im not allowed any closer"
I love your videos they make everything seem so simple even when their not.
1:31 the valve the radio guy is referencing to is actually the valve glitch from boneworks, it's collision is weird so if you put in on your head and do stuff it will act weird.
Love how "fast", who supposedly runs at 30mph, still runs slower than the average person's top speed.
0:32 i think this is referencing the valve in the museum right after the climbing section in boneworks where if you push it into your neck you would go staight up. it was mainly used by speedrunners though.
I STRAIGHT UP JUST FINISHED THE FIRST EPISODE AND WAS LIKE NO SECOND EPISODE I REFRESH AND LETS GOOOOO
nice deep dive i have another chunk of lore to annoy my friends with thank you
I just love watching these because I've already played through the whole game.
thank you for uploading this I've been waiting.
More plz so amazing to get a clear picture of this amazing game Thanks alot!
I love the theme of Boneworks and Labs so much, it feels like I could understand what’s going on but without knowing. It’s also just really cool in general.
TY FOR PART 2 YOU ARE MY SUPER IDOL
I would love that full explanation!
Bonelab was a great game, just wish it was longer
6:01 the reason the reflection turns to a void ball is explained in an update, the mirror reflections are void entity’s mimicking your movement, that’s why you have no weapons in the mirror
God I love the lore of these games
This is what we all needed 😂 thank you!
I've been awaiting p2. Thank you
Great video once again
You should make another part discussing minor details
Thank you so much for the video!
@UCjRxYfbO4-K84Y3FmXAZdsg Spambot?
Subbed. Great video, would love to see a video about the Easter eggs and secret lore
Thank you for making more
I can’t believe I didn’t see this before. The gate that leads to 98.6 dead fm has nine’s footprints going through it. Perhaps nine is part of the story?
Great video!
At 6:00, the "reflections" are actually void entities that mirror the player, at least that's hinted by little warnings, notably in the BoneLab Hub mirror where the BodyMall is
YEEEEESS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO!!
The radio where the guy talks about the valve is actually something in boneworks, in museum level there's a valve, and if you put it in your head and jump you will actually start flying
Best video j have watched in a while
yes, i do want a part 3
Ive been waiting for part 2 ever since part one came out
Thanks for making this man hopefully you could do an Easter egg video too ❤
My interpretation about the end being the beggining is that the story mode is just the end of the beggining of the game and that the real game is something else. The classic conversation between two players, a casual that would say "Yo I have just completed the main story I have nothing to do" and a fanatic that would respond "Yo, with how much there is to do, that's just the beggining of the game" meaning that, for him, that's just a small part of the full experience that the game is. What I think SLZ wants is that players finish their game by creating mods, which seems to be the main goal of this title.
Also, some of the lines he has said in the radios are the exact same ones he says while in the cab, so most likely, since SLZ reffers to time not being lineal or continuous in other sources (sometimes even dimensions are perceived in a different form, for example, in a universe, another universe was bein perceived as just clipboards with text), could mean that when we hear his voice from the radios we are hearing that at the same time he retransmits that (meaning that while we were playing and hearing his voice in the radio, we were, at the same time, inside of the cab with him, as if it was our present self being in the cab with him and our past self being still in the previous parts of the game)
The interpretation that when we end we are at the beggining as "there's no lineality and this is a continuous loop" might be accurate to a certain degree. It might be accurate considering we can replay the "campaign/story mode" but it's not accurate at all if we consider we have progressed and can now use the character selector and have unlocked items and such. The way I see it, when we play the campaign again, it's just the same thing as when we were in different locations (cab/previous parts of the game) at the same "time".
Also as a side note, when he says "I'm not allowed anywhere closer, it's a long story", in the first part you interpret that the player is not allowed ("You're not allowed anywhere closer"), while in reality, he says it's him who is not allowed closer. The audio file seems to be the exact same and hearing it back, he says "I'm"
Been waiting for this, love your videos man
wanna talk about bonelab lore with me I'm bored
THIS IS SO GOOD
7:59 is the funniest part
If you actually listen even closer to the beginning radios you can hear that the first like 4 I think are pretty much the exact same as the beginning of the taxi ride instead of just the knife
12:16 I love the multi pass
Thank you
Part 2 to an amazing video :)
Love these videos!!!
Need that video on the easter eggs now
One thing I noticed when I replayed the game is that the radios plays things you hear from Jimmy in the car ride, and because of how the void exists outside time and space I think Jimmy is talking to a new player, or a new us.
yes make part 3
In the car he says "there's something else out there, something hostile" which we already heard previously in the game from the radio
Lets gooo, another episode
If you make a part 3, could you explain which parts of the bone story overlap, or link to one another
Very cool!
he wants mentioning the valve index, he was talking about a common speedrun strategy involving a red valve that lets you fly really fast in Boneworks
YES WE WANNA SEE MORE PART 3333333!!!!
The ‘putting the thing in his head’ is an eater egg to the valve skip in boneworks, there was a red valve that had some strange properties that allowed you to fly if you pressed it to your head.
I thought it was that but i never really thought it was that
@@youtubeyay579 hmmm yes logic
Thankyou for making the videos, this game makes me too sick to play but I'm glad I still get to know their story.
Very cool video, would love to see an easter egg one
Yes! Thank you!
Around 3:40 talking about the cat. That's why I kept expecting the ability to wall run or something.
1:22 i think it is more of a reference to the valve guy. "a red valve and put it on the back of my head"
1:23 / 17:29 I'm pretty sure it meant the red valve in Boneworks that made you float. its pretty obvious. Boneworks says multiple times that it is a city meaning yes, he could have easily just brought it back to his home or just found another valve.
5:36
It seem to me like all of the body log stuff was meant to prepare you for the void. His comment here sounds more like a warning for the future than anything else. Also it’s implied that everything that you do in the section takes place within the bone works engine which is meant to separate people from the void.
+1 to this. @Virtual Panda you don't technically get to the void till the end when Jimmy pulls you up into it.
When you said the new nullbodies, they were not corrupted by the void ( i think) in boneworks, the corrupted zombies were from melon belly, and there IS melon belly in bonelab to. so the corrupted null bodies probably drank to much melon belly , and managed to get corrupted.
great video
Very nice.
my theory is that ford is the machine king (crown you get when killing the king ford near the end of the game sorta backs this up) and the next game will follow the same character as bonelab tracking down the machine king (ford) for help in this seemingly upcoming war. that or the war is against the machine king and ford might command an army of omniprojectors (ford used to be the head of security and omniprojecters are a security force created by sabrelake so maybe ford found a way to 'corrupt' them with void energy) but hey, thats just a theory..... a game theory
Earned the sub
Please do more!
One cool thing I did notice is that there is a gammon logo on the body log, it’s at a weird angle but it’s there. It definitely seems as if the fantasyland team has some gammon connections.
Part 2 baby
More more more more more more make part 3
At the end when you are in the cab he is repeating the same thing as what you here on the radio before the mine level. I would assume this is because time is non-linear inside the void therefore he can broadcast what he says as he talks to us in the cab to our old self playing the game before
yay more content
idk if you missed this or thought this wasnt importent but in the car in the end of the game the opening line is the same one we hear at the start of the game in like the first radio
I made the mistake of making don’t fence me in my alarm sound on my phone for a few months and now I get all the bad feelings of waking up from an alarm every time I hear that opening
Part 3 please
This game was so fun but I didn’t understand the story thanks for the explanation
MORE!!!!!
Keep it up came in at lore for boneworks because it was a great explanation gonna stay for more.
YES FINALLY
I would love the secrets vid
need more
man bonelab looks so cool, i wish i could play it
