The Australian music industry laid claim to quite a lot of the best male rock vocalist of all time even if some were initially from other places or just joined Australian groups

- Jon Stevens (From New Zealand)
- Bon Scott (From Scotland)
- Brian Johnson (from England)
Well, Barnsy, Farnsy and Bon Scott were all children when they moved to Aus and they grew up here, so I'm not sure why anyone thinks it's unfair of us to "claim" them, as they are as much Australian as they are those other ethnicities (and I say that as someone who was born in another country and has dual ethnic identity). Not sure why Hutchence is on that list, since he was born and mostly raised here.
It's true that Jon Stevens is originally a Kiwi and started his career there, but it should be noted that he had already become an Aussie citizen by the time he found success with Noiseworks here. I've never heard anyone claim Brian Johnson as an Aussie, only AC/DC as a band (which it is).
