Grant Gustin Breaks Silence On 'The Flash' Show Ending Announcement

- "The Flash" star Grant Gustin is getting ready for his final race. The hit CW drama is coming to an end after nine seasons, and now, the star of the show is reflecting on his time playing the iconic DC comics character in an Instagram video posted on Friday. "It's been an incredible nearly ten years of playing this character and getting to be a part of this show with an amazing cast and crew," he said in part. Grant has been playing speedster Barry Allen, aka The Flash since the show premiered in October 2014, a role that he says he will live with forever. The 13-episode final season of the show will air on the CW in 2023.

well since the show is going to end maybe they will? but to take a guess my guess is he's gonna do broadway next that after all has always been his dream. than who knows but i have no source i'm just guessing

At Marvel it is now common to see characters introduced in the series appear in the films. At DC, it is rather only characters introduced in the films that appear in the series. That's why I have huge doubts.

This may be the final season of the CW’s The Flash, but I really hope in the future WB offers Grant Gustin a role in their theatrical blockbusters.

Grants my favourite actor and my favourite hero. Everything he is inspires me to be better and to follow my instincts.
There have been a lot of bad moments in the latter seasons but it's still one hell of a run for him. 9 seasons is good enough and at least they're getting a chance to close it out on their own terms rather than an abrupt cancellation.
All seasons had a heap of great positives...

This show actually has a really special place in my heart me and my dad got into this show back when it first started he never got to finish season 1 with me cause he passed away before he ever got really into it but grant gustin thank you for making this show have a meaningful impact for me much respect and pops truly loved how u did the flash he would of loved all the other seasons to I'm sure of it hope u continue in the future with another role for the flash down the road

He was 23 and now he almost is 33 I remember in the show he used to run 300 MPH at the start and went to 4000+ miles it was to watch you as your growing it was fun man
We should all petition to have him play flash in the DCEU
Please invest all the money possible into this last season! Fix the cgi, make the story great, and make the villains look powerful! I know that I speak for all flash fans that have been watching since day 1 that we all would love a great send off to the character and show!

I'm gonna miss the flash just hearing season nine is gonna be the last season makes me sad the cast always made me happy when I watched the bloopers or the real show but I think I'm gonna miss grant the most he was my first cleberty crush and he was a good actor I wanna say thank you to the flash cast for making me happy when ever I watched the flash.
I love this show so much and have been watching it alongside all other Arrowverse shows which sadly I think most have ended recently, so sad. I love them all! Wow, 9 seasons, I think The Flash is the longest running Arrowverse show so far! The crossovers were amazing too! I hope we can see these shows continuing, re-vived and returning again! Love them so much and the cast were amazing! The finales are going to make me sad. I am not ready to say goodbye to these amazing Arrowverse shows! :( They have been a huge part of my life also. Would have been great to have them running for much longer, Supergirl was only 6 seasons, Arrow was 8, DC legends of tomorrow I think is still running (7th season at moment I think), Batwoman I need to check and Black Lightening -still catching up with all of them...have to check if there are more!

I like him as the flash. I might have checked out of watching Flash weekly after season 3 premiere (felt like they made Barry regress a lot), but i still put in on once a while when nothing else was on. At 1st I didnt like him as flash, but he won me over really fast.

I'm really happy to see that series went on for 9 years. The Flash is favorite show and superhero because I grew up watching it for almost 9 years and it really helped me focus on something else when I was lonely and it introduced me to the DC universe and I'm grateful for that.

I’ve been watching The Flash since I was in undergrad. It has been one of my favorite shows. Happy to have him as The Flash. He did the DAMN thing playing Barry Allen.

I have been seeing flash when I was a young toddler he made so many great memories with this show although it was a bit repetitive at the last shows but he was a great actor and its so sad to see that how flash will end after all this memories.

First I wanna say that this is my opinion, for season 9 aka the final season I think that they should do something that circles back to the beginning like how in one of the episodes reverse flash talks about how Barry steals his shine in the future when he first gets his speed by saving people before he did and how it was his break out moment and he stole it from him and that's when he first started to hate him. After that I think reverse flash should get the idea to kill Barry in the past and stop him from stealing his moment in the future and that's when it circles back to the first episode.
Again this is my opinion and it's also a way I feel like they would best benefit off the last season by circling back to the start also I didn't fully think about everything it's just a in the moment idea for how I think the last season should go.

In my opinion the show is trash compared to the movies. The movies have better action sequences and writing. I'd be happy if they canceled the show to have a better movie series than a show with the writing that a 2nd grader could put together.
If Ezra Miller keeps shooting himself in the foot, DCEU may not have a choice BUT replace him with Grant Gustin.🤨⚡⚡⚡
Since the series in the 90s cancellation, I have been waiting for this for decades. You are an amazing actor and thanks for bringing me back to my childhood every single week. The Flash is my favorite male super hero (WW female) and seeing you plus the other characters who were in the Flash's comics, made my heart smile every time. Killer Frost was my second favorite and Elongated Man (regardless of the actor). WHAT AN AMAZING DECADE. I just hope to see you in The Flash Movie on a Cameo. You have earned it Grant! GRACIAS!!!

I remember the wedding episode when Barry bumped into Nora. I knew right away who she was and the significance of her character. I had the biggestvsmile on my face.
I have bin watching this whole series for the past week. This is so disappointing for it to end. It had the best values of any series ever and I am a 70 year old grandma. It will be sad to see such a wholesome show end. Not many these days are about love and values. Please rethink this decision. This is a good value system for our kids to learn. Love, trust, family and truth.

Its a good thing the shows ending,actors in everything eventually move on from what there known best for on to new projects,like when supernatural ended the actors moved on and got more diverse roles not being tied to one show forever!
