Scott, have you done a video on getting one's S.S. check? I have mine deposited into a credit card account, American Express. It's great for the states, I can write checks from it to pay bills or pay bills directly. But if I am moving full time to NI, what is the best way to obtain those funds. For instance, rent, so I'll need cash? Thank you for your knowledge.
What most people would do is just continue to have the checks deposited to your bank in the US. Don't change anything. There are no checks (AFAIK) here. We use cash and credit cards. If you pay with a CC (which you should do most of the time - see my recent video on CCs.) To pay your CC bill, you want that money in the US. If you are going to use cash in Nicaragua, grab it from the ATM the same as if you were in the US. Nice and easy. Treat it as if you were on a long vacation.
In my experience, those individuals most averse to moving abroad are those that have rarely or never left the country, and I don't include Canada or Mexico in my 'going overseas' assessment.
My fear. Is I’m not sure how to make enough money to change again when I move to Nicaragua I will be all in. Also I worry if for some reason I wasn’t allowed to stay or come back I don’t know what I’d do
But ht epower of the expat says you never need to truly worry about being allowed back in. First, that's not a true concern. Sure, the US and Canada do stuff like that. What other country does? This isn't North America. The idea that you'd ever get kicked out, unless you are a criminal, just isn't a thing, at all. Making money, well that's harder. But you need so much less than when living nearly anywhere else. You need to earn so much less. While sure, you have to figure out the right income path for yourself, in theory it is nearly always easier to do it from Nicaragua than from the US or Canada.
So first of all, nomads are a category of expat. Expat refers to you "not going back" to your home country. It has nothing to do with where you "are", only where you are not. That's what expat MEANS. But given that my connection to Nicaragua is already nine years, and we keep connecting to it more and more and making a life here... what makes you categorize me as a nomad, without a plan?
"The power of the EXPAT!" WELL SAID SAM! another home-run here mate!
Thanks!

It's true. The more you travel, the more it's "so easy, why did I think this would be scary?"

Most of us are AFRAID to BREAK the CHAINS - that bind US to a SYSTEM. Greetings from “ the City that Knows How” San Francisco Ca.😀
Well said!
You are only trapped out of your home nation, if your passport gets revoked (Snowden)
You are nomads, in five years you’ll be gone. You’ll go everywhere but your own country
Why do you say this?

I've been a nomad in the past, but only for the purpose of finding the right place to settle down. which we did, and we've been here a while now.
