Even if the son can resist the temptation, others may not and it draws troubles towards the family nonetheless. What I think is, Bull joined forces with the Heaven to get some revenge at Wukong for what happened in Journey to the West. But he never expected for Wukong to ACTUALLY die, since he always saw Wukong as a dazzling figure as seen in the animation. He later regret his decision and kept Wukong's body within him to keep it safe as a way to honor Wukong and redeem himself, rather than letting it be taken by other Guais, even if it went against Wukong's warning. It's a series of unfortunate events that could be avoided if the bros had time to sit back and talked in length. That said, Wukong's plan for his own reincarnation is top secret after all and if he ever told Bull it may very well compromised the plan.

Are you trying to know the story that the video game is trying to tell you or are you trying to know the actual novel? Don’t get me wrong. The video game is really close and tells a lot of accurate details to the novel, but there is a couple slight details that they aren’t telling.
It is told in non-linear fashion. Bull King was one of Wukong's sworn brothers but betrayed Wukong causing his death which kickstarted the whole BMW. There were three main moments here: 1. Right before Wukong's death and his 6 senses are separated, where Bull King held him in his arms before he died. 2. Flashback to the first battle against Heavenly Army where Wukong and his brothers rebelled against Heaven. The rebellion failed, Wukong got imprisoned for 500 years and Bull King's wife has to be forcefully impregnated by drinking from Childbearing river. This birthed Red Child, who was one of the last Yaksha along with his mother, Bull King's wife. Red Child later wants to use Wukong's enlightened body to become stronger to be able to fight Heaven for avenging Yaksha race, which was wiped out by Heaven. 3. Another Flashback to when Wukong is escorting his master to the West in JttW. They encountered an area that is covered in fire that they cannot continue unless they can get Bull King's wife fan. Bull King doesn't want to give Wukong the fan, which caused a huge fight between them. The climax of the fight was when Bull King became angry due to Bajie killed his concubine (not his wife), turning to primal form. Wukong being on the side of Heaven then got assistance from them, including Ne Zha (the guy with flame wheel), who helped subdued the Bull King by decapitated him. Note that Bull King is also extremely powerful like Wukong so he cannot be killed just by decapitation. Wukong loses and the Bull has to go back home 3. The bulls wife was forced to bear a child of an endangered race of people (her cousins, Yaksha race) while the bull was at war 4. Bull seeks revenge and wages war on entire celestial realm, at this point wukong has amnesty because of his pilgrimage. 6. Bull dies (but is reincarnated) and decides to join the heavenly forces as wukong suggested he should. 7. After buddhahood, wukong quits, but heavenly order keeps bothering him, this is the start of the game. The bull (and 4 other bosses we fight) are part of a group that kill Wukong and receive parts of the relic, hence the beginning of this animation. 8. Wukong tells bull not to take the relic, but he does anyway because he is a bull, stubborn and committed. 9. The scene with red boy and rakshasi is essentially present day, with red boy trying to take the relic, and the princess giving you the fan. Also, bull king can get behead and regrows ( not a direct killing). So, bull king got be headed ( as seen in the animation short, and that’s why wukong said he keep on making the wrong choice). Keep on fast forward, wukong done the job that Buddha asked for, and even earned himself the Buddha title, but unfortunately heaven won’t let him “retire” and roam freely, and this time bull king made any wrong decision, joined the heavens army alongside with other yaoguai to hunt down wukong( you can see other Yaoguai in the animation short too, they are flowing above the sky). The only good choice that bull king made after wukong’s death is that wukong told him to stay away from the relics, don’t use it. Because it only bring in more trouble ( both from the celestial Court and other Yaoguai).

He later regret his decision and kept Wukong's body within him to keep it safe as a way to honor Wukong and redeem himself, rather than letting it be taken by other Guais, even if it went against Wukong's warning.
It's a series of unfortunate events that could be avoided if the bros had time to sit back and talked in length. That said, Wukong's plan for his own reincarnation is top secret after all and if he ever told Bull it may very well compromised the plan.

In fact, Princess Iron Fan had said that without the Monkey King, she and her husband would have lived peacefully. Even with the interference from above, they could’ve simply lived separately. But at that time, the Bull Demon King still exploded in anger. In the original story, the lineup to subdue the Bull Demon King was quite grand - fitting for someone who crowned himself the “Equal to Heaven Great Sage.” After all was said and done, the incident at Flaming Mountain caused the relationship between the Bull Demon King and the Monkey King to hit rock bottom, once again showing that the Bull Demon King had not chosen the right path.
3. Returning to the present, the Bull Demon King, along with the other demon kings, cooperated with Erlang Shen (whose true motives were unclear) to besiege the Monkey King together. Remembering the Monkey King’s warning, the Bull Demon King didn’t dare give it to him. Red Boy, furious, called him a coward, leading to a father-son rift.
Chapter 5 is one of the saddest if not THE saddest ending of all video games.

What's the meaning of WuKong ? In chinese it's 悟空. Wu is 悟. Means enlightening, comprehending or awakening. Kong is 空. Means wisdom, vast emptiness space. So ”Wukong” is enlightening the wisdom as vast as universe. Hope players can get to know more about why WuKong !

I don’t really understand the lore of wukong too much, can someone explain this ending further?
Are you trying to know the story that the video game is trying to tell you or are you trying to know the actual novel? Don’t get me wrong. The video game is really close and tells a lot of accurate details to the novel, but there is a couple slight details that they aren’t telling.
It is told in non-linear fashion. Bull King was one of Wukong's sworn brothers but betrayed Wukong causing his death which kickstarted the whole BMW. There were three main moments here:
1. Right before Wukong's death and his 6 senses are separated, where Bull King held him in his arms before he died.
2. Flashback to the first battle against Heavenly Army where Wukong and his brothers rebelled against Heaven. The rebellion failed, Wukong got imprisoned for 500 years and Bull King's wife has to be forcefully impregnated by drinking from Childbearing river. This birthed Red Child, who was one of the last Yaksha along with his mother, Bull King's wife. Red Child later wants to use Wukong's enlightened body to become stronger to be able to fight Heaven for avenging Yaksha race, which was wiped out by Heaven.
3. Another Flashback to when Wukong is escorting his master to the West in JttW. They encountered an area that is covered in fire that they cannot continue unless they can get Bull King's wife fan. Bull King doesn't want to give Wukong the fan, which caused a huge fight between them. The climax of the fight was when Bull King became angry due to Bajie killed his concubine (not his wife), turning to primal form. Wukong being on the side of Heaven then got assistance from them, including Ne Zha (the guy with flame wheel), who helped subdued the Bull King by decapitated him. Note that Bull King is also extremely powerful like Wukong so he cannot be killed just by decapitation. Because of this Bull King held the grudge against Wukong, resulting in his betrayal and later Wukong's death. However, at the last moment, Bull King realized everything was because of the Heaven, and similar to him Wukong was a victim, so he reget his decisions but it was too late. He got Wukong's body but doesn't want to use it because of regret, but also doesn't want to give it to Red Child for his revenge. Only until the Destine One arrived, then he finally parted with Wukong's body.
The story is about the cycle of hatred and Bull King's indecisions causing his life fell apart.
In the novel, the reason why the monkey king needed the fan was because when he was on the journey to the west, they needed to cross a volcano mountain type thing. Whatever it was, it was uncrossable, so the only thing that monkey king could think of to put out the flames was the bull King‘s wife’s fan as what you see in the story, so he needed the fan to get where he needed to go for his master. That’s why he told him to serve a master because he was already in his journey but things changed when the celestials showed up. They helped and Wokong

This is the hardest to understand.
It's not in order. The real order is:
1. Wukong and the Bull are friends, he helps Wukong in the heavenly rebellion (along with others not shown in the cutscene)
2. Wukong loses and the Bull has to go back home
3. The bulls wife was forced to bear a child of an endangered race of people (her cousins, Yaksha race) while the bull was at war
4. Wukong is released 500 years later and tries to get past the mountain, fights the entire bull family with Zhu Baije, kills the Bulls concubine (fox princess, not shown in any scenes).
5. Bull seeks revenge and wages war on entire celestial realm, at this point wukong has amnesty because of his pilgrimage.
6. Bull dies (but is reincarnated) and decides to join the heavenly forces as wukong suggested he should.
7. After buddhahood, wukong quits, but heavenly order keeps bothering him, this is the start of the game. The bull (and 4 other bosses we fight) are part of a group that kill Wukong and receive parts of the relic, hence the beginning of this animation.
8. Wukong tells bull not to take the relic, but he does anyway because he is a bull, stubborn and committed.
9. The scene with red boy and rakshasi is essentially present day, with red boy trying to take the relic, and the princess giving you the fan.

In short, the bull king was even more powerful than wukong. That's why when they rebelled, heaven court had to control him somehow so they can subdue wukong alone. The marriage is a scheme, bull king was too proud to see through, the child was a malicious wedge to prevent any true child come from the marriage. And by those strings, the bull king was manipulated time and time again to simply "make the wrong choice" that would eventually lead to this downfall. Underhand methods were used to make sure all his family gave out all their values before inevitably succumbed to the suffering and destroyed themselves. Such is the "wrath of heaven"...

Wukong and bull king knew each other since young, before wukong decided to join the JTTW mission that Buddha wanted him to, wukong, bull king and other Yaoguai( yaoguai meant all kind of living creatures that ascended to a higher form of what they originally are, able to gains knowledge, intelligence and wisdom like human, and eventually able to transform into a human form. And if they are taking the good path, they can one day become a celestial being, but if they take the evil path, they’ll stay a yaoguai forever), rebels against heaven and the celestial Court( as you can see it in animation short, the young bull king and wukong alongside other yaoguai fighting against heaven), unfortunately they simply can’t win, wukong resulted in trapping under the mountain by Buddha, and bull king’s family is very tragic here. Heaven forced his wife to drink the magical water that can get anyone pregnant( like self-reproduction), the mean of that is to make the bull king think that his wife cheated on him( it’s heaven’s way to divide their power). Now fast forward, after wukong freed from the mountain, and he join th team to JTTW, while on their, bull king’s “little brother” or perhaps “brother-in-law” I think was the troublemaker for heaven and the team to JTTW, and so wukong came up a plan to save the bull king’s family, beat the “little brother”, sending red boy( the son) away, impounding bull king’s wife’s magical fan. The fox gotten kill because ( some gamers claimed she isn’t just a random fox-yaoguai, she probably sent by the celestial court to monitor bull king and make sure they are not rebellious against heaven anymore) hence why Pigsy killed her. Also, bull king can get behead and regrows ( not a direct killing). So, bull king got be headed ( as seen in the animation short, and that’s why wukong said he keep on making the wrong choice). Keep on fast forward, wukong done the job that Buddha asked for, and even earned himself the Buddha title, but unfortunately heaven won’t let him “retire” and roam freely, and this time bull king made any wrong decision, joined the heavens army alongside with other yaoguai to hunt down wukong( you can see other Yaoguai in the animation short too, they are flowing above the sky). The only good choice that bull king made after wukong’s death is that wukong told him to stay away from the relics, don’t use it. Because it only bring in more trouble ( both from the celestial Court and other Yaoguai).
