If these guys don't watch Journey to the West 1968 or read the novel Journey to the West, they don't understand how profound the plot is. If you want to clearly feel and deeply understand this game, you should read and learn about it. As a child of Asia, I got goosebumps and cried while playing that game because it was my childhood.
Well played part by bro Erlang Shen, he gave wukong's relics to those yaoguai kings so us player can defeat and retrieve them easier, if he gave them to the Celestial Court, we would never take them back
In short, Wukong had a fight with Bull boss during the journey to the west, and during that fight Celestial Court was on Wukong’s side and helped him defeat Bull, as a result, Bull’s son got adopted by one of the god ever since this black mystery story. Wukong believe once he become one of the gods, he will be forgived by the celestial court, and hence he went on the journey to the west, however as you all see in this anime, he was wrong, this is everything happened after the journey and when Wukong once again defies Celestial Court.
About red boy he's not bull boss's son . Someone in the celestial court force his wife to drink water from the river(make people pregnant). Bull boss knows it but didnt reveal to red boy. Which is why he want to get wukong relics to revenge the court
1. At first, Wukong and Bull King were sworn brothers. They fought celestial court with other yaoguai Kings as well. When Wukong was defeated, Bull King and others surrendered instead of keep fighting. 2. When Wukong was freed from the mountain, he thought serving the master was the only way to survive and tried to convince Bull King to do the same thing, but Bull King was full of hatred and stubbornness because Wukong fought him and Bajie killed his fox wife, so this time he decided to fight against celestial court to the end but was defeated. His head got cut off but he still survived. 3. After Wukong fulfilled the journey to the west, he found out the truth of immortality. He could not accept what celestial is doing to achieve immortality, so he rejected his Buddha position. He knew no matter what they do, as long as they are Yaoguais, you will always be slaughtered by Celestial Court. So he once again decided to fight Celestial Court, however this time, Bull King listened to the previous advice Wukong gave him (yield to Celestial Court), and killed Wukong with other Yaoguai Kings. That is why Wukong is saying "never have you made a good choice". The Bull King made every decision wrong. Fought when he supposed to yield, but yielded when he supposed to fight.
It was a flash back. The bull king couldn't be killed by a beheading. In the Journey to the West NeZha (the kid on the fire wheels) repeated beheads him but his head grows back. Wukong believed the court will forgive him, he thought he could atone for his buddies's sins too and fix things by going on the "Journey to the West". But it didn't turn out that way.
People got confused when the bull was beheaded. That actually happened in the past, right after Monkey's "evil talk". The bull was so angry that a celestial army had to come to take him down. Chopping down the head couldn't kill him, that's one of his tricks. This is the plot from the novel, so naturally people who didn't know about the story would assume this is from the future.
Wukong embarked on a quest alongside Tang Sanzang to find the sacred scriptures, hoping to demonstrate that a person's fate isn't set in stone from birth. He believed the young man's words in the cutscene of chapter 2 were mistaken. Wukong was convinced that attaining Buddhahood would change how the Celestial Court viewed yaoguais. However, he ultimately realized that regardless of his accomplishments or the level of Buddhahood he reached, the celestial beings would always look down upon them. In the end, he came to the painful conclusion that the very existence of yaoguais was flawed from the start, rendering his efforts meaningless. I cried a lot watching this, because I understand each and every words he said, I have seen/read the Journey to the West, that's why this is so special to me
There are three wars in this animation, 1. Sun Wukong and the Bull Demon King attack the heaven together 2. Sun Wukong grabs a banana fan from the Bull Demon King on his way to learn the scriptures. 3. Erlang Shen and the five demons work together to eradicate Sun Wukong after learning the scriptures but i think some of them will never understand the story...
Lol its so funny seeing how people are so confused even though it was not even that complicated. Kinda shows how nowadays people are so bad are understanding story telling unless its literally spelled out to you.
Not really I adore this game but there is just alot of lore this game doesn't tell you about which can make people confused not having all the peaces people who grew up with the story understand alot better because they have the whole picture most people in the world this is there first time really being introduced to sun wokong
This is a reverse story, which first tells the story of the first time Old Bull and Wukong fought against 100000 heavenly soldiers and generals in the Heavenly Court. Later, it was told that the wife of Lao Niu, Princess Iron Fan, was forced by the Heavenly Court to give birth to a red child (the beginning of their marriage rift), and then it was told about how Lao Niu was defeated by Tang Monk's team on his journey to the west many years later. Because Princess Iron Fan had a fan that could extinguish the flames of the entire mountain, Wukong needed that fan to escort Tang Monk. Previously, Red Child had prepared to eat Tang Monk because eating Tang Monk could make him immortal. Sun Wukong defeated Red Child, causing Lao Niu to hate him. In the process of borrowing the fan, Zhu Bajie killed Lao Niu's concubine, Yu Mian Fox Beaver, which led to a complete deterioration between the two sides. Finally, Sun Wukong called Nezha and Li Tianwang and other heavenly soldiers and generals. Kill the old cow, but the old cow has a resurrection skill (similar to the ultimate move of the Tauren chieftain). The resurrected old cow yielded and knelt at the feet of the Heavenly Court. Finally, Red Boy knew his background and began to rebel against Laoniu. Finally, at the beginning of the game, the War Heaven forced Lao Niu to betray his friend and kill Wukong, and gave him Wukong's body magic weapon, but he dared not eat it. The tragic midlife crisis of a poor man.
In *Journey to the West*, the world is one of endless reincarnation, where the same events recur, but with different outcomes each time. In the previous cycle, Sun Wukong and the Bull Demon King fought the gods in the Battle of Heaven. The Bull Demon King died in Sun Wukong's place after he was bound by Nezha. In the current cycle, Wukong dies in the Bull Demon King's place during the same Battle of Heaven. This new cycle is repeating the same events but with different results. The *Journey to the West* universe is vast and intertwined with other great Chinese mythological works, existing in parallel universes or multiple reincarnation timelines. It is a complex, allegory-filled mythos deeply rooted in religious philosophy and challenging to fully decipher.

@@oathforblessed Reread the sentence. What I mean is do you even read the western mythology? If you haven't read it then why the hell do you think the westen people have read JSTW in the first place?
@@oathforblessed Yes most people do search more about the mythology in an inspired game if they are playing and found it interesting. In fact, what you say perfectly describe the last sentence of my second comment. No one bother searching the original source material about the game they knew nothing until they found it amazing.
Actually, the one bottom right, Singsing who is a streamer on Twitch knew a lot of things, he watched the TV show 86 and even recognize when the theme song "so much memories", he said on his stream (last chapter ending)
