Chefs are artists man, the best ones are so good at their craft, it attracts people to come and eat it, but so magnificent to the point you just don't want to touch it because it's a work of art.
everything was so "simple" lol.
Restraint like this is the hardest skill
You are always so respectful and precise in your commentary of these places you visit. Imo a chef's pov is way more interesting than a random influencer on yt.
Yeah i aint about bashin people.
Especially local independant shops, that's like shitting on someone's baby yaknow?!
Dude this food is seriously the best in Nashville, they aren't trying to be anything else but themselves and I love that about them. The kakigori was one of the best desserts I've ever had. Glad you enjoyed Nashville man!
I fucking love Locust. It felt like I was hanging out at a friend's house while they served me a fried shrimp pocket on a doily while metal music thrashed away in the background.
EXACTLY RIGHT??!
I'm pretty sure i heard metal and Taylor Swift lmao.
Going here for the second time in a couple of weeks. The tuna ham crisp is another incredibly unique and awesome thing on the menu. The chef who runs it used to be with Noma in Copenhagen and his time at the helm of Catbird Seat (also in Nashville) was phenomenal. The incredibly focused menu tells you all you need to know: this restaurant knows what exactly its doing with the food that it offers you, and nothing more. It’s borderline perfection.
If you ever come to Providence, Rhode Island, I'd highly recommend Mokban Korean Bistro. Great korean food and the best pomegranate tea I've ever had.
This restaurant looks nuts, but also shout out to you, man. Making casual videos yet super high quality. No judgey stuff but you pull out lines like 'lights a fire in my heart and makes me want to give up cooking at the same time'. Hands down my favourite food youtuber.
Thanks James, trying to make "fancy" food easy to relate and digest (huehue) (:
I love food all around
Great to see semi casual/fine dining in USA. UA-camrs mostly upload the fast food scene (which is great too).
i gotta show the whole gambit yaknow!?
No one loves food more than me haha
@@SenpaiKai9000 Gotta look after those 6️⃣📦 right?!?
If you're ever in Cincinnati again, head a bit east to a nice little town called Milford and eat at The Governor. Such incredible food and atmo.
the filming makes it on point
Thanks man, im pretty happy with how it turned out.
Gotta keep gettin better tho (:
And to think I was just in Nashville a couple of months ago and could have had this. Wow. Definitely time to go back. Also. Was it super expensive, or pretty good pricing for what you got?
i basically ordered the whole menu and a drink so it was $100ish w/ tip.
Beef tartare and dumplings were $20, and the shrimp pocket was $14 i think.
Relative to the quality, it's such a steal.
@@SenpaiKai9000 that is insanely good value for such high quality food. Wow!
@@SenpaiKai9000 100ish????? Holy shit i need to get my ass to Nashville right now.
Over 200 mil views in just 8 months on UA-cam. Incredible bro! Insane growth my dude. Well deserved. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 keep that shit going! ⛽️🔥
Awesome. loving these videos, keep up the good work man :)
Thanks homie!
Have you ever thought about going on a food tour in Austin, TX? I have a feeling you would love the food scene in that city. Houston as well if you prefer more Asian food.
Yeah both Houston and Austin are on my list!
I hear that Houston has some of the best Asian food fosho
@@SenpaiKai9000 if you go to Austin you gotta find your way to round rock donuts in the suburbs, best donuts you’ll ever have
That dessert looked so good!
Dude that thing was beyond incredible
that looked incredible
looks so good mane
these videos are great!
I made it here for brunch today, they're next level. Everyone was super friendly and you can tell how much they care about the food and the service. The tartare hand rolls are crazy. They had a snokes tuna ham on some sort of seafood cracker that blew my mind. Pickled cucumbers with dill salt dip... the dumplings came with a 4 seaweed vinegar and chili oil. Then there was the fish special, sad I couldn't get all 3. Fried Panko Crusted Curry Halibut with a Roe Aioli, and some sort of green herb oil piped in the fish Chicken Kiev Style. These guys are next level with the flavors. The waiter suggested the kakigori so I had to- came with a strawberry compote and honeycomb in it. Definitely the best overall meal I've had.
Wow, this place is about a five minute walk from the house I used to live at in Nashville. If it were around when I lived there, it would have emptied my wallet...
haha i think it's relatively new (last october?)
you lived there?! that area is $$$$$
Honestly I have never put Nashville in my bucket list of the cities to visit, but I guess now I have a reason to go
This must be preserved
I havnt ate since breakfast and this makes me die of eating so im Gunna make some food now 🙏🙏🙏
Dang looks good
Those dumplings looked so awesome.
So soft (':
i wish i knew how to make egg yolk sauce, i legit keep going back to this habachi place near my house because its so good even tho they over cook everything
what kind of wire rack/pan do you use
I wish you have stopped by later. We have a ramen shop reopening soon and it’s one of best ramen places in the South.
Not two ten jack is it?
Nashville is less than a daytrip away (:
We need a video on restaurants you recommend that are in Chicago((:
Thank god you got the dumplings, those things look so good 👀🤤
Had to!
That's their pride and joy lol
the ice gets clear from boiling it before they freeze it
Yum
The dumplings gon make me act up 🥵... I know a shop in my village that makes soft shell dumplings too. The softer the shell and the fatty/moist the inside, the better the dumpling. Damn can't wait to go back there.
oooF what place? i needa get there
@@SenpaiKai9000 yo senpai it's in the tibetian valleys, I don't think you'd like to come all the way for a plate of dumplings 😁.
me pulling up to that restaurant like: Let me in LET ME IIIIIIN
You know the food is good when Kai starts cussing 😂
LMAO
When’s the next time you plan on bein in cincy/where you live? Somewhere in Tennessee right? I should be in the smokies in March, would love to swing by:)
Next March?!
i should definitely be floating around somewhere if i'm not in Thailand or something lol
Senpai Kai please consider coming to Atlanta for a taste tour
YES! i hear Atlanta is on FIRE
what's the music you used at the end?
Bucket list
That looks so beautiful. Its in Nashville isn't it?
yup!!
Why was this the first time I ever heard you drop a F bomb💀😂
Haha the longer videos give me more time to build the hype lol
Drool!

Sweet.

Could you try golden corral sometime? I used to go there all the time 😄
i would actually love to go there. Waffle House is on my list too lol
@@SenpaiKai9000 it's good but not the best
thats it, im moving to nashville
these dumps finna make us ack up
Yo you live in Nashville?! I just moved out here about 3 months ago and went there. It was delicious!
I don't but i may!
Food scene is incredible, living there must have been hella $$$
@@SenpaiKai9000 You should! It’s pretty sick, and nah it’s not too bad just depends on where in Nashville.
Looks a beautiful place, food looks delicious 😋
this is great content man
Thanks homie (:
Lol totally. I mean how can you beat raw beef
Second video I watch. I'm wondering why you don't have 300 million followers
Even though Manhattan is expensive, you gotta go to NY. You can easily avoid Williamsburg, Long Island City and Manhattan and get GUUUDDD shit at a price that makes sense.
Oh yeah NYC is high on my list!
Senpai I love you
Ahhhhh my god ✨ I would eat everything raw
You like it raw huh😏
lmao chilllll fam
It sounded good until I reread it 🙃
If you ever get the chance to hit up NC, check out M Tempura. You wouldn't think they could take Tempura to that level-- okay well you could--- but the point is they did! Softshell shrimp tempura, scallop tempura with caviar, brie tempura with honey and black truffle. Completely unreal.
They're that Michelin starred Tempura shop right? *drool*
@@SenpaiKai9000 There's no michelin guide in NC lol, but god would they deserve one (or a couple 😁). The best course wasn't even tempura. They served salmon crudo with dragon fruit seeds (used like roe), the tiniest slices of radish and red onion, fried shallots in what I think was passionfruit puree. The texture! The flavor!
Holy shit man since when did you get a quarter mil subs
just grindin baby
Yo him making this video probably just made wait times go up 45 minutes
Haha we'll see mang
"This video is sponsored by Locust"

dude i wish
how can you dislike this video. gonna go find those 2 weirdos
Neat man. Is this restaurant also in Somalia?
Ohhh my lord I’m bout ta bust! That looked SO GOODT! 🥵
not on my chest bro!
@@SenpaiKai9000 HA! Don’t worry, dude. I’m a true marksman.
I got a Bounty commercial (rare) on this video. Crossing fingers on you closing a big deal.
Lmao! That would retire me
There's always a new best restaurant
yeah that's why it's new :P
@@SenpaiKai9000 can't argue with that
@@drysoup3017 we're both right (:
Hola!
I thought this would be about Cosme.
I'd like to try it, but I feel I would be pretty let down.
I haven't heard great things from people who have eaten there.
@@SenpaiKai9000 That’s why I’m surprised at its ranking. It’s the highest ranked American restaurant in the top 50 list. I ate there in 2019, which admittedly was 2 years ago, but I can’t fathom how it placed so well as I was disappointed with the offerings on display.
Hi
Senpai, can I like fine dining even if I’m kind of a little bussy when it comes to fish? I’ve never quite liked it, even though I’ve grown up in a place KNOWN for amazing, fresh fish. What would be a top #5 fish dish of your choosing that could convert me?
Stop being a little bussy
@@Maestro-gh2ei fair enough, will try it out
@@xXMiKuXx21 fish and chips, shrimp, cod, are good places to start then get more adventurous try squid, octopus etc seafood is delicious healthy and probably some of the cleanest meat humans can eat even if crustaceans are bottom feeders
@@Maestro-gh2ei I absolutely love shrimp, but I’ve tried takoyaki (in Japan!!) and been repulsed by the texture and taste of octopus. Most fish kinda hit me in that weird texture-taste zone that I can’t properly enjoy, too. I should try some real cod fish and chips though? Or do you prefer cod prepared in another way?
You can always request no fish but i would try out the chef's creations.
They generally arent going to give you something really fishy, it'll be real clean and elevated
The desert looks like appa
☺😴
Why do you end every sentence with that tone? Lmfao
Boy answer me! Is it media training ?!?
Hey ... I'm 14 ... I want to be chef ... Can you please guide mei how be one ... please 🥺
Just get a job as soon as you can so you can experience what it's like (:
Thankyou ... but what kind of job .... I am in 9th class ... And I am confused ... I want to be a fighter pilot in India but If I do not pass my exam of pilot then I am thinking of being a chef ... So i asked you about it
Man, I need to ask how they got that almond milk so thick
I think it's condensed almond milk and they shoot it up through a isi canister (those fancy whipped cream things charged with nitrogen)
I think it's condensed almond milk and they shoot it up through a isi canister (those fancy whipped cream things charged with nitrogen)
@@SenpaiKai9000 huh, do you by any chance know how to make condensed almond milk? I’ve been trying to learn but haven’t had any luck.
Did they pay youuuuuu lol jk
Haha ive never gotten paid for a meal....YET :p
I would feel terrible taking money from a locally owned independant shop
mushy rice and tender tartar, no contrast of textures, dont fix what aint broke
Yeah you clearly didn't listen.
Can you make Indian dish I will be proud to be an Indian
“AKA it’s really expensive”. Doesn’t make any sense
I’m in Nashville rn👀 dinner on me daddy
