The actor who played Nicholas, Alan Rothwell, now 84, used to give me the creeps when he appeared in Picture Box. The theme music was creepy too.
Apparently Amanda Burton did not like the 'Nick' storyline at all, and led to her leaving the show, I remember reading at the time.
