In this video, MDT My Damn Toys is discussing the WWE Mattel 2023 Crowd Funding Project of the Mattel Creations WWE Ultimate Edition WCW Nitro Stage! Featuring Rey Mysterio, Hulk Hogan, Scott Steiner, Ultimate Warrior and DDP! - Розваги
Honestly I think we need smaller crowdfunding projects, not bigger ones. Price and size.
I totally agree ! Not everybody has that kind of money to spend on this stuff . While it is spectacular and I would love to have it , thats a months rent !
Smaller WWE stuff [should be] on store shelves.. Like the Rings (that included multiple figs) used to be in the 80's & 90's. There's GiANT Almost $200+ Dinosaurs & 4 ft. + _Barbie_ playset mansions on Target shelves!
The Crowd funding model is rooted in Hasbro Corporate Greed. That's its origin. These our Billion Dollar companies! & Sitting on are $$$ as they acrude interest on it- should be scene as an insult to everyone.
@@Brando-Lee3725 The price is way too high, also it's the size of the stage
Yeah, the price was insane. I think that is the biggest issue. I think a lot of people could care less about the figures. It’s just it be in 400 for American and then UK has to pay like 700 quite ridiculous.
@@billyxkid5062 I'm telling ya #NWO is WCW. Not one NWO figure hurt this project (not having one, was A tone deaf decision). But YES, the Price was A lot! Also the "crowd funding" model is A slap in the face. These our Billion dollar companies. Trying to make A Years worth the $$ interest $$ off of their fans.
Honestly, the biggest problem with it is the barrier to entry. 400 being the minimum is just too much to ask for from the average collector especially considering that stages are more of a niche item. Even hardcore collectors might not want or have the space for the stage. I personally would love the figures, but don't care about the stage and can't really justify spending 400 just for that. The payment for these really should be in tiers similar to Kickstarter. There should be options to spend less and just get certain figures depending on how much you spend where the full 400 will get you everything.
It’s even worse if you were in the United Kingdom, they have to pay around 700
I agree 1000% I buy a lot of figures from them. I definitely spend over $400 a year on WWE figures. As excited as I was for this, $400 was just too much, and personally I didn't see the value in it for myself. $150 is about as much as I'd go for this. I'm not sure if its me being unrealistic or if they're charging too much.
This comment sums it up for every average collector! 💯
Honestly everyone really just wanted the Poppa Pump ultimate edition figure. They needed more 1st time in the lines to make this go through. Billy Kidman,Buff Bagwell,Sugar Shane Helms, and Raven along with Poppa Pump would've moved this thing overnight.
Raven would have been badass. I would have loved a Buff Bagwell too
I wanted the stage more than any of the figs. WWE wasn't gonna clear a bunch of first time names for this, and the same argument about their marketability could've been made the other way.
And Perry Saturn
The price still wouldn’t have been worth it
It's way too expensive. The fact that they planned a 4th Hogan and 4th Warrior wasn't gonna help the situation. The Steiner and DDP figures were the only cool ones. I'm glad it failed so mattell dials it back and we get nothing over $250
These companies need to be brought back to reality once in a while.
This and Ghost Rider are good things to have happen in the long term picture i think
I think it’s pretty simple; $400
That is a steep price point for what you’d be getting. Figures not guaranteed and just the entrance? I get it’s bigger and more complex than the New Gen arena setup but you can’t help but compare the two and feel like you’re getting ripped off. It’s just so high.
Maybe when I was in my early 20’s and had a bunch of disposable income I’d have jumped on it immediately, but for me at this point in my life, I don’t have $400 I can spend on an entrance, and maybe a couple figures.
Reasons why this wasn’t backed properly
1 Price
2 bad figures to aid in the stage
3 excess promotion on all platforms on UA-cam , on other fig channels and on tv
4 demographics of fans picking this was not grown men and kids of today don’t know anything about wcw unless the parent is a wrestling fan
I'll tell you why it didn't get backed by me and others, likely for the same reason. Just take the size of the stage out of the picture for a moment, 'cause the size of it didn't bother me, that was one reason I might have backed it if the circumstances were different. The problem was that no matter how you spin it, it's just not worth $400 for literally just a huge ass entrance stage and a slew of figures that we may or may not get dependin' on how many backers it may have gotten, if it was like the previous backers project where we got the entire arena(the ring, the stage and at least the top three figures out of all 6 -7 or so if you include the Eric Bichoff they said would come with the ring, and maybe a commentary set up) that would be worth throwin' $400 at all damn day. But when you put it into perspective of the last backers project, where we literally got the entire New Generation arena lackin' the barricades AND 2 figures, all for close to HALF that price, it's simply not worth $400 for what they were givin' us no matter what way you look at it
Yea definitely add like a scale ring or something
150 leds
@Faker : LED's... LMFAO that's pretty much why they wanted $400 for just the entrance stage, other than it's size
LEDs ok, can it play music or DVD?.. no.. my PS2 can tho and even brand new it didn't cost more than 200$ count for inflation and it's still cheaper, and this blinks... Raise the backers to 10 minimum and lower the price to 250, it'll get backed, and that'd be without figures even
@Ryan Lindemuth: Now I agree with most all of what you're sayin', but Mattel wouldn't have to lower the price at all if they just made the backers project worth the amount of money they're askin' us to throw it, that's what's preposterous - not necessarily the $400 price tag itself, but rather the $400 price tag with the backers project as they offered it to us whereas it's not worth THAT much ONLY for how little we would be given without balancin' out the value to make it worth the $400, like I said before in my initial comment statement, I'd throw $400 at that backers project all damn day IF they made the project WORTH $400
I would have been more comfortable had the figures been all included instead of stretch goals. $225 for the arena, $175@$35/ea for 5 figures would have been way more palatable. Yeah the downside is there isn't a ton of re-use for the molds like they did for the ring, but that was way more enticing at $250 for 3 figs, announce set (if early bird). As this was originally set up, it was just the stage and Rey (Hogan earlybird) definitely not as enticing. Especially with Hogan not being too far off from a couple of the other already released Ultimates.
Absolutely
Considering Michael Cole promoted this on Smackdown with around 2 million U.S. viewers, it's kind of surprising it didn't get a bigger bump at the end. Wonder how many curious fans checked it out, saw the price, and laughed.
Maybe now they can give us that Scott Steiner in the regular ultimate line
Honestly it definitely was the figure choices and the cost not only $400 but the international cost was ridiculous from what people shared.
They could have done was better choices or retooled like nwo macho man and made him the wolf pack or retooled the deisel or added a couple more first time in the lin😢es, i get why they picked a warrior that was a hard to get jakks figure but he wasnt Monday night wars.
No true early backer reward Macho man last year was a guarantee if you backed up by a certain date, hogan was only just a possibility.
Overall I am pretty bummed because IMO the nitro stage was better looking than the raw is war stage and like they said the raw one would have cost way more and I am pretty sure that wouldn't have made it if thats the case. Just sucks for us collectors because this was a really special item that we won't see for a long time if ever not to mention now was have the whole MNWs stuff with no stage so it feels hollow. I feel like if they gave it 1 or 2 more weeks and move ddp to 5k it would make it but seeing has how Mattel has been radio silent i think its dead.
For me, there were 3 big drawbacks that kept me from backing this.
1: The price. The stage is a very cool piece, but paying $400 for it and possibly some figures isn't worth that kind of money to me. The New Gen arena may have been way before my era, but I backed that cuz it was cheaper and had more value for it's price, coming with a ring and a small entrance stage in addition to what was 3 figures.
2: The size. I love that they went for accuracy with how massive the stage is, but the fact that it's just so big means that most people wouldn't really have the space to display it.
3: The stage selection itself. I didn't grow up in the era when WCW was around, so I have no nostalgia whatsoever for this stage. With the New Gen arena, it might've been before my time, but I do have some nostalgia tied to it from old video tapes my brother had from Raw in the 90s, but with this, I wouldn't want to drop $400 for a stage that I don't really want just to fund it in the hopes that a future project might be something I want.
I liked thought it was a pretty cool idea. I think the $400 was the biggest issue. I am fortunate enough to have disposable income so I had no problem backing it but I can see how that was a problem for most collectors
It's not the end of the WWE crowdfunds. In an interview it was said it might be harder to push expensive projects going forward but it's not the end. Besides Mattel wouldn't leave money on the table with the RAW stage, they know people want it.
Everyone is different for some it's the price, for some it's the figures, for some it's the space.
I honestly think a SmackDown 2002 Fist stage would be more expensive than whatever they price the RAW stage.
I wish they would have started with the SmackDown Ovaltron (Stage Left) entrance set. Get the tooling for the floor, the ramp done with that. One of the tiers being blue ropes, SmackDown '99-'01 ring skirts, House Show ring skirts '99-'01 (World Wrestling Entertainment/WWE logo in the middle). How about Sunday Night Heat ring skirts, black ropes? Stuff that enhances the project. Not figures, figures can come out at retail or exclusives. All of the above mentioned could enhance the still available Attitude Era RAW IS WAR ring. The black ropes and house show ring skirts could easily pair with future '99 - '01 PPV ring-skirts.
It would still leave for a future Ruthless Agression SmackDown ring for a later time. With corresponding ring skirts or even tier that up with the fist stage.
For the price point that they'll release the RAW IS WAR stage one of the tiers better be the 2 vertical side trons plus the curved tron pieces at the bottom to create the 2001 RAW IS WAR stage. That's a must!
I was genuinely also hoping it would get funded I really only wanted the Scott Steiner and the warrior and the stage obviously you could use the Steiner torso for fix ups
It makes me wonder what if mattel followed up the new gen crowd funder with something from an era where people would really love more (Ruthless Aggression or Attitude Era) instead of wcw era. Personally, I'd be willing to pull the trigger on spending that much money if this was something from ruthless aggression. I mean $400 is not cheap 😅. It didn't gave me the strong desire to spend $400 on something from an era that I have no attachment to.
As an overseas collector, I would of appreciated it more so paying for the customs/shipping when it came to it actually being on my door as apposed to upfront as that’s a hefty wedge to fork out. I would of also appreciated if there was some kind of buy now pay layer scheme or pay in chunks kind of system available for us too whether that be Clearpay, Klarna, PayPal ect to make the £500 ($631.85) hit more manageable with other outgoings. The figures themselves weren’t stand out or must have characters being as you said, characters/attires we’ve seen before asides from Steiner. Maybe slinging in some other accessories would of been a nice touch too, maybe a commentary table? Crowd cutouts? Barricade? Ring skirts? Something to add to the setups/displays being that if down the line we are getting a WCW ring too. But I beg this doesn’t hinder any chance of us ever getting some really cool, premium editions to the crowdfunds down the line wether that be attachments to the ultimate rings like a cage, chamber, cell and stuffs of that nature aswell as a fist stage. As I’m certain the fist stage is something I feel we all would want if any premium stage was to be created.
I really hope we hear some good news Monday, 🤞🏼🤞🏼 Bummed out if we don’t get this
I think if they had promoted it like they did the final week from the beginning it would have made a difference. Lets say that someone saw it on smackdown and was interested, by the time they saw it on there were 2 days left. How are they gonna figure out their finances (cause this is a significant expenditure) in 2 days?
As an international backer I would preferred paying customs on arrival
Also the figures never excited me, I just wanted the stage
Think better character selection would of set it off with more buzz
Like Harlem Heat, Steiner Brothers , DDP in jeans
I don’t think it’s upsetting I think they’ll focus more on match type crowdfunders and maybe find ways to make them more affordable….they’ve been overwhelming even the most serious collectors with these releases so they needed to know they can’t just put any price point and expect us to bite….maybe not but still hope. Beautiful stage tho man smh. They are also nickel and diming us…..they want to be able to seperatly make money on the other figure like a Jean DDP. They tried to lowball us figure wise so maybe it will wake Mattel up to help us out
I agree on the figure selection and international shipping. The chosen figures didn't spark the interest of collectors. We've seen so many Mysterios, Warriors and Hogans already! Also they clearly lost international buyers with the purchase setup! Very sad!
You’re right on the figures. The stage was cool, but high but if you broke it down to 4 cool figures it may have gone better. Another, Hogan, DDP, Rey and Warrior wasn’t it. The Poppa Pump was cool but not enough to open the wallet.
That Messed Up Thanks For Sharing This With All Of Us MDT
Canadian - I would have preferred the customs when I got the actual product next year. I backed 4 new gen arenas, didn't back a single nitro stage this year and I'm a HUGE WCW fan. But $700 + shipping was just not plausible.
I would like to say I would have paid and would still pay $100 more for the stage if Mattel moved forward with this project. The extra $100 per order would cover the lack of backers. I had considered ordering two additional stages to go along with the 2 I had ordered on DAY ONE because I wanted this to back so badly. I believe the stage and whatever figures received could have been flipped at a later time to cover the investment. Imagine collecting completionists in a few years trying to track down these ultra rare Ultimate figures. "Bummed" is an excellent word to sum up the overall feeling I have after taking this, "L". I know its too late and we missed the deadline. I think we all will regret this lack of support for years to come. Probably no large project like this for many years not to mention I will not have this cool stage to add to the collection.
I would love to see Mattel reach out to the community who did back this project. Im probably in the minority but again I would have paid more to get this done to make up for the gap in total numbers. Thinking outside the box, possibly extending the deadline with cost increase to anyone interested. Basically a real push to make this stage happen and not feel like the project was rushed and then rushed again to be over and done.
I’m from the uk and being a collector over here some/most things figure wise we have to pay 2-3 times more than retail as they ain’t available over here and with this stage it was something like 230 dollars more than the US. it’s a bum for us but we get used to it. At this point theve lost a lot of interest from overseas buyers
Like godfather said to quote archie bunker. England's is place full of ph a gs
They need sting, flair, and nwa wcw names we haven't seen
400 was a little too much, especially the figures are not that desirable. Maybe a wcw stage is too early, they should have produced a little more wcw figures for every to add in their collection, then put up the stage?
To add onto this. By you saying 400 was too much. For us in the uk in dollars works out at $631
@@user-tm5pf8ts2m that sucks for you guys, Mattel can work a distribution out there for ya, hasbro did it with the Haslab project.
If I’m gonna back up a stage that’s a crowd fund, I want it to be the Smackdown fist stage, or a WrestleMania stage. WCW stage didn’t win me over.
It's pretty black and white. The entrance and 2 figures isn't worth $400. If they included all 5 figures, then it would have had more than 5k backers within a week.
Also, I'm a moc collector, so the stage wasn't something I was interested in. I only wanted the figures, so paying $400 for 2 figures was out of the question, but I would have backed it for all 5 figures. Then just sell the stage and it would even out like I did with the New Gen arena.
Gotta remember the New Gen was the first one. $150 cheaper and came at a time when people had plenty of expendable income. Plus I think a lot of people had FOMO.
They got cocky thinking it would be blindly funded.
Even though this didn't end in success, I do feel like this did a whole lot better than the Haslab Ghost rider crowd funder. Literally, with a month before it ended, over I believe 3k people pulled out because it 349 for a 149 dollar car. I hope it leads to something
I hope they make the Raw is War as the next crowdfund but when this set is out i don't think we might get that too😢
my 2 cents... shoulda combined the stage with the ring (like they did with the new gen crowd fund) and pre planned a "macho man surprise"... IE stage and ring for $599.99 with 3-4 figs... half way through campaign... pull another "macho man" where they say anyone backing from the start until x day gets a bischoff and scott steiner with the package. I think it would have gotten 7-12k backers doing that (macho man generated 7k backers in 1 day)
I wish they added the anncoucer table as well
At this point, screw it. It’s clear that there’s a VERY small number of people willing to buy these items that also have space to display them. Just switch from crowdfunding to a made-for-order model and charge people $600 instead of $400. The few people who REALLY wanted this would be willing to pay that IMO
Price point and waiting a year..
Plus they picked wrong ultimates...They were sorta Handcuffed, because if Sting and Giant could've been on the deal,it would've sold along with Steiner,Amanda different DDP..💯
Since it didnt fund when do they start refunding since i payed thru cashapp?
Before u even say what went wrong. It was very expensive and I get why. Or maybe just include all the figures with the package could and maybe would have made it more worth it. Also IMO we didn’t need another ray, warrior, or hogan. There was more to WCW then them. Not having sting sucks but I get why he wasnt included.
I didn’t pack it because it was $400 for a WCW stage, WCW was cool but I didn’t love it enough to drop 400 bones.
I'm really disappointed this didn't get backed was hoping it would so we could get the Raw stage. Would have backed this one but I'm just not that into WCW so it was a lot of money to back something I'm not that interested in just in the hope we got a Raw stage later. Think not having Sting who was such a massive part of WCW really hurt this. I live in the UK and it was £500 and I think $400. Converting US to UK $400 is around £315 so was around an extra £185 to get it here. I do hope they can do something to get this out tho so the people who really want it are able to get it.
Biggest issue was that $400 price tag. For casual collectors like myself I can’t justify that price. Mattel and hasbro don’t need need crowd funding either, they’re just being greedy at that point.
I think the fact that this is a MASSIVE display is what hurt it. The main issue I heard from other collectors is they don’t have the space to properly display it. Reminds me of the G.I. Joe USS Flagg aircraft carrier which was the same issue many of us older collectors encountered.
Here in Brazil, if I wanted to back this up, it would cost the amont of money that I made in 5 months of work... So I would have to save every peny for 5 months, just to back it... So yeah, really fucked up
Do you still do the pic fed
Honestly, there just aren't enough people to support things like this. I have a feeling the first one only worked because people thought they'd be able to flip it or buy 2 to flip one. Whomever sold me mine lost money.
Love It MDT My Damn Toys Bro
To me. Only thing is to do WCW action figure series at this point. $400 isn't bad. Just wrong time to do crowdfunding where the money is tight for some people. They should've do RAW stage crowdfunding in the first place. Atleast they try. Something good will come from this
I didn't know they had a 33 month plan. I would have. I just didn't know it was availbale. I though I had to pay it immediately or in 2 payments.
Backed one 2 minutes after it went live and had the funds ready for a second for both the Hogan and final deadline. Purchased a custom announce desk in anticipation for this. Bummed out, not just for this but also the future of crowdfunding projects. I've always supported these despite my hopes of seeing match-centric projects being far down the pike with Mattel's visions.
But I'll be fine if this is the end of the crowdfunding experiment. The customer base doesn't lend itself to being united and is notoriously critical to the point of spiting themselves. Mattel didn't have a perfect execution but the toxicity and cynicism around this about every aspect ticked me off.
This is a fantastic comment
Its not just critical. You gotta step back and realise not everyone has that much to throw at action figures. Would I have liked to back it? Yes. Would I have paid more than 200 max? No. Maybe 250 IF all the figures had been included. And thats pushing it. If you have enough spare income to buy it for others thats cool Id accept 😂 but for real its just beyond most peoples incomes.
No, the fans weren't toxic. Just pointing out the real. Mattel screwed up.
I backed this stage even though I don't have any room to display it at the moment and though $400 was high. Given the details and size $400 would probably be worth it. I have always wanted a really good stage to have a set up for the figures. I feel like the figure collection was poor. I really wanted the Steiner but I could carless for another Hogan and Warrior. I think a WCW Eddie would've helped a lot. I thought maybe doing a Bischoff with an announcers table for the early bird wouldve helped too. I agree that a Sting would've helped for sure if there wasn't any prior to the stage if he was under contract with WWE still. I am really bummed the stage didn't get backed.
The next project should be the 2023 WWE stage with real lights and a screen if they can.
I'm from Canada, and to back this would of costed $800 dollars up front, which to me, is just a little to pricey up front. If they would of offered monthly payment plans here in Canada, I would of backed this. But unfortunately they didn't offer payment plans at checkout. I did see this in person at Wrestlemania, and it took me by surprise, I don't collect alot but I would collect an item like this. Maybe mattel should take a page off of high end collectibles like sideshow toys, and how they offer high cost items to the consumers.
honestly i feel like they will just make more rings now instead off stages because it is cheaper
Does anyone know usually how long it takes to get money refunded after something like this happens? Just curious.
I'm heartbroken i backed it and really wanted this. Still looking forward to Monday night war figures.
brad thats unfourtunet
Let's not forget that this was a nostalgia piece of a company that has been dead for 20+ years. Remember the awful re-brand/design to usher in the Russo era?
Yes there are plenty of figures to match with it, but ultimately this falls under the big WWF/E umbrella, and the 2000+ born generation probably aren't lining up to drop $400 on something they never saw live.
Speaking as a Canadian, the price was $695 CAD + ~$30 shipping. $400 USD is $540 CAD, so $150 was the international surcharge.
Regular mail shipping custom charges is a crapshoot, FedEx will always send you a hefty bill after the fact. $180 up front is tough to swallow.
Finally, let's also not forget the space requirement.
Even if I had the financial means, where would I place it, in my laundry room to rarely see it? Or keep it sealed down in the crawlspace storage?
Lots of people share this dilemma.
How about trying a lower cost WWE MSG entrance with various PPV/TV events? Compact, cool sliding doors, faces the hard camera, relevant to this day.
It sucks that this didn’t fund, because we’re not getting another crowdfund for a while, if ever, especially when you consider the difficulties they had with getting the New Gen arena to fund. Overall, the figure selection combined with the cost for international buyers just made it unbackable.
I would have preferred to pay customs later but in the Uk it was only 500£ so much save in Canada if you hadn’t included the shipping in the price I’m pretty sure it would’ve been. Better value if it was not included in the price if you paid it separately
"only 500£". Currencies are not 1-1. £-C$ is currently 1-1.7 that makes 500£ around 850C$
Something for me is how long it takes to get to my doorstep
if i had known about this, i would have backed it. oh well... maybe they'll try to release it again in the future.
I hope we can still get the big papa
A Proper Hollywood Hogan, _Walk the Dog_ chainmail BPP (Maybe w/ the Tiger), A Bischoff, "Instant offense" DDP w/ the jeans 👖 (chefs kiss), A Green Robed Flair. THATS WCW !!! Had they given us 3 of them up front; w/ the others on the "Backers" back end- This would of been A done deal!
I would rather they made the hole thing cheaper, especially being a UK citizen with Shipping fees really affecting the cost. I think Mattel need to start thinking about people bank accounts especially across the pond and in other foreign countries because with it being so expensive, it draws people off it. There was no logic in this product at all, pricing being the biggest thing.
If it's not a hell in the cell I'm not backing it
Sadly bad marketing. Wrong figures. And bad word of mouth. And toxic fan base.
You forgot too much money
I wonder what they do with the nitro stage on display if they cancel it
the pricing for Canadians certainly did not help
So we arent getting the stage even if we backed it?
They should make a WrestleMania 39 stage with a Cody fig, a Sami, a Rhea, and the early bird as a edge. All will be from WrestleMania 39
my problem is didn’t grow up in the era of wcw so i can’t justify spending that much on a playset as cool as it is i would personally love a modern one or a 2006 raw one then i could see myself backing it but yeah that’s my stance i collect all my figures MOC i don’t open anything so unless my daughter magically wants to play with a bunch of wrestlers hard to justify spending money on a playset
Wait so question so since it didn't get fully backed to people get refunded or they still get it
They won’t get the stage Because it didn’t get backed
The 5,000 number was needed to begin production with the manufacturer. Nothing should move forward.
The funds shouldn't have been deducted though people have claimed otherwise.
It time for Mattel to learn . People don’t have the money for product this expensive
I felt like if they would've replaced Ray, Hulk, and warrior they would've had a better chance
I didn’t hate any of the figs. Thought it should have been DDP with jeans/rib wrap
Its just too damm expense for something most cant display. Make it smaller and 95 Saturday Night with the sliding door, or Halloween Havoc with a pumpkin, and I'd be all in
Ik we will not get it but a cool fix up idea for that Rey would be taking I believe the elite 32 Rey Boots and swapping it onto the Ultimate 🔥
So I’m gonna buy that generic figures toy company scale stage and just slap some 2002-2004 stickers on it 🔥
wow so much potential
I found out about it with 2 weeks left, they need to run it until at least 5k is hit
I Bet if They dropped The Smackdown fist Or the Raw Is War Set instead, this woulda been pushed
The stage most likely appealed to WCW fans the most. So, the stage should have included unique WCW wrestlers who haven't been made by mattel at this point. Scott Steiner, Disco Inferno, Buff Bagwell, Alex Wright, Raven, NWO Bichoff. An announcers set with Bobby Henan and Tony Shiavone as the final stretch goal. This should have sold at least 5000 sets. There are enough people who could buy these expensive crowdfunded sets. The toy companies always fail at the marketing level.
I think it was figure selection. To have no nwo representation other than Scott Steiner and that wasn’t really even his nwo is just crazy on a marketing stand point. Seeing they are what really put nitro on the map.
Here in the uk it was very expensive it was £500 (which is about $630) if it was less I would of likely got it
(Virtually) Nobody wanted this, and i feel like they knew that but decided to do what they wanted to do regardless. You just gave us a UE Attitude Era Ring with Kane, why not stay there and give us the arena? 100% the reason i didn’t back.
Edit - And you make a good point, who wants another Hulk Hogan and Warrior UE? We’ve got these guys already..wake up Mattel.
$645 all up in Australia
International collectors will pay more than double the price US collectors will be paying. Its crazy price !
As much as we want it , the cost will be ridiculous .
In 🇸🇬 Singapore, we pay 3 time$ the amount for a elite or ultimate figues.
This project is almost impossible in term of co$t , but also space is a major concern as well.
I 1000% agree about the figures.
I backed 1 of these as well & I’m disappointed.
If I was Mattel, I would’ve waited on that Amazon Goldberg & made that part of this crowd funding project.
Maybe Scott Steiner at 5K, DDP in his purple gear at 7K, Maybe a Scott Hall & Kevin Nash thrown in & Goldberg as the early bird.
Also agree with the marketing. WHY was no one outside of collectors pushing for this? They should’ve had Hogan, Rey, DDP, Nash, etc all over social media showing this thing some love.
It was too much...where is the average person gonna put that thing? I love all the figures tho...I can't wait to get all those ..one day hopefully
For me the price is just to high as being a collector from Germany. Include shipping and customs i would be by something about 650 to 700 $. Besides that the figure selection isn't really outstanding. Got a lot of Hogans, Reys, DDPs and Warriors and we'll get a lot of Steiners since they've signed a legends contract. Would've be cool do get some unique Figures or first in the lines...wcw got so many characters which havn't a figure yet...
Let's gooo new vid
I honestly think it was the size of this that hurt it more then the price. 1 thing that stopped me from buying it was where was I going to put it... and if i wanted to buy a second one to customize I definitely don't have the space for 2, this stage should be to scale but I feel like they made it way more big and bulky then it needed to be like 2 feet wide is insane and 30 inches this stage was big as a a small computer desk man. Now lets get to the figures scott steiner was a great choice we all wanted that, same with ddp but they could have thrown in a raven, billy kidman , buff bagwell that old hogan hurt the sale nobody needs a late 80's hogan we already have multiples of.
If only they could done Nash hall and hogan then wcw do sting flair and macho would been sick
"They've Been working on it for 7 years" yeah well maybe they should've been working on something that maybe fans have "ACTUALLY" Been asking for? Like a Hell in The Cell? An Elimination Chamber or Even The Smackdown First,I haven't seen NOBODY clamoring for that WCW Stage,Expect Bill and Steve and all those 80s/90s old heads at Mattel who only like covering that time period. They Should HAVE KNOWN there little passion project was the wrong move.
Price was too high. It was WCW and should've been the raw stage. As of right now, Mattel barely makes WCW figures. I'm glad this didn't fund. Big companies stop trying to nickel and dime customers with these crowd funds!
I honestly think that the figures are the biggest thing that hurt this. Other than a first time ever Scott Steiner, everything else is just as mid as it gets. I hope Mattel honestly learned their lesson on this one because everyone is so sick and tired of Hogan and Mattel likes to try and rely on him way too much, even though he sells, but I think Mattel believes he sells way more than he really does. Same thing goes for Warrior, he’s right behind Hogan as the person that Mattel likes to pump out in every set and I think he’s stopped selling because him and Hogan are in every set now. If I was to choose the figures for this, I would’ve kept Scott Steiner because he was the huge selling point on this, I also would’ve chosen Rey Mysterio in the gear he was wearing when he unmasked and have it come with an alternate head, probably would’ve done the jeans look for DDP too. Now some other possibilities would’ve been, and I think some of these aren’t possible atm, but the first would be Booker T, then maybe Dusty Rhodes, Madusa, Scott Hall, maybe Meiko Satomura, and a huge wish would be for Jushin Liger. But I definitely do think that if Sting was available and included, this would’ve definitely been backed
They went wrong with the price point, and the figure selection offerings. Value wise they showed 5 figures.. so for $400 it should come with all 5 figures, otherwise the value for the price doesn't work for me.
Also the figures were awful.. DDP and Steiner were good. But Warrior, Hogan, and Rey are overkill..
They had Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Booker T, and even Rick Steiner all signed that would have been a better selection..
I was gonna back it.. if it got to 6999.. because it atleast needed to come with Steiner and DDP to get my money.. I watched it til the end.. never got close.
