Watching your video on the codex and seeing this battle report has probably been the most excited I have been in my time playing Warhammer! The T'au seem to be perfect for my love of a close-range yet shooting army which Mont'ka can take to the next level. I can't wait to get my hands on the new rules for them to try out. Also, lots of love to everyone at Tabletop Tactics. The work you do in entertaining and informing not just me but also the entire 40k community is great. Keep it up you bosses! P.S. Especially you Beard, love you man!
My favorite unit and the one that got me into warhammer is the broadside, and i was hoping to see them in action, but seeing the ghostkeel is nice though!
The Broadsides are also one of my favorite units. I just love how the rail rifles look way to big for them. Similarly, the Stormsurge is one of my favorite models in all of 40K. I can't wait to see some big knight or something get absolutely Bork’d when it wanders within 24 inches.
@@MrDreyven Are we talking about railsides or missilesides? Either way, I've wanted to use Shadowsun, but I don't want to lock myself into Tau sept or Kau'yon, so I haven't really gone down that route yet.

The painting on both side is very beautiful for the close view on the figs. But on the overall view we have grey team vs dark red/black team fighting on a mainly grey battlefield (with the ruins and the rocks), on a small screen it's difficult to see what's going on here 😅
Hey could you put the subfaction/chapter bonus into the army list cover instead of the warlord trait? You tell the wlt afterwards anyway and got more than one allot of times.
I love the idea of Kau'yon, but I have no idea how it'd be implemented. Probably hit hard early anyhow, and simply have more punch late game with whatever makes it.. but games seem to end before it kicks in! Also I don't have room for Hammerheads, need more mechas.
I guess you'd have to try and play fairly defensive and then try burst out the blocks late game. That strat to remove 3 Devilfish and let them come on next turn as Reinforcements is super cool but... How many are actually making it to turn 3? It's a strange one for sure!
@@FarseerB1rdy I think the Devilfish are good, but still starting on the board, I'm not sure. Of course it kind of is free, and Breachers with exploding hits would be funny. Now that warlord trait, that does feel nice. Pick up and redeploy 3 units? Or just 1 if I do need to Mont'ka for the mission? Think I'll keep a Fireblade with that and the Neurochip around..
I think Kau‘yon is just a good pick if you go first as then you get the benefits right after the enemies turn 2, perfect timing for most of it. If you lost the role off and go second, Mont‘ka will imo always be better as Kau’yon would kick in too late, while Mont‘ka benefits from the enemies moving first into no man‘s land in round 1. Imo Kau’yon will only be used in all comers armies, building for it will fail and only be done for Mont‘ka. I would also guess that many tournaments armies will try to go for a Mont‘ka build as tournaments have a habit to favor the aggressive player. So generally: if you know that the enemy army is not a turn 1 charger and you go first, Kau’yon may be a good pick as it gives you the ability to react to the enemy‘s turn 2 and take the game home from there. If you go second you probably will favor Mont’ka for retaliation in your turn 1 as you‘re behind on alpha strike. There may also be some play against certain armies (i.e. GSC coming from deep strike in mass in turn 2), could be that Kau’yon is more favorable against such an enemy as you may not get a lot to do in turn 1, where Mont’ka is strongest. But the nice thing is: sou get to choose after roll off, so you can play around with going first/second and what to use. Imo that may be the real strength, being able to adapt to the situation at hand instead of having to adhere to a pre-built strategy.
