Yes, 'if' is the point to remember here! It's easy to jump to that conclusion but health might have nothing to do with their separation. Also - (and I am 100% not saying this has happened in this situation) - but some people when they become ill, can become very nasty and even aggressive. Of course your instinct is to care for your spouse but if they change to the extent they become abusive or put you in danger then you might in reality have to make a tough decision.
Well their union was based on the misery of his abandoning his first wife so it’s just history repeating itself. Don’t people always warn about ‘reaping what they sow’? Karma maybe?

I cannot convey the scale of apathy I feel about this news.
Neither of them are very appealing . As someone who has had mobility issues later in life I would say that he likely was not mentally strong enough to deal with the struggles he has had. I have some sympathy for him as it is very hard needing others when they find it hard to be there for you. But they do both come across as weak and spoilt.
I am fed up of hearing all this.why don't they keep it private from now on. 😮

I think its natural that people prefer one person over the other - either 'team Eamonn' or 'team Ruth' so to speak. However, none of us knows what goes on behind closed doors. Either one of them could have become absolutely intolerable to live with or could have cheated on the other or just got bored and fancied a change. None of us knows the truth and really its not our business. These guys have a family. I'd hate to see my parents marriage being speculated over and people coming to all sorts of false conclusions about their characters.
