From Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico The Buhos Marching Band performing their musical selections at the 134th Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade on Monday, January 2, 2023.
I am sorry I do not speak Spanish. But I just wanted to let you know the performance was excellent! Who ever designed and made these outfits did a fantastic job of color and shifting shapes. We just couldn’t take our eyes off of them. The skirts and flags were mesmerizing on our home TVs. And the band uniforms were awesome too. All these young people should feel proud, they did an excellent job Amazing!
As a former member of the Penn State Blue Band in the early 80s and the Hopewell HS Viking Band in the late 70s, I was able to some some great experiences, but nothing like marching in the Rose Parade. Congrats!
The Beauty of Mexico. Veracruz could have brought the sounds of the Son Jarocho, with their dances and outfits, but the band wore the charro outfit and the women the mariposa colors of Michoacan. Awesome!

I personally feel proud of this band since I was part of it 25 years ago and seeing them now here in Los Angeles takes me back to my middle school years. The colors of the uniforms are the colors of our school. They did an excellent performance and are our Veracruz pride. I am proudly Owl of Técnica 3 from Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico 👏👏👏🦉💛🤎💛🤎🦉

Me imagino todo los esfuerzos de esta banda para traer a tantos estudiantes de viaje. Sacar pasaportes para cada uno. Cuantos trabajos tuvieron que hacer para reunir fondos. Llegaron en avión o en buses? Sería padre que la comunidad mexicana de Pasadena, se involucrará para recibirlos. Los restaurantes mexicanos, que les dieran de comer un día, para qué no extrañen tanto la comida. Pues que los chic@s, todos se la hayan pasado fenomenal.
