For those ·"great condecorated musicians" out here commenting the difficulty of the song, just to remember them that music does not consist of difficulty, but in creating atmospheres, landscapes and Feeling! That´s what music is all about. Sometimes a melody is difficult to play, and sometimes is not.
And sometimes the most difficult things to play are those simple things like a 2 chord song or a 4 chord bass line, because its own simplicity. Keep a perfect timming here withou relaxing is the point. Great bass tone here!!
Thanks for remarks!
"Condecorated" is that a made up word?
@@gasgiant7122 I think it means condescending achieved great players who can also be haters that don't remember what it was like to be a beginner. As a 59 yo re-beginner base learner and long time U2 fan this is fun and a challenge for a beginner to keep time. So thanks for the share.
Are you a text book or my band teacher, I can't tell XD
I can do it and women love this song, 10/10 will practice it a lot
Adam, the king of clean, beautiful, simple and effective bass lines. This guy works for the band, for the music. This is the true "spirit of a rock band". Work together. 4 by 1.
Long time no practice, now I play my bass again with this song. Thank you so much U2, especially Adam ...
This is one of my favorite bass lines ever. That's why i'm play bass and drums....... I love it.......
Thank you for watching.
me too!
I'm starting to play again after several years. it's amazing how nice it is to have this channel and be able to play again and get lost in the music. almost in tears in the sheer joy I felt that I haven't felt in years. thank you so much for creating channel. @@florainbass
Me too!!
You hear the music, but you feel the bass.
Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.
Your a legend bro
Love that quote
perfect one for beginners, nicely done
@Thomas Martin Haven't heard of that one, but one of the first songs I learned all the way through was Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd.
You did this very well with even notes and a great tone. Always loved that bass line
Thanks for listening
Freakin love Bono's vocals this song makes me feel like im in an open meadow with a nice cool breeze
Adam Clayton might not be rated as one of the "great" bassists of his generation but I believe he gives to the songs what the songs require without over complicating things unnecessarily. For me personally what I find challenging with his basslines is that you need to be a frigging metronome in order to keep time. It so easy to drift off when playing 8th notes across so many bars - not to mention keeping track of where exactly you are within the overall structure of the song. Respect!
I completely agree he is a very very good bassist . One of the perfect few song Bassists I call them , serves the song very well. And considering he couldn't play when he joined he quickly became very talented . Very underrated in my opinion
Agree, with you 🎉
He did what was needed in the band, and that is what matters.
@alejandroalamaparreno3000 so do all bass players . Some listen and play others you can tell , do it properly, clayton is one of them . He puts the work in
Not only that, Adam is one of those bass players who introduced harmonic syncopation in his bass lines. He lets on root notes of an oncoming chord, building anticipation.
Hey! Music is not a sport! It’s not about difficulties, unreal speed, it’s not a competition. It’s all about how it makes you feel! This song and bass line is amazing! Thanks for the tab, for your time and dedication, it’s very much appreciated!
Thanks for listening
I feel so much nostalgia when i hear this song, this is the first song i've ever learn on bass probably as many others. Simple but pretty effective line, perfect for begginers to "free" their fingers.
De todas las que he visto me encanta el tono que le sacaste a ese bajito
Perfect for a bloody beginner as me! Thanks a lot!
Simple bass line but so efficient!
Thank you so much for this video. I just started my bass journey. Apreciate the tabs and helping me work on my timing.
I’m learning this song! 😃
One of the best songs ever and one of the easiest for beginners.
Obrigado, Hoje comprei meu primeiro BASS e consegui fazer essa música graças à você!! Thank you!
Canon in D is everywhere!!
Thanks for sharing. First song i played on the bass today. Still learning.
Same 😁
Me 2
Excellent, great song!
I love the song and looked up the chords even though I don't play. Thank you! So beautiful!
very simple in appearence but so subtle to have the perfect sound, great job!
Glad you like it!
Good job! This is a great song to practice using two fingers on your plucking hand since you only have to move on two strings. really helps with the rhythm. Plus it won't make you look like a beginner. No matter how simple a song is to play always, index and middle fingers.
No, not always. Single finger plucking is a legitimate technique that even pros use sometimes.
There is no 'always' method in music.
My teacher directed me to this bassline to learn the instrument, becaus well, lets face it it's rather easy.... And now a few months later I've been able to play mostly in sync for the whole song ! Im sure it wasn't that great but it feels good to be able to play a bassline at a correct level, even an easy one (im sure in a few years I'll wonder how i ever struggled to match the rhythm lmao )
Great Bass...And Sound!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
thank you for watching 🙂
Excellent job!
First song I learn, thxs
Baixo, o tempero de uma música!
Thanks for keeping the intro in full.
I love this 🎸
With or without you ? I think it's so easy Sir, it's really a nice song from U2, by the way thank you for the tablature Sir, it's really help me to play the Bazz...!!!
Thank you for watching.
Easy/ not easy... This is a simple song (a beatiful one), where bass line takes the lead. Please show me a better one. My U2 favourite - because of simple bass line.
Beautiful.
Simplemente Extraordinario¡¡¡¡
I like the tab, I need the tab, remember they had a soda named tab, nice job Bro. Rock it!!!!
Haha, I remember that drink too. Fook we must be getting old.
tips for people trying to learn (new or not) it helps if you count 1& 2& 3& 4& instead of 1 2 3 4. it just helps you keep your timing if you aren’t using a metronome after 4& you’d just go back to 1&
&= and// so it would be 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1…
I hope one day to see this bassline "reimagined" or rebuilt - I know for a fact that a more vibrant bassline can exist for this song that will enhance it.
Thanx from Brazil!!!!
You are welcome!
Amazing ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Lovely
great job! great channel! subscribed!
Keeping the timing is the challenge, Some of the comments were saying this hard to play, its just another challenge, to me a challenge is an opportunity to get better as a bassist. I won't stop playing till I get it under my nails, 😊 I got this piece under my nails piece o cake...
Love it!
Thanks!!
Interesting for other instruments as well, thx 😊
Hola eres excelente. Por favor quisiera qye hagas el bass tab de Toto-till the end por favor. Saludos desde Peru
Great @Florain

Voll cool

Welcome!
Just subscribed!
thanks
fireeeeeeee
Tank you
panzer me
Thank you;)
You're welcome!
this is the most difficult song ever!!
A simplicidade de usar somente 5 notas no baixo, de forma repetitiva e com toques simples, não torna o instrumento e suas notas desprezíveis na música, pelo contrário, enaltecem o som.
The first I play... it's the same line of many songs...
This is the only bass line I know how to play LOL
It's simple, yet classic. Also very good for people learning to keep their tempo steady. On a song like this the bass is surprisingly exposed.
😁…..it was definitely one of my first tunes I learned when I first started to play bass. I still like to use it them to warm up my fingers, alternating. Especially, since arthritis moved on in and set up shop in my hands🤬. 😁
Others that are pretty sweet beginner songs to feel like you’re a bass rock n roller🤭….ZZ TOPP “Sharp Dressed Man”…”Rough Boy”….”Tv Dinners”……Alan Parsons Project’s “Eye In the Sky”….MANY Classic Country tunes….
Of course, songs like Boston’s “More Than a Feeling”…ELO’s “Last Train To London”…Queen and Bowie’s “Under Pressure”….and, James Taylor’s “Doctor, My Eyes” (**or, basically, ANYTHING by the GREAT, Lee Sklar…James’ “Up On the Roof” being a HUGE favorite to still play today🤘🏾🎼🤙🏾🤙🏾) are among greats to love and play.
But, the early days’ simple tunes are still sweet to use🎼
Top 👍
Very very hard....
My fingers bleed when I try to play this.
I broke my wrist while playing this.
And so ???? If you think music is about difficulty, you don´t have any idea of what music consists of
@@DIASDEMUSICA heard of a joke?
Great site ! CCR - Who'll stop the rain ? 😉
Thank you for watching!
Is there any reason to why you're only plucking with your index finger?
for me, sounds more legato and smooth to use one finger (index finger)
@@florainbass absolutely. If I really need the bassline to be as smooth as as even as can be, I only use either the index or the middle finger. And this bassline definitely needs to be as smooth and even as possible.
@@underthesun6346 ... This is plain stupid.
@@terreausore2435 you are the only stupid one here
What a creative bass line
Ok but for those who really want to play this bass line like on the record, this tab is incorrect. The E string has to be tuned down to a D, and all the notes are played on the low string. Also, Clayton plays the low open D a few times.
👍👍👍Merci🙏😎💞💕
Raronesos ligados suene como casete con la cinta doblada
D, A, B, G
Canon in D Chord Progression.
The original recording was done on a fretless bass for this reason the fret movement noise. Live they never have used a fretless bass but would be interesting!
great performance brillant cover ive been ever seen. bassista #50calibre
🙏🙏🙏👍😊
Plays it 5/0/2 (on the A string) 3 (on the E string).
👍
This is a fairly simple song to play on the bass and I've played it before.
Just what the bass us for.
I think we don't need tab for this one 😂
Y?
I know and I'm a drummer. 🤣
But the point is not how easy it looks, but the sound it produces. 4 keys and yet it's addictive which you can feel through the whole song.
Jajajjajajaja same
I don’t think you’re a musician,
Just because it’s the same doesn’t make it easy to play
Lol agreed, if you need a tab for this you probably should take up golf or something.
me dormi en el compas dos
C est pas technique comme ligne de basse mais ça fait l affaire
Got only one finger on both hands? Don't get desperate, "W/ or w/o you" bass line is perfect for you! :)) But if seriously this is one of those lines why I really wanted to become a bass guitar players.
Very few songs can "sell" the I-V-vi-IV. This is one of them!!
I posted some bass backing track of U2 on my channel with original vocals for those who want to practice
It's very hard play this.
Faut alterner index et majeur
You can actually play two of these notes on open stings.
U2 is a group comprised of musicians with average chops, an enormous signal chain, and an above average lead singer that's dumb and self absorbed enough to think he's qualified to tell the rest of us how to live even though he's never had a real job. They do excel at writing catchy hooks and do put on entertaining live shows. Adam Clayton can do the basics and that's all U2 expects from him.
dommage que les accords ne soient pas marqués !
Waht the fucking day
what was that add god save us
Three notes… man, that’s tooo many…… lol! but I ain’t gonna lie, I do looooove the song 🎵
um dedo so na mao direita?
Muito bom o seu canal amigo parabéns ganhou mais um inscrito se de da uma passada lá no meu abraço do seu amigo kinho slap ✌️😎🎸
I am sorry but this is not accurate. The slide from 2nd to 5th fret each time the riff starts from the beginning has to be intended ON THE UPBEAT of the last 4 of the last bar, so the DOWNBEAT of the first 1 of the first one is a D note. This shows that even the easiest riff can be played wrong if not accurate. One could say this is a slight mistake but the groove of the original recording is not there, sorry.
How bass should be played, just what is needed.
umie ktoś mówić po polsku
Yeah, not bad. But it's still wrong. Firstly check Adam Clayton's fingering ; Open A string, not a fretted E string on 5th gives a much better sound. Also where is the Octave work at the end? EG...10th on E, 17th,19th, 15th etc?
It’s good song but I can imagine just repeating that line would get boring after a while
Well, still better bass than metallica xd. Anyway nice job, but you need to be more lock in, especialy in pure rythmic bass :).
metallica has beautiful bass
