Just started watching this series, and hard to get into since it is not Jason Statham in it, but this other actor Chris Vance who I have never heard of. But in all these car chases and getting shot at, the R8 never suffers any damage, or even a scratch here and there. The acting is not that good, and the repetitive car chases especially when most of the chase cars manage to keep up with the Audi, and the silly clips of gear changing and pedal pushing for no good reason. The fight scenes are not as good either, and it seems not choreographed that well either, or even that inventive. But I am bored, so this is better than searching for something else to watch. It's a pity that Jason turned down these parts, but I quite understand his reasons, but 'Transporters' are not the same as when Jason was the 'Transporter' as Chris just doesn't have the style or mannerisms and trying too hard to be 'cool'...
This is an A8, not an R8. Frank only uses the R8 once or twice on screen, and he only takes it out for a leisurely drive, he never used it in any job. But as for all the others things you've mentioned, you're absolutely correct
