Travelled to Thailand every year for the last 20 years and from Winnipeg the trip always takes a minimum of 26 hours even with best connections. But it’s worth it for the final destination 😊

Flew from Detroit thru Tokyo to Taipei back in 2012 what a fun 21 hrs. Then had to get to the bullet train down to Tai Chung to visit my daughter. Quite the adventure, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles plus a scooter. Well over 24 hrs and I don't sleep on planes.

In actual fact she is very unusual in that time and money are no issue and whilst many could make a similar trip we are advised not to do so for many reasons that escape you and obviously her. If we all decided to do this then it would overflow ASQ in all countries.... oh dear and a full flight no first class.... gimme a break

Spending two weeks in quarantine in Bangkok . I wonder how that is going to be like. When I was in India we stayed in hotel 1 full day after we arrived . I was dying of boredom and slow internet.
I arrive April 25th, and they just cut quarantine to 7 days. Looking forward to your vid on the requirements so I dont miss out on anything. Love how thorough and detailed you are.
I once traveled with Turkish airlines while transiting through Istanbul Ataturk airport going back the US. It was a great airline, the staff and food service was awesome. Probably my favorite airline next to Emirates. Stay safe and enjoy your time in Thailand.
I like the Istanbul airport too. There's a hotel on the lower level that you can pay by the hour. It's not cheap and it smells like smoke, but a 9-hour layover almost requires you to spare some change on it. Istanbul is in a kind of a crossroads between east and the west and this was one of the busiest airports in the world before Covid. I remember it being absolutely packed in 2019.
Just a point of humor, on my IST - ATL leg last year when flying home to ATL from FRU, I also watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood on Turkish Air...the Black tea was a life saver on that flight, Hope your in flight wifi worked, our's never once did during the entire flight. Have fun in Thailand Aly!
Amazing video! I really miss to fly. I miss Chiang Mai my home town in Thailand. 2019 was my last visit there. I really miss my family there. Oh 38hrs is no kidding, that's a really long journey actually. As Thai citizen, I think it's a really good time to travel in Thailand now. Everything is so so cheap and calm, not crowded at all and nature is almost completely recovered. I even want to travel all over Thailand myself but my work does not allow me to lol. Well, wishing you a great trip here and awaiting your next video.
Oh my gosh. the middle seat. I have never taken a flight where i didn't have a window seat. UGH. And for that many hours. Poor you! Glad you had a shower, wow. All the luxury shops at Istanbul airport. I'd be so afraid to not wake up in the pod though, and miss the other flight!!! ✈

That was a LONG journey but I'm glad the lounges were open! Definitely need to check out the one in Istanbul next time since I have access via LoungeKey on my credit card. Had a similar layover there in 2019 but chose to step out and explore the city which was fun. Btw great filming at 5:39- I remember the violin performance you had filmed from that spot when you were flying to Kazakhstan :)

That's awesome! I actually didn't know Indonesia was open right now. Was it difficult to get in? Thailand is actually supposed to be lessening their quarantine period to 10 days in April if you're not vaccinated and a week if you are.
@@AlinaMcleod much easier than Thailand back in November haha they were allowing “visitor” visas for 6 months you just needed to pay $400 for the visa agent to do it. But I see a lot of travelers going there now (Thailand) and doing the quarantine hotels for 14 days. Wondering if it’s worth it
Boy we used to travel to Bangkok every year from the States since my wife still has her roots there. Last year our routine got interrupted by COVID. Welcome to Thailand Alina. Hope you don't have too much trouble visiting the country at this time. Even though there is a new restriction happening now (due to a new break out) but there are still many palces to visit and enjoy. To stay safe from Covid, try Bangkok's river trip or go to near by provinces especially Kanchanaburi. Over there you can enjoy River Kway trip, water falls, hot spring. There also lots of hospitality choices for you to choose, form luxury to home stay.

Good thing you are travelling in this century. 100 years ago the same trip would have taken more than 50 days. Nowadays you are subjected to the horrors of having to sit in a seat, be fed and watch movies for a few hours. Ahh, how we miss the good old days!
Wow, I'm almost as worn-out as you were following your lengthy trip! I thought I had it bad a few years back flying nonstop from San Francisco to Hong Kong -- 15½ hours! We were never the same following that flight! P.S. -- Canada is SO CIVILIZED! Your airports are so much nicer than what we have in the U.S.

I’ve done the ‘World’s Longest Flight’-Dallas non stop to Sydney. 24 hours. Thankfully, it was on Qantas-a great airline.

The world's longest flight is Singapore to New York at around 19 hours. Dallas to Sydney is less than 18 hours nonstop. Not 24 nonstop🤓

Boy we used to travel to Bangkok every year from the States since my wife still has her roots there. Last year our routine got interrupted by COVID. After seeing your video, just bringing back all our memories. Man, I’m jealous that you are able to go to Bangkok now. Anyway, enjoy Thailand and eat lots of durians for meeeeeeeee 😆

Love this VDO. I am Thai and now living in Bangkok. I used to live and study in Winnipeg for about 4 years. I can still remember how I felt on my longest flight back home. Missing Canada and my Canadian friends.

Welcome to Thailand Alina. Hope you don't have too much trouble visiting the country at this time. Even though there is a new restriction happening now (due to a new break out) but there are still many palces to visit and enjoy. To stay safe from Covid, try Bangkok's river trip or go to near by provinces especially Kanchanaburi. Over there you can enjoy River Kway trip, water falls, hot spring. There also lots of hospitality choices for you to choose, form luxury to home stay.

Good thing you are travelling in this century. 100 years ago the same trip would have taken more than 50 days. Nowadays you are subjected to the horrors of having to sit in a seat, be fed and watch movies for a few hours. Ahh, how we miss the good old days!

Wow, I'm almost as worn-out as you were following your lengthy trip! I thought I had it bad a few years back flying nonstop from San Francisco to Hong Kong -- 15½ hours! We were never the same following that flight! P.S. -- Canada is SO CIVILIZED! Your airports are so much nicer than what we have in the U.S.
