Really got me hookd - such a spectacular artist is she!. and surely not a regular kind of. Also lov her "irish" pronounce)! /watchin u from Moscow city town, with all ma heart!)🧡
Kate has a different instrumental focus that is not digital or electronic which would be the “and then some”until her later albums (when that was slowly becoming a thing) & played piano as a child. This is a product of industry (Perpetual Novice and Orchard are all subsidiaries of the largest label, Sony); fashion marketing, elitist art school cobbling, and people in pop are so easily amazed at someone whose had some classical training (but is not par enough for a real lengthy opera). The difference is Kate Bush actually pioneered a new movement of original artistry whereas those who followed in her footsteps like Imogen Heap, Carolyn Polachik, it cannot be said that their music is pioneering anything so much as an artificial pastiche of chameleonic mimicry using instruments available to us today. Nobody can be said to be following in their footsteps; even still today, Kate Bush truly popularized the Olivia Rodrigo “writing sad songs in your bedroom” take or Lisa Gerard, Dolores O’Riordan and Elizabeth Fraser with singing in their own language but being understood which we still see influentially today. The current state of music with large label subsidiaries is in artistic degradation & you can hear it in the music which unfortunately is not pioneering any authentic movements so much as riding on trends while it’s hot. As to the shaky operatic ability, there are plenty of opera singers who do not dress themselves to the fashion of Dazed in order to seem “edgy” or at the forefront of nothing. It’s fomo music; churn music as though they’re afraid of missing out. The producers CP works with, Danny Harle, are tellingly annoying with their hyperpop. Her solo effort is just Chairlift with hyperpop producers. Whereas Kate has always been just Kate & nobody else.
I love that Caroline now tells ppl to shut up with this comparison, I fricking love CP but KB pioneered and wrote music that was and is groundbreaking, Hounds of Love is one of the best albums ever, period.

@@GabCoelhoMusic can’t really compare music made decades ago to the ears of people today who listen to music that is just sped up chipmunks on helium
