1:15 that is a very fun head cannon and it probably works for HD but not for 2 because you can clone yourself in 2 and your clone acts like a hired help.
Well maybe when you clone NPCs It doesn't actually clone them but it's just a fungus that imitates the behavior of the NPC while not actually doing the thinking or it being a "human".
The hired help from HD could also be different from the ones in 2.
Also maybe the clone gun lobotomies your clone explaining the lack of processing power and the hired help are the same in HD and 2,
Maybe the hired help are lobotomized and that why they're bald.
Or maybe Derek just hates the spelunkers and decided to make them stupid and unhelpful.
