There already exists a video on yt explaining how the glitch works by Terraria Slime, but i'd also like to see a video about routing by hectique on the run in the style of his spelunky 2 speedrun guides since he seems pretty good at explaining this kinda stuff

The short version: v1.4.4.9. Put an item in the Guide's "Crafting" menu search box. Scroll down to select the item you want (so this only works if you have an ingredient for the item you want). Get any achievement popup to appear. Click on the achievement popup. Exit the achievement menu then *very quickly* click on the previously-selected item to craft it for (essentially) free (you'll lose whatever single ingredient you put in earlier).

He’s in journey mode, so I’m pretty sure he just set himself to god mode.

'journey mode' is a difficulty option you can choose when making your world and character and it gives you a lot of very powerful tools, such as duplicating items and making yourself invincible.

Basically if you open the crafting guide menu and then click on a newly obtained achievement and go back out while keeping the guide menu open, the menu will stop being read only and you can craft the things in it, using only the components you have in your inventory and ignoring whatever you're missing. This only works with the achievement popup on the bottom of the screen. The achievement in chat or the achievement button next to the inventory don't have this effect. This means that for every item you wish to craft using the guide, you need to get a single component of that item's crafting recipe and a brand new achievement.

​@@Arandomchannel55-io6fo this logic annoys the hell out of me. its not a competitive game. what other people do in the game they paid for does not affect you at all. if you dont like the glitch, just dont use it. itd be one thing if it was super easy for casual players to find on their own and abuse, breaking the game and ruining their first experience with it. but its not, its a tricky and niche technique that only experienced players will know about and use. no harm, no foul. let other people have their fun
