We want to be intentional about allowing our children to be exposed to false ideas in small, healthy doses. Those ideas may be communicated to our children through friends, books, movies, etc.
I think the analogy is between germs and worldly views. “To get to know the world but not conform to it” is similar to the idea of “to get the immunity but not get sick”.
First thing is to the keep the Festivals of Jesus The Jew. Yeshua is the name. Saturday is the 7th Day of the week. Start keeping Passover etc. Be brave. Learn Hebrew. Light the Menorah Saturday at Sundown. And so on.
