“Crazy Little Thing called Love” was written in 10 minutes in the bath as a tribute to Elvis Presley, by Freddie Mercury 👑. “It’s Freddie’s tribute to Elvis in a way,” said guitarist Brian May. “Freddie was very fond of Elvis.”. When Freddie was at boarding school near Bombay in the 50s, he first heard and became a lifelong fan of the singer. “When I was little I was in the choir and I just liked to sing. I would copy Elvis Presley songs."

November 24th 2020. R.I.P. Freddie Mercury. I never forget the first moment I heard this song on the radio in 1979 in Japan. It was even before the single release, even through a telephone from London on the radio program called the UK top 20. Someone in London played it and let us hear it through the telephone. The sound through the telephone didn't pick up the base guitar or drum kicks. Then a week later, they got the single and played it on the radio, then I was blown away! What a masterpiece!
I first heard this on the radio and I thought it was a new unreleased Elvis Presley song. I laughed when I found out it was the newest Queen single at the time. The band after all these years still amazes me. Queen reigns!
Not for me I saw a queen face evolution and he had no hair when he was like 0 he aslo had short hair and looked like a Beatle at one point and he started to grow it out
if elvis was alive around that time, it would've been a number 1 hit all over the world. freddie knew that it would've been the kind of song elvis would sing.
“My voice does sound a bit like Elvis Presley’s on Crazy Little Thing Called Love." "That wasn’t something I was trying to do, naturally, it was pure coincidence. It’s all sung rather low, so then you soon come close to Elvis, especially with such a 50s-type song" "I don’t mind telling you that my girlfriend thought it was a cover song, but that is absolutely not true. I wrote it… while taking a bath.” | Freddie Mercury |
Yeah, I remember band being on some American TV show and Mercury was interviewing later. Made the “bathtub” comment and was all “What mate? I’m serious...” R.I.P

I will definitely be seeing it again. It's like he gives us Freddie back for 2 glorious hours.
The winks to Elvis style are juste awesome. 😁 This song swings so good ! ❤️ Wonderful tribute. And the charisma of Freddie Mercury on stage is incredible... It breaks through the archives images and the boundaries of time. I cannot imagine what an experience it may have been to see the band in real... Chills from the beginning to the end.

My sister and her friend would say to each other before they were about to leave: "Ready, Freddie?" "Ready, Roger." Then when I would hang out with them, it was sometimes: "Ready, Freddie?" "Ready, Brian." Sadly, we never had a fourth person to be John Deacon.

it's crazy how they can do all forms of music, rock and roll, musical, ballad, etc...
Freddie wrote this song in bathroom in 10 minutes . That's why he is a legend. We all love you Freddie ❤
Edit: thanks for likes for writer issue google it please children stop fighting .
@@Chuuves no, elvis version its singed by a elvis impersonator
Edit:i edit this because i used a wrong word
@@Chuuves Nah Elvis been dead when this song came out
Yeah, now this is actual talent. Look at singers nowadays, some of them didn't even wrote the song that they sang. They just hire some song-writers to write it
@@Chuuves Freddie said the song was inspired by Elvis hence the leather jacket.

My nephew got married recently and this was the first dance for him and his wife. Loved it ❤
When I was thirteen I thought this video was just about the coolest thing on the face of the earth. I still do.
Your not wrong. I always blast this song in my car.
wait why are you verified you have no videos
Moira Russell I'm 13 now
Moira Russell I always think the video portion is a bit odd, then again everyone with talent must be odd or they wouldn’t be talented.

***** I know... But you can still wish the deceased a happy birthday. He lives on in his music.
Awwwww! :)
💔
I first heard this on the radio and I thought it was a new unreleased Elvis Presley song. I laughed when I found out it was the newest Queen single at the time. The band after all these years still amazes me. Queen reigns!
@@michaelknox3961 Yes I LOVE all of the Queen albums and all performance. What a band!
Been a Queen Fan for a long time, my wife and I danced to this song during our wedding. Best day of my life.
This is the shortest I’ve ever seen Brian’s hair
I just noticed!!
Not for me I saw a queen face evolution and he had no hair when he was like 0 he aslo had short hair and looked like a Beatle at one point and he started to grow it out
PenguinBoy14 yeah I realized because it was also shorter when he was in smile.
@@grapepotatos1921 after 1970 I guess is the shortest
Image of disco stu here haha.
Freddy was a handsome and creative genius. Long live the king, the one and only Freddy 👑
Elvis Presley And Freddie are two of the greatest artists in rock history. They will always be remembered.
if elvis was alive around that time, it would've been a number 1 hit all over the world. freddie knew that it would've been the kind of song elvis would sing.
Truly monarchical tribute to the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley!🎸🔊🎶🎸
Great, legendary hit!
"Freddie, why the hell did you bring the motorcycle here?"
"Relax, I promise it's gonna be cool"
*Good one hehe*

This music is full of life! No matter what happens ..
The bass in this song is the bomb!
What an awesome guy!
I don't know why people debate about his sexuality to this day, Freddie did whatever the hell he wanted :D
Music Mask Not to mention /who/ever he wanted. What a legend.
and that should be that last word on his sexuality . . . the man has been deceased 27 years . . . how important is who, whom, or how many?
I was 16 when he died and back then, people kind of assumed he was gay. And really, most people didn't care.

Right on Leslie!
Was autotune even a thing? Backthen
This human never needs autotune
“My voice does sound a bit like Elvis Presley’s on Crazy Little Thing Called Love."
"That wasn’t something I was trying to do, naturally, it was pure coincidence. It’s all sung rather low, so then you soon come close to Elvis, especially with such a 50s-type song"
"I don’t mind telling you that my girlfriend thought it was a cover song, but that is absolutely not true. I wrote it… while taking a bath.”

From which interview is this?
@@user-on8vk5gb6x just copy my comment before and search in google. I think there is more than 3 news paper had write about it. 😊
Yeah, I remember band being on some American TV show and Mercury was interviewing later. Made the “bathtub” comment and was all “What mate? I’m serious...”
R.I.P
Today this song was playing and my dad said he sounded kinda like Elvis Presley xD
@Kerry Smith you know he was married
Freddie Mercury is charismatic and a genius
Freddie would have killed the lead role for Grease.
Now that you mention it, he kinda looks like Travolta here in this video. But even hotter, in my opinion.
@@jamesmatthew3681 Freddie is definitely hotter
@@Valeramx
Exactly! 👍👍👍
Freddie could be new Danny zuko with that outfit on that will be more cooler he could be in grease
Trevolta is fucking dead.
I just cant get enough of Queen right now. I grew up on this music but my God it's just been reawoken since seeing the movie. They were TRULY MAGIC. Freddie made men and women SWOON that is SO POWERFUL. Rest in peace handsome angel
same here! i'm going on a queen binge listening to their music day and night!!!
Yea he's back
@@donnahall7750 He never went away. I still miss him as much today as I did back in '91 when I found out he had died. Freddie is loved by his fans in a way that no other musician ever has been. Not just respected and admired, but genuinely loved.
I've seen the movie twice, and Rami Malek was amazing...his Freddie is brash, confident, funny and utterly heartbreaking. I will definitely be seeing it again. It's like he gives us Freddie back for 2 glorious hours.
The winks to Elvis style are juste awesome. 😁
This song swings so good ! ❤️ Wonderful tribute.
And the charisma of Freddie Mercury on stage is incredible... It breaks through the archives images and the boundaries of time. I cannot imagine what an experience it may have been to see the band in real... Chills from the beginning to the end.
When I heard it by Michael Buble', I thought I could hear Elvis singing it. I must have heard this one!
Freddie said it was a tribute to Elvis AND Cliff Richard.
@@ZiggyCrosby I didn't know, thank you !
By the most of my live live I have been unaware, that this it is not a cover. They had so good sense in music styles, that i had asumed it must origin from 50's. How one on the best roccabilly song was created? Freddy wrote it in 10 minutes as tribut to Elvis. Unbelievable.
my favorite part of the song has always been the part where they say "ready freddie"
maia malanee yeah
Same here :)
maia malanee i like more the "ready freddie" of Roger Taylor
She knows how to rock and roll, she drives me craaaaazay...
My sister and her friend would say to each other before they were about to leave: "Ready, Freddie?" "Ready, Roger." Then when I would hang out with them, it was sometimes: "Ready, Freddie?" "Ready, Brian." Sadly, we never had a fourth person to be John Deacon.

Queen is such an amazing band, and Freddie's voice will live on. This song has a classic, old time vibe to it that I love.
WAS such an amazing band.
The first time I heard it I thought it was Elvis Presley.
There's a reason, it was a tribute/homage to Elvis.

One day when i was 13 years old my father put me bohemian rhapsody and said: look here son, this is how angels sing.
